^ My reason for comparing them is this. They're both really s**tty acts with really s**tty debut singles. While I originally liked both songs for two weeks, that obviously didn't last. Soulja Boy has struggled to get another "hit" song since and yet almost all (actually, probably all) of his songs have either referenced or sampled his one hit. Saving Abel's song is cliche and stupid lyrics, so I said they'd prob go the Soulja Boy route and reference themselves so the few ppl that find their "music" to be "good" (at minimum) will give them a shot again. I sure hope not.. I actually agree with about all of that, but have you heard this song yet? If you do you'll realize that it really has nothing to do with Addicted. You might even like it, of course I may be generalizing again lol

LOL well that's why I started my original joke by saying I hadn't heard it. I'd imagine they wouldn't actually do that, but the fact that katy perry has had back to back top 10's shows anything is possible with the shitty music we have today.

^I was agreeing with all your comments (including the joke)... till the last reference to Katy Perry >:( I think IKAG doesn't compare to SB or Ad'd in any means.

^ Katy Perry is a talentless gimmick. IKAG especially, and of course "Ur So Gay" all she is, is packaged up and ready to sell. It's actually sad that she has.

IKAG is horrid trash. One of my contenders for "Worst song of o8"

Well, at the end is a matter of preferences and tastes, I guess. But with so many options, I wouldn't consider IKAG in the "Bottom of 2008". It is already crowded in my book with songs like Addicted, Lovebug, A Mili, When I Grow Up, T-Shirt, Swing, Sorry, Can't Believe It, Bye Bye, Lollipop among others. I think KP lacks A LOT, especially as a performer (she sucks live), but her music is catchy, 80s inspired, clever funny lyrics, nothing controversial but not the typical common topic or sound either. She came at a good moment in Pop and she proved herself with HotNCold as a pop artist.

^ I will agree on the fact that this year has produced a ton of extra shitty songs.

Isn't that the point of the pop-rock power ballad? See: Far Away, Lips of an Angel, Without You, Better Than Me, Sorry, etc.

Ehem....I'm in college. Thank you oh you're welcome ;) ru a soph? 007 4 lifeeeeeeee Well, I don't know if you realize this. But the whole age thing came about when I made fun of someone (jokingly) and people took it too literally. It was in reference to me, and when you said that, I defended myself by stating that even though I'm 18 that I'm in college, hence not living at home. And class of 08 actually

Much better then the piece of trash that was Addicted, but it's still a generic, unimaginative song that sounds like a million other rock songs.
...Which means it'll be a hit.

Latin families are well known for a different bounding between sons and parents. We usually live with our parents till we form a family (initially getting married, nowadays living with your partner in general), and that could be at any age, even at your 30s. Then, even if we have our own families, we would visit our parents frequently, give them some money to help them with their necessities and if we have kids, they would help us raise them or taking care of them while we go to work or we go out at night.... among other things. So, saying that leaving your parents' house make you an adult reflects a lack of knowledge of cultural differences to say the least, or even a lack of respect to other cultures to say the worst. Although I know that it wasn't your intention to disrespect, I just pointed out your US-centered opinion. Curious to raise cultural differences in 2 different threads today (I raised my viewpoint on Archuleta's Latin-education on another thread....)

Second Chance still has opportunity. Saving Abel had a hit recently and Shinedown is still relatively new to pop. (Most people wouldn't remember I Dare You) and when this song reaches 40 on Billboard they avoid becoming a one hit wonder
