Hi Eric NY, and Zazie, good to see you again, haven't seen you since 2005, when ACC cut me off of my subscription to the show, Bob left, and Kix took over.
Now onto this new recurrent rule. I saw the thread Eric started about it, and thanks. This is how I found this site in the first place, looking for answers on this subject.
I too saw Chesney drop off, and thought it was strange, but forgot about it, I then remembered when I saw Justin Moore, finally move into the top 40, and then disappear.
Dropping from 16 off isn't too bad, you know it was over with, but Justin Moore, should've at least got Christmas leniency. The song should have had at least onwe token drop, until they took it off, and maybe even after the holidays. ACC spind might have sparked it as well.
I remember Kenny Rogers (There You Go Again?) having a song back in 2001, that moved up to 26 it's peak, and disappearing, along with One Day Closer To You by Carolyn Dawn Johnson moving from 27-24, and then completely off, and then Whiskey Falls moving from 41-40, and then gone.
Whiskey Falls, and Justin Moore are similar, where they stuck with them forever, then reached a peak, gone.
At least Lee Brice, and Craig Morgan they did the right thing on.
Thanks, for the info!

Just for future reference, this post could have gone under the thread about the new recurrent rule, and your post about Rodney Atkins could have been made under the "It's America" thread. We try to keep new threads to a minimum here, especially if it's not a thread for a single.

We try to keep new threads to a minimum here, especially if it's not a thread for a single. Yes, but it's nice to see a name from the distant past. I don't post here often these days myself, but this rules change brought me back. Hello there John and I hope your life has gone well since we lost touch. Are you up to 100 letters published by Fred Bronson yet? And I forgot to comment on your assessment of the rule. I don't mind BB taking the Justin Moore song off, even though that's not the problem this rule was designed to address (which must have been the slo-o-o-w dropping quick peaking songs like Should've Said No and All I Want To Do). Justin had a 16-week shot to do better than he did, and that seems like enough to me. Even the ACC spins weren't going to save him. I do think that if they pulled Keith Anderson and Julianne Hough so early in their chart runs Billboard was being silly. It wasn't really possible to know that quickly where those songs were heading. (Maybe they dropped off due to insufficient audience but I imagine they were sent to recurrency.) No reason to craft a new rule that applies in ways you don't really want it to.

Hi, Its good to hear from you again. It has been a while since we've been able to chat. I hope to see more of your comments and insight on country music on here.
It looks like billboard will use their discretion on if songs go to recurrent or not. Its more difficult during the holiday season to see if songs are really finished or not. It looks like that this upcoming week will be very interesting to watch.

To Rowdawg21: Why would my post about Rodney Atkins "Invisibly Shaken" go under "It's America"? Just curious
