Dear Casey,
This week marks what would have been my Mom's birthday. She lived a good life being born on November the 11th 1918, the day World War I ended. It was such a momentous day, her parents almost named her Victoria, but she would become Louise (my mother). There are so many things I'll never forget like the day I received my bachelor's degree. Just before I got it, Mom reminded me she wasn't able to attend college like I did & couldn't earn such a degree. But at her funeral in 2000 in my eulogy, I pointed out that she wasn't entirely correct about that. Because in everyday life, she earned a Master's Degree & a Doctorate in Motherhood. Whether it was scouts, band, concerts, or horse shows, Mom was always there for me & my 2 brothers and my sister. And when it came to birthdays, every year she would make sure I would get a freshly baked birthday cake no matter where I was: out of the state or out of the country. Simply put, she was the most caring and influential woman I've ever met. I only wish everyone could have a mother like mine. Casey as you can imagine, I could go on and on, but I'd rather honor this special lady by dedicating "Beautiful Day" to the Greatest Mom of Them All. Thank you so much.
Theron
°03. Pocketful of Sunshine - Natasha Bedingfield: holding for 3rd week; "Angel" is her hit on the POP Chart.
°(From 1988) The Promise - When in Rome; their only top-40 POP hit.
°(From 2002) All You Wanted - Michelle Branch; was starting to take guitar lessons at age 8 when she had a bicycle accident that left her with both arms broken. During the recovery period, her parents sent her to a singing class where she discovered she had talent.
°(Spotlight from 1993) Said I Loved You...But I Lied - Michael Bolton; song spent 8 weeks at #1 on the AC Chart. He had 7 #1's in the 90's.
°02. Bleeding Love - Leona Lewis: holding for 6th week; song spent 7 weeks at #1 in the U.K. which is the most ever for a British female. Record was previously held by Mary Hopkin's “Those Were the Days”.
°(Spotlight from 1998) True Colors - Phil Collins; his remake of the Cyndi Lauper hit.
°(From 1982) Mickey - Toni Basil; also known for being a choreographer for acts such as Janet Jackson, Bette Midler, and David Bowie.
°(Spotlight from 1994) Can You Feel the Love Tonight - Elton John; was the top AC act during the 90's. He had the first #1 of the decade with "Sacrifice" and had a total of 15 #1's in the 90's.
°01. The Time of My Life - David Cook: holding for 6th week & 7th week at #1; commitment to fight cancer began when his brother Adam was diagnosed with brain cancer. The initials "AC" are on his clothes & guitar. He wants to use his success to raise money for cancer research. He also visited children at Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and took some of them with him to his appearance on "The Early Show".
