I think it's way better than the first version! Carrie and Randy's voices sound really great together. Love the harmonies.

I think it is gorgeous! I just wish the harmonies were throughout more of the whole song as they are so beautiful! But the second half of the song is so pretty.
I love how soft and pretty Carrie's voice is when she harmonizes with Randy. Love it.

I hope this re-release duet brings it to #1 on the country chart, because I just noticed that Carrie's solo version has a negative bullet.

Carrie doesn't have a negative bullet on All Access, I don't think. It had a negative spin and AI day today, but it has been gaining the past few days so I think it still should have a positive bullet, right?

Yesterday morning? It was a -0.052. Neligible decrease.
This morning it saw a 0.439M AI increase.

When it comes to Audience AI, it decreased like 0.5. A relatively small audience decrease is not equivalent to a negative bullet.

Whoah, the duet is #18 on iTunes :o I can't wait to see how high it goes tomorrow after the American Idol performance. This could possibly give Carrie another top 20 on the Hot 100.

Wow, Carrie did a great job on this song on AI. She brought me to tears. I love this song and she sang it just lovely. Didn't dig her hair though ;)

All I can say about tonight is for the first time I really want Carrie's music to continue progressing more to the traditional side of country music and I think it will. I don't care if it doesn't sell as well or all go #1, it's beautiful with Carrie's voice. Tonight I saw her as a Country legend for the first time.

Whoah, the duet is #18 on iTunes :o I can't wait to see how high it goes tomorrow after the American Idol performance. This could possibly give Carrie another top 20 on the Hot 100. For the sake of clarification (especially since I should have weighed in on this in the Rascal Flatts, "Here Comes Goodbye" thread), I don't have a problem with a total of one or two iTunes updates for the week since this is the duet version's first week on iTunes. So if at week's end, someone wants to post that this song peaked at whatever position on the iTunes all songs chart and hovered in whatever range for the week, and maybe make an estimate as to what the week's sales might be, I'm OK with it -- as long as it's just one post. What I don't want to see is a series of posts that go: You get the idea. If you want more frequent updates, I'm pretty sure they will be posted in the Carrie thread in the General Artist Discussion, A-J forum. I thought Carrie and Randy's performance of this on AI tonight was terrific, and am so glad they chose a relatively acoustic arrangement. Can someone with the ability to watch it back tell me if Ryan Seacrest ever identified this as a song that Randy wrote and sang originally? I might have missed it if Ryan did (and will be annoyed if Ryan didn't; I'm also pretty sure that this week's release of Randy's greatest hits set went unmentioned on AI, unfortunately). Still, I thought Carrie sang the song with reverence, and Randy with grace. Both of them turned in a very moving interpretive vocal.

^Not to start anything but serious question, what ARE we supposed to discuss in these country threads if we're not allowed to discuss iTunes or mediabase positions?! I get that some songs don't constantly need to be updated, especially if they're in the top 40, but for those of us who aren't subscribed to all access, we should be able to check the positions of songs we like that aren't in the top 40, such as Miley's The Climb.

^Not to start anything but serious question, what ARE we supposed to discuss in these country threads if we're not allowed to discuss iTunes or mediabase positions?! Daily updates on either are unnecessary to figure out how a song is trending. And the country chart operates predictably enough that even weekly updates aren't necessary unless it looks like a song is about to clear a certain threshold (top-40, top-30, top-20, top-15, top-10, top-5, or #1) -or- if a song looks like it might peak or suddenly gain some steam. Those are examples of noteworthy events. But a song moving from, say, #25 to #23 for the week while maintaining a consistent increase in audience doesn't usually rate a mention. Then, as I already mentioned in the Miley thread, check this thread, which rowdawg21 updates every day with Mediabase info -and- projections for Billboard/ R&R. Daily updates simply clutter up threads needlessly and are usually not significant enough to warrant posting.
