I keep going through the album and I can't get into it but I'm gonna keep trying. It sounds like Avril or something. I only love Dont Let Me Stop You. And yeah it so is her 'Oops' album. I want to hear her do songs like Sober again! My favorite was that original leaked demo 'One Day' We get it - you don't like the CD and only like DLMSY. NEXT!

I was just thinking about this but can Kelly and RCA sue Itunes? They should. They totally screwed up although they'll probably make it up to them by having huge Itunes banners and all that.

Aw, that's cute! Was that recent? Um, Kelly hasn't been that skinny in years. LOL! It's old, Kelly said she met Katy years before.

I don't think so summers. The same thing happened with Funhouse when it was uploaded to Woolworth's website weeks before it was supposed to come out, but nobody was punished. Maybe they'll give her some big banners for compensation.
I cannot express how much I love "Already Gone". It's my favorite ballad in recent memory. In fact, all of the ballads on the album are fantastic (although imo If No One Will Listen isn't up to par). Also, I'm really happy with IDNHU as the second single, it's so catchy. I played it in my car, and my girlfriends loved it.

It's not the fact that she changed her style, it's the style itself that she changed it to. And yes I know you aren't dissin me or anything lol dont worry! I know Pulse rules require us to respect everyone's opinion. I wish there was some way for me to say what I think about MD without insulting anyone, but it's hard. So I mostly just keep away from the topic. But man...people who whine that Kelly is somehow "selling out," or is not being true to her "artistic" self if she does anything other than MD type stuff, are forcing her into an impossibly tiny box. There's so much more to art and to music than the dull, dreary stuff on MD. I'm happy for Kelly that there are people who enjoyed MD, but for fans like me who don't want to be dragged down by someone else's goth period, yay for the fun and variety of "All I Ever Wanted."

Already gone is pretty good, and all I ever wanted. I don't like cry though, it sounds like it was specifically made for radio play.

I wish they could/would sue, but the damage is already done. Huge banners and such are not going to make up for the fact that a lot of people in these tough economic times will not buy the album because they now have a free copy. Obviously, there's no way to ever know how many sales will be lost because of this, but I'll bet even some people here who say they'll buy it really won't.

It's not even about only wanting gothic/indie/super pissed/ bad girl Clarkson. It's about the fact that a good portion of half or more of this material doesn't even sound like her. She doesn't sound nearly as comfortable with this material as she did with My December or Breakaway for that matter she is toe-ing the line and producing numbers that essentially are all replica's of her pop contemporaries. To be honest what makes any of this material different from the material P!nk, Katy, Avril or even Hilary and Miley make? I am not a fan of material that regurgitates very recent sounds. Like seriously some of these songs sound like rip-offs of The Best Damn Thing, Funhouse, One Of The Boys and even Hilary Duff and Breakout. This isn't so much a question of "bashing commercial Clarkson" it's that we aren't excited that we are getting left-over material and sub-par commercial efforts from collaborators (Tedder, Dr. Luke, ect.) who have created much stronger works recently. Aside from a few ballads (that sound like they could have been sung by Avril) and "Don't Let Me Stop You" what is salvageable about this album?

How do you she doesnt sound comfortable with singing this stuff. Thats what bugs me. People act like they know who Kelly is and unless you do you shouldnt say she isnt comfortable with this style but with this one. The only time you can say that is by also saying that Kelly has stated it. Kelly has said that she enjoyed everything on aiew and enjoyed making it and im going to believe it unless i hear otherwise from her. there is nothing wrong with saying i think kelly doesnt feel comfortable with singing the songs off aiew but staright out saying it is WRONG because kelly has said the opposite.

Ok, so I think I finally got the whole picture of how I want the singles to go:
1. My Life Would Suck Without You 2. I Do Not Hook Up 3. Already Gone 4. Don't Let Me Stop You/Long Shot 5. Cry 6. All I Ever Wanted/Long Shot
Also, I want them to submit Save You to Grey's/House/And other drama... and I think If No One Will Listen would make a wonderful charity song... sort of like how Footprints In The Sand was used in some kind of charity thing... I can also see Hook Up and Already Gone being used in some teen show... like 90210, The Hills and those

I wouldn't even dream of trying to talk you out of it. I do get the point of view your opinion represents. I just don't happen to agree with it. Both albums are what they are. Some people like one, some like the other. What drives me nuts is the constant harping about MD over and over and over and over again, for three years. The debate is so old now that it's grown a beard down to its butt. And it's a debate that is totally unresolvable. No one on either side of the debate is wrong or right, because it's all individual opinion.

She can say that she enjoys it until the cows come home. That doesn't mean the music is a fit for her. As it clearly isn't. She's floundering all through out this record as she is trying to sound like a person she isn't. She is trying to sound like a party-girl, a lost-rebellious teen and it simply doesn't work and doesn't sound nearly as organic as any of her previous material.

Some of us are able to enjoy Thankful and Breakaway and MD and AIEW and all the sides of Kelly that those albums represent. There are gems on every album.
It seems to me that whenever someone hasn't liked one of her albums those people are extremely intent on expressing their discontent, almost as if other people's enjoyment or being in the minority opinion frustrates them to point of making repetitive dismissals of the material. I don't know what people get out of belaboring an unhappy stance on something that is a choice to spend time on.
I know it's a celebrity curse for fans to think they know an artist better than they know themselves, but anyone who thinks Kelly would put out an album that she isn't proud of does not come close to getting what this girl is about. A song here and there, sure, but not an entire album.
I think some fans don't want to accept that she would be proud of material they personally don't like, but it's unavoidable. Kelly's tastes and versatility are so wideranging that she will always please one faction while displeasing another.
Funnily enough, Kelly isn't the one in a musical box, it's the fans who want their more narrow tastes pleased by her every time. For those who don't like this one, she'll put something in your box again. Some people became fans because of MD, not Breakaway. Some people hated MD and they love this album. You just have to wait your turn if you can't appreciate all of her musical sides.
Not just one of these albums represent who Kelly is or should be. They all represent a side of her at a point in time. Who Kelly is as an artist all goes back to the beginning when Kelly considered naming her first album "Pigeonhole This". It might not be the title of any of her albums, but it is the overriding statement she makes with every release.

Breakaway had the same amount of detractors when it came out...probably even more. And we all know how that turned out.

I'm just glad I'm a fan of an artist that doesn't sound like a robot in freaking EVERY song on EVERY album.

No no no. Fans just don't want to admit that they like the COMMERCIAL, mainstream Kelly more than the serious, indie Kelly, so they come up with excuses as to why the people with a less commercial taste in music don't like her new album. I'm not going to mention the PCD copy, Katy Perry demos & Since U Been Gone clones again because it's been done to death, but ya'll know what's up with that.
People are too embarrassed to say they prefer mainstream, tailored to radio 'hits', so they word their defence of AIEW to make it sound like Kelly is just expressing herself in a different way, when it's pretty obvious what's really going on.
I think some people don't actually realise how commercial & evil the recording industry can actually be. I did some work experience with a major label a few years back, and even I was shocked to see how they handle a lot of their projects.

"It seems to me that whenever someone hasn't liked one of her albums those people are extremely intent on expressing their discontent, almost as if other people's enjoyment or being in the minority opinion frustrates them to point of making repetitive dismissals of the material. I don't know what people get out of belaboring an unhappy stance on something that is a choice to spend time on. "
This needs to be a signature-one of the best posts for this thread. If this or any other record is not for you, let it be known but to belabour the point over and over does seem a bit much, although I do appreciate the diversity of opinions. I have to say that what I find most comical is that some of very same folks that perform these repetitive dismissals are fans of some of the most unartistic, robotic, vocally-enhanced "artists" that could be considered to be among the biggest commercial "sell-outs" or whatever they are called, IMO. That just doesn't jive, lol.....
