Okay, I think someone had a little too much to drink at Bob's studio.
1. The recap of last week's Top 5 didn't match up at all. Chicken Fried was nowhere to be seen.
2. The segment with #14-#12 is the same segment as 11/29's #14-#12 segment. Everything before it was the right 12/6 chart. Was this a screwup with Bob's people or my station's people? Anyone got the proper #14-#12 for 12/6?
EDIT: I'm guessing someone at CT40 itself messed up. Here's Billy at #11.

I hate to keep complaining about things on this forum, but did we really need a thread on this? You've made multiple other threads with questions about the CT40.

I figured it didn't matter since my threads on CT40 are so far apart that bumping an existing thread probably isn't worth it. That and the search function here sucks.

I don't mind seeing a thread on this. I'm glad you brought it up. I heard that top 5 screw-up. Bob's tech crew must not be too bright. The website constantly has the songs named wrong, the songs out of order, and the wrong album name. Heck, even the homepage a couple weeks ago said something like "Carrie at number one with 'Love Story'" or something like that, with Taylor Swift's pic on there.
I would listen to ACC top 40, but Kix Brooks isn't much fun to listen to.

Well, I wasn't going to comment on this so as not to keep this going but since a couple of others voiced their opposition to your request, I'll say that I support it.

People just need to relax around here and have a good time. This used to be a fun place to chat and learn back in the day but since it's been overtaken by some people that seem to think it's only their way or the highway, this place has lost alot of its credibility.

I figured my posts on CT40 were irregular enough that no one would care. ...and grammatical correctness. (Sorry, can't help myself. No offense, Steelo, but I just have no idea where people get the crazy notion that "a lot" is one word.)

Well, I'm sympathetic to rowdawg21 and sbp17's assertions that there isn't a need for a thread on this, but I'm not really sure where Ten Pound Hammer's post belongs. I scrolled back through the last twelve pages of posts and found two CT40 threads -- one that Ten Pound Hammer started on Jeffrey Steele that probably belonged in the Country News & Non-Singles Discussion thread, and another one on the CT40 Top Songs of 2007 (last post: 2 January 2008). Neither seems like the right place for TPH's post. But perhaps the Billboard Chart Projections thread would have been the place for this post?
Steelo, as I've said in PMs and now, on the board, you have displayed a lot of undue intransigence on this board (most recently, through a repeated refusal to offer any logic or evidence to back up a dogmatically stated opinion), and that has detracted from conversation here. By contrast, rowdawg21 typically facilitates substantive conversation and he has shown, over time, a good understanding of board rules and what this forum is about. So, putting aside the fact that your calling him out is against board rules, my view as a moderator is that you're wrong on merits, too.

But perhaps the Billboard Chart Projections thread would have been the place for this post? I always thought of the Country News & Other Non-Singles Discussions as sort of a 'catch all' for posts that don't fit snugly in another thread. If it's something like a discussion of the CMAs, that's one thing but a single thread like this that would have had one or two responses to answer (if it had not gone off track), IMO, unnecessarily pushes down singles discussions. And let me say that a thread like this on occasion, particularly from a regular who contributes substantively like Ten Pound Hammer, is not an issue to me. My concern is the snowball effect. Suppose this thread is deemed okay and appropriate, then a Carrie fan starts a thread about a comment Bob made about her and then a Taylor fans posts a thread asking how many female artists spent three weeks at number one with their debut single from their sophomore cd and then a Reba fan starts a thread about how he believes Bob's favorite artist of all time is Reba....where do we end? What might be construed now as too much peer moderation, IMO, is done with the best of intentions. I don't think anyone (or almost anyone) wants a forum here where 90% of the threads are non-singles and 90% of the posts in a thread are mediabase or itunes updates (reference the Emerson Drive thread). I think we just have disagreement on how hard and how soon we work to prevent it.

I would agree with this, although I think that's a bit of a exaggerated snowball theory (your point is well taken though). I think maybe this should just serve as the unofficial thread on all things CT40. The "other" thread is usually littered with artist info, so a CT40 question and comment may get lost. There's not a lot of discussion going on around here anyway, so we have to be careful how much we discourage postings.

getting back on topic, the top 5 was definitely a ct40 messup. Een though the reporting panel for the chart changed a little for the 2 weeks, Chicken Fried should've easily been in the top 5 anyway. However the 14-12 segment must've been a local issue on your station. I was listening to KPLX this morning and the 14-12 segment was the right one on that station (blake shelton, Lady A, Alan Jackson)

I'm sure Eric is correct and being so, it's a wonder how many of us 'really' call in to our local station when they make a 'screw up'. When I was in college radio MANY years ago, elliminating errors was my biggest fear (next to dead air). When we start to have errors, nothing is crediable.
As for the Top 5 review, I'm sure the folks at CT40 must have heard about it by now. You think there would be a 'correction' posted on their website about the mix up.
