Dear Casey,
It is never too late in life to find true friendship & love. On April 25th 2002, my husband committed suicide. We were separated at the time, but both of us were devoted to the process of reconciling. In the tragic mess one leaves behind for their loved ones and others to deal with, someone came forward to help me pick up the pieces. His name is Raphael or Raph for short. It was 8 years ago that we met one another through our jobs, and our relationship has always been a work-in-progress. It's been a roller coaster ride for sure, but Raph came to be and remains my best friend. Casey, I would like to dedicate a song to him. I'm not sure of the artist, but the song goes "This is for all the lonely people thinking that love has passed them by". I want Raph to know that even though we became friends late in life, I would go back and live the whole thing over again if it meant ending up with him as my best friend.
