My main reaction to this week's chart was, "HUH??" This chart was extremely weird. I realize that year end countdowns might figure into this, but there are still a few things that don't add up. Here is the chart:

01 02 Unwell/Matchbox Twenty
03 03 Drift Away/Uncle Kracker f/Dobie Gray

15 05 Dance With My Father/Luther Vandross
14 06 Have You Ever Been In Love/Celine Dion
10 07 The First Cut Is The Deepest/Sheryl Crow
07 08 Big Yellow Taxi/Counting Crows f/Vanessa Carlton
05 09 Look Through My Eyes/Phil Collins
09 10 White Flag/Dido
08 11 Invisible/Clay Aiken

I Can See Clearly Now/Jimmy Cliff
Long Distance Dedications:
I'll Be There For You/The Rembrandts
Baby I Love Your Way/Freebird Medley/Will To Power

AT20 Archives:
1984: Holiday/Madonna
1984: I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues/Elton John
1985: Easy Lover/Philip Bailey & Phil Collins
1997: Un-Break My Heart/Toni Braxton
2000: I Knew I Loved You/Savage Garden
Now, back to the main chart. I'm sure you notice that there are two huge rebounds into the Top Ten. At number six, we have Celine Dion, who had dipped two spots to number fourteen last week, but this week, she's suddenly back in the Top Ten, moving up eight. Any other time, that would be the biggest jumper of the week, but right above her, we have Luther Vandross, who catapults ten spots up to number five which is the biggest mover on the countdown of the decade so far. The old record (after 1/1/2000) was the nine spot jump of "Cruisin'" by Huey Lewis & Gwyneth Paltrow back on 10/21/00 (the week that AT20 switched to that Mediabase chart with the weird recurrent rule). My question is, how the hell did these two songs all of a sudden regain enough plays to be back up in the Top Ten? If it's the year end countdowns, how come "Look Through My Eyes" moves back down four spots? It was on AT20 as I recall, as was "Sunrise", which plunges seven spots to number thirteen. Did AT20 go back to using the R&R chart? Or did they switch to yet another Mediabase chart? As I said, there are some things about this chart that just don't add up.
