Most are and always display that smug hollier-than-thou attitude as if Kelly is some sort of super creative 'artiste'. Puhleez, she co-writes songs with teams of people just like Leona is doing now and did for her debut album.

I bet she wrote more than 4.99 % of the song. She's a good songwriter and that's obvious from her debut, where she wrote all the hits like 'Bleeding Love' and 'Run'. Here we go again Kelly Clarkson st@ns with their holier-than-thou attitude, grow up...how old are you ? like 12 ? You and the other loser "freedomtime" have been spamming both this thread and the thread for "happy" in the pop forum.....grow the f**k up. How about you tell us how many hits Kelly helped write on her debut album ? You should know well as a fan of a reality show winner that these Idols are rarely allowed to have much input on their debut album. Leona wrote an album before 'Spirit' it's called Twilight and it was etirely written by her. Some of the tracks are much better than on Spirit. For your information, I'm not a Clarkson fan. I simply appreciate her recording efforts so far. Also, Clarkson co-wrote 'Miss Independent' which spent about two months at No. 1 on Pop radio. I prefer to support people who are damnified, like Clarkson. Her record label has been treating her not so well since she was signed. She deserves to be acknowledged and supported by some people. As for, Leona's unreleased album, we're talking about mainstream music over here, not some songs that were not even released from her label. And you can't compare Kelly to Leona, because Kelly was the first winner of American Idol and even from the second season things changes dramatically. That wouldn't have happened, if Kelly hadn't become such an instant success. And I didn't understand what's your problem. I just praised Leona for her songwriting skills. What should I do? Call her ankles fat?

There is obvious sarcasm in you "praise". It's a cynical remark and it's obvious. Stop spamming this thread. Not gonna waste any more time with you kcgreekfan....oops it's kcgrfan, just a coincidence ;) kcgreekfan.kellyclarksonexpress.yuku.com/

It's sad a lot of Kelly fans have an irrational hatred of Leona based on A Moment Like This which she had no choice in covering.

It sounds like she's working with quite a range of producers. Should definitely be more interesting than the debut.

Good to hear although I'd still like some ballads too but more current and less out-dated like 'Here I Am' was.

PopJustice review:
The Big Leona Lewis Comeback Single: Is It Above Average?
The whole idea of 'Happy' is 'bugger this I'm off'. The song begins with Leona singing that "someone once told me that you have to choose what you win or lose - you can't win everything". The advice, Leona explains, was not to take chances. Then Leona goes "but I can't stand by the side and watch this life pass me by, so unhappy but safe as could be". And then it all goes off (this will be the bit during the X Factor performance when the lights go on) and Leona blasts out "so what if it hurts me? So what if I break down? So what if this world just throws me off the edge, my feet run out of ground?" It is a proper goosebumps moment. She continues: "I've gotta find my place, I wanna hear my sound, don't care about all the pain in front of me, cos I'm just trying to be..." And then there's a split second pause as if she's trying to think of the right word, because 'happy' is too obvious, but at the same time it's all she wants, and it's all anyone really wants, so that's what she says.
That's all very well love but that shirt's not going to iron itself.
It starts off a bit (not very much like) 'Nothing Compares 2U'. It goes quiet LOUD quiet LOUD quiet LOUD quiet LOUD.
This song is going to be responsible for the end of rather a few relationships. Hopefully there will be some sort of stand-by-your-man, let's-try-and-work-it-out song before Christmas to even things out, eh viewers???
It's amazing. Not just 'Popjustice' amazing but proper 'amazing' amazing. You can tell it comes from the same place as 'Bleeding Love' but it is not the same song and it doesn't sound like all Ryan Tedder's other big songs (ie the chorus isn't just "HAPPY HAPPY HAP-HAPPY HAPPY WHOA HAPPY-HAPPY"). There is a very very very minor hint of 'Battlefield' just before the second chorus but you'd have to be the ultimate tosspot to even think about arguing that it detracts from the song in any way at all. Imagine if 'Bleeding Love''s dad sat it down one day and said 'the thing is, 'Bleeding Love', before I met your mummy I was very much in love with another lady and we actually had a little baby together so - hey! - great news, 'Bleeding Love', you've got an older slightly more mature sister called 'Happy'", and then 'Bleeding Love' looks at 'Happy' and goes, "well, we look nothing alike but I suppose we're sort of similar", and dad says, "you've both got my eyes". And then they all go to the zoo together. That is what this song is like.
Good vocal perfmance. 'It's a yes from us.'
It is very empowered in a 'what happened when girl power grew up, forgot itself then remembered itself' sort of way and it's got a great "lights on full, massive choir appears on either side of stage" X Factor moment near the end.
The press release is typically understated: "After winning the hearts and minds of the public in 2006 by winning the X Factor, Leona has gone on to conquer the world".
In short: the Leona Lewis single is above average. A brilliant way to open the second album campaign and a proper world class piece of pop tuneage which doesn't have quite all the indecipherable mysterious magic of 'Bleeding Love' but still boasts more than 97% of other pop tunes. World exclusive first full proper play on Radio One this Sunday.

Rolling Stone feature It mentions I Got You which is produced according to the article by Max Martin! and Brave and Dont Let Me Down so I guess them 3 out of leaks made the final cut. Oh and a Ne-yo song Cant Fight It. Here the demo sung by Ne-Yo Sounds better than the I'm You which he gave her last time

I understand what Ne-Yo means with this statement, but it's not an age thing IMO. The way I see it: each person has their own taste in music. Regardless of age, regardless of sex, regardless of race. It's about catering to current Pop culture whereabouts. What the industry has set for formula to sell. I don't think being young equals singing fluffy Pop songs/Hip Pop aka flavor of the moment stuff. She can and should be trendy where it doesn't limit her artistic powers and quality in sound. And that's exactly what this song seems to do. So I like it, Ne-Yo did a good job on it to me. A very nice catchy, funky mid to uptempo Dance Pop/R&B tune.

@ those comparison shots. Don't forget this one: but seriously, I hope no one actually believes either is copying the other. The Spirit cover is the only time I really think they were actually trying to emulate Mariah. So happy they've moved past that for this era.

I really like the concept of "Happy". It is like she is telling the critics and her nagging fans to FK OFF because she is going to do what she wants to with her career. I love that concept. Even better, the make up of the song comes off like a break-up song so it won't feel like she is bragging or nagging.
