I thought Don't Let Me Down might be lead just because Justin wrote it so they'll be a bit of hype around Leona singing a Justin penned song but then it could be one of the Tedder tracks to open the album again or even My Hands, I have no clue. I'm just playing the guessing game at the minute.

Right. We haven't got long to wait for the lead single anyway. Bleeding Love premiered mid-August so if they are folllowing the same formula we have around 6-8 weeks to go! I cannot wait!!

Another new track, possibly for the album:
I Didn't Wanna Hurt You -- written by Kara Diogardi, Leona Lewis, and Salaam Remi.
Interesting!

Ah, so we've still to hear that, Perfection, and Stay from the Spirit era. I don't know why they didn't add them to the deluxe edition or use them as itunes bonus tracks. Unless they're no good.

Aaron Campbell from Urban Soul Ochestra posted a lengthy Myspace blog on the recording the backing tracks for My Hands, here are some interesting bits
I definetely think My Hands will be a Run type ballad now, I'm excited he called the CD a classic. With this big production and it being a confirmed track on the album I'm sensing it being a single, mabe lead.

I agree. That it's got all these orchestral instruments in does lead us to believe it will be a ballad. I'm not sure, however, that leading the album with a ballad would be a good choice. I think another midtempo would work best. How many ballads have been big #1s recently? What was the last #1? Big Girls Dont Cry?

In the UK, it was probably If I Were A Boy.

Apparently produced by Mr. Tedder himself.

Oh gosh I jumped up and down on my chair when I see this and I already love it too. I'm so happy, It does have more of a live feel as Leona said, It's not manufacturred. I'm so happy. And LeonaLewis I agree I dont think a ballad should be lead either. A more polished version of Strangers should though

Loving Strangers, if this indicative of the new sound, I'm happy.
Bit worried about this leaking so badly, Spirit was kept so tight.

I hope nothing else leaks... if they were planning on having these on the album they might change their minds now. I really want I Got U to make the cut. I could see it as a second or third single, pop would eat this up.

I hope nothing else leaks... if they were planning on having these on the album they might change their minds now. I really want I Got U to make the cut. I could see it as a second or third single, pop would eat this up. Did you post this on DS ? Leona Lewis’ track “My Hands” recording sessionLast night I had the pleasure and honor to be invited, as Stephen’s assistant, into the British Grove Studios to help out on the latest recording session for the track “My Hands” (to be debuted on Leona Lewis’ upcoming album). I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, but the song, even it its formative stages, sounds brilliant. Leona is truly one of the most talented singers in the world right now, and she’s got some great talent working behind her as well, producing and funding the development of her new CD. The session was from 4-7 and featured a fully equipped Urban Soul Orchestra consisting of 34 members – 10 violin 1’s, 8 violin 2’s, 6 violas, 6 cellos, and 4 basses. Wow, what a powerful and beautiful sound! i804.photobucket.com/albums/y...n/IMG_1652.jpgi804.photobucket.com/albums/y...n/IMG_1653.jpgi804.photobucket.com/albums/y...n/IMG_1654.jpgi804.photobucket.com/albums/y...n/IMG_1655.jpgBritish Grove Studios is fantastic – it is very spacious, you could almost fit a marching band of 50 players in there, and they’re all first-rate professionals, from the sound engineers to the assistants. We will definitely be working there again. I took a chair in the sound booth next to the producer – a brilliant writer and a great guy as well. I snapped a few photos, with permission of course, for your enjoyment: i804.photobucket.com/albums/y...n/IMG_1647.jpgi804.photobucket.com/albums/y...n/IMG_1648.jpgAfter tuning, the orchestra did a few complete run-throughs, which sounded awesome with Stephen conducting, especially over the Leona track as we heard it in the sound-booth. Ever the perfectionist, a great quality in a musician, Stephen worked hard putting the final touches on the song – adding a crescendo here, a decrescendo there, an eighth-rest here where there was a quarter; such attention to detail is something that can only be learned through a lifetime of performing and creating music. After several takes, the orchestra took a 5 minute break, and several musicians joined us in the booth to hear the track’s i804.photobucket.com/albums/y...IMG_1661-1.jpgAfter re-tuning, Stephen went through the finer points one more time, and the next two takes through were absolutely flawless; however, the orchestra went on to do several back up takes just in case. While the rest of the orchestra took a 30 minute break, Stephen then set out to record the soloist sections, involving two violins, one viola, and a cello. They did these sections several times, adding the raw emotion that only a string quartet can, to a track that was already sounding great. See the photo: i804.photobucket.com/albums/y...n/IMG_1662.jpgSeeing the entire creative process, from Stephen’s arranging the track before hand for days, perfecting it the day of, and then leading a successful recording session for an entire orchestra consisting of thirty-four members, was truly amazing. Stephen was in control of the track on every level, mediating perfectly between the desires and requests of the producer (the studio side) and the also the needs and inquiries of the orchestra (the creative side). It was an invaluable experience and is something that any aspiring musician should experience. This was only the string section, and it took 4 hours in studio, and days if you count all the arranging and editing Stephen did beforehand. As the producer said, and I here reiterate: this is why Urban Soul Orchestra, lead by Stephen Hussey, is widely considered to be the best in the business. His arrangements are bold, diverse, and beautiful, and of course uniquely-tailored to suit every track. Insider’s tip: Leona’s next CD is going to be amazing; it will no doubt be a classic, played for years to come, and USO is thankful just to have been part of the experience and contribute our strings! Get your copy before anyone else does so you can say you heard it first. Be excited. We are! **avid music fan and member of the Urban Soul Orchestra team** **Aaron Campbell**

I prefer the Strangers demo personally. I Got U just sounds too much like everything else out there for the last year or two.

Bit worried about this leaking so badly, Spirit was kept so tight. I think it's more a case of during the recording of Spirit, noone outside of the UK really knew who she was. So there wasn't a potential large audience or interest in leaks. Whereas now, there is alot of hype worldwide for her next album so there are gonna be lots of leaks because the interest is there.

I Got U is definitely the better of the two. Very individual sounding with great vocals and production. Strangers has potential but needs some work.

This is a weird moment for me. Actually having something positive to say about some new music in a long long time LOL! The new demos are actually good. I instantly like them, something I haven't experienced with new material for I don't know how long now. They bring in a good solid harmony, and feature the killer chorus I've been missing for years. Obviously they're demos and still need work done, but I definitely see posibilities here. Strangers is the best one to me. It's the least developed, but I sense a great feel good song in the make. Not too shut out I Got U, because that song seems to be very promising just the same.
