Leona Lewis has revealed that she is “more than halfway through” recording her new album.

The X Factor star has laid down about 20 tracks for her follow-up to 2007’s Spirit, due later this year.

“I’m really, really positive about it. This far in, I’m feeling it even more [than last time],” she told DS.

Lewis also confirmed that she has been working with Justin Timberlake on several tracks for the as-yet-untitled record.

“He’s so awesomely talented. He’s been producing and he’s got vocals on some my tracks too,” she said.

Leona Lewis Planning Two-Year Tour

London, England (BANG) - Leona Lewis is planning a two-year tour. The "Bleeding Love" singer wants to hit the road for her first ever solo tour as soon as she finishes recording her second album in Los Angeles.

She said: "I'll be touring in 2010 and through to the year after. I just can't wait."

Leona - who shot to fame after winning U.K. TV talent show "The X Factor" - is really excited about her upcoming LP, the follow-up to her hit 2007 debut "Spirit."

The album is rumored to be packed with several star guests, including Justin Timberlake, Ne-Yo and super-producer Timbaland, and Leona insists fans will be surprised by her new sound.

The 24-year-old star told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "I've recorded about 20 songs so far. I'd say it was about halfway there. I've been flying back and forth to Los Angeles to record it."

"The music has a different feel this time. It's more of a live, heavier sound with a lot of real instruments. It's something I'll be able to perform live."

Jordin Sparks - a former winner of talent show "American Ido" - recently revealed she is keen to collaborate with Leona.

She previously said: "I want to work with Leona Lewis. I love her, she's so sweet! I'd love to do a nice powerful female duet with her. I think our voices would blend together really well."

I would think they'd leave choosing the singles to after the the album's completed. I'm sure they've got a few potential singles already, but, for all they know, the next 'BL' might be just around the corner.

John Shanks produced Kelly's Breakaway and Bon Jovi's Have A Nice Day, so I guess this song will be one of those with the 'rocky edge' and guitar driven'.

I think Novel is underated and underperforming ATM.

LEONA LEWIS may be best known for lung-shredding ballads such as Bleeding Love but she has been exploring new directions for her second album — and seeking inspiration from CHRIS MARTIN.
Leona has spent six months in LA working on the follow-up to chart-topping debut Spirit, and several new tracks owe a distinct debt to COLDPLAY.

A source said: “Leona was really happy with the success of her cover of SNOW PATROL’s Run, so she thought it logical to try her hand at a more rock-based sound.

“She’s a huge Coldplay fan and their influence is strong on a number of demos.”

The album is due out in November.

I do hope she keeps some of the rock-inspired songs, as mixing it up with Coldplay sounds a storming idea.

According to The Sun, Leona's new direction is influenced by Coldplay. I'm not sure what I think about this, I'm not a massive fan of Coldplay but they are very successfull, I just didn't expect Leona to take this direction but I'll save my judgement for when the album comes out.

Some of her band are black.
And ethnicity probably has very little to do with who Leona decides to hang out with.

If you read her myspace page pre-xfactor you'll see that the majority of her comments are to and from black people. She fully embraces black people.

Leona's close friends with Keisha from the Sugababes who's FULL black but I don't think Leona chooses her friends depending on their colour but who they are.

I have all the songs--singles, bsides, and album tracks--on my ipod. I haven't deleted any yee, and not sure I will--depends if I need the space.
My least favs. are Here I Am, FTEISYF, I'm You, Best You Never Had and Myself.
The only two songs I would say I genuinely really like are Bleeding Love and Run. I accept that the rest are pretty unspectacular.
