IT'S CHRIIIIIIIISTMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS!!!!
And it's also the UK's equivalent to Bing Crosby's "White Christmas". It went to #1 in December 1973 and charted a further four times: 1981, 1983, 2006 and 2007 - and it will very probably chart every year during the holidays from now on!
On a personal note, the above video is even more valuable because of two words: John Peel! :'(

Correction: in total, this song actually charted a further thirteen times - thirteen! - more in the UK - and that's already counting with this year's run. It's just that only four of those were in the Top 40. Although by the looks of things - #49 on last week's chart -, you can probably add a fifth to it. Oh, and there was also this 1998 remix, credited as "Merry Xmas Everybody '98", by Slade vs. Flush, which went to #30 in the always legendary UK Christmas chart week. Listen to it at your own risk...

Although by the looks of things - #49 on last week's chart -, you can probably add a fifth to it. Indeed. #32 this week.

It's not a great song, but because so many memories are tied up in it I love it regardless. IT'S CHHRRRRRRIIIIISSSSSTMMAAAAAAAASSSSS!
