I want to know if this is some kind of a marketing ploy. This can't be a "bonus" track can it?

Whoever said that MLWSWY sounded like Katy Perry was wrong. TDWFA sounds like Perry in the chorus. And in the higher parts of the verses. She sounds especially like Perry in the "part -art, -art, -art"... parts. Hahaha.
Great song though.

IMO nothing about tdwfa nor mlwswy sound like katy perry. What an insult for a vocalist like Kelly. Songs like mlwswy and hook up are made for radio, while tdwfa is NOT. They made the right decision with the right single to get Kelly back on radio. Tdwfa wouldn't work so well for pop radio.

What? As great as that sounds, I wish she were getting rested during that time instead of doing intercontinental appearances the week leading up to the CD's release. Not that every little bit doesn't count, but shouldn't she be focusing on her biggest market?

Clarkson 'didn't suspect' Aiken sexuality Wednesday, February 11 2009, 8:33pm EST By David Balls, Entertainment Reporter Kelly Clarkson has admitted that she had "no clue" that Clay Aiken was gay. The singer admitted that she was surprised when Aiken confessed his sexuality to her while on the road. "The funniest part was when Clay told me when we were on tour and I honestly had no clue! I have zero Gaydar," she told Attitude. "He caught me off guard because he is very dirty! He says dirty jokes about girls, he's got that Frasier wit, so smart. I didn't see it coming." The star, who has the US number one with her single 'My Life Would Suck Without You', added that she was once bemused to learn that one of her ex-boyfriends had previously had a same-sex experience. "I've actually dated someone and then they've told me later on that they actually had experimented and I was like, 'Really?' I would never have guessed that!" Clarkson releases her new album All I Ever Wanted on March 9. www.digitalspy.com/showbiz/a146408/clarkson-didnt-suspect-aiken-sexuality.htmlthis is quote from an interview Kelly gave to Attitude Magazine.

Kelly Clarkson By: Catherine A. Ross It has been seven years since America's sweetheart Kelly Clarkson won the first series of American Idol, and since then she has bagged herself two Grammy's, sold positively squillions of albums worldwide and enjoyed number ones across the globe. She talks to Pride Life about meeting Barack Obama, drunken retail therapy, and her lesbian following... Do you feel like you've got away from American Idol territory yet?Erm, I don't know, I never think about departing from it, it's how I got in the business and a very cool way. I got millions of fans before I even had an album. I don't know, I don't think about it. I think maybe if you focus on it a lot of attention goes on it. But even on Idol, Simon Cowell will tell you, I've always kind of been my own thing, I'll sing gospel and country and pop/rock stuff. Have you always written songs?
Yeah, always. I lived out here writing with people before Idol. So I continued writing. I don't feel like you have to write. There are plenty of good songwriters out there and maybe I'll have an album out one day where I don't write anything. But for the most part I usually do have a lot to say so I do write a lot on the album. Are you quite comfortable with telling so much in your lyrics?I'm comfortable because I realise what it can do for people. God puts us through these situations, whether they're great or horrible, is for a reason. It's great to hear, like when you're talking to friends, you want to talk to a friend who's at least been there. Or if I'm having a problem in the industry, I want to talk to a friend in the industry because they'll actually know what I'm going through. I don't know, that'd why I write about stuff like that. I don't want to filter myself or just write about happy things because life isn't always happy. So you have to write about the things I'm going through because obviously I'm going through them for a reason. So maybe it can help someone. Do you enjoy spending your hard earned cash?I don't know. I got tipsy with my brother and sister in Vegas and we were on a road trip coming back from the Grand Canyon and we were coming back from LA. I got so tipsy that I ended up buying this ridiculous diamond cross. I was like "I love crosses" and my sister and I were like "That's so pretty." And I ended up buying it. It was a ridiculous amount and it was in the tens of thousands. It was stupid, I felt horrible the next day and was like 'Why did I buy this?!' I wore it to many different things because I thought I had to make the most of it otherwise I just feel like a waste of money. I'm like that when I'm drinking. I become like this different person and go "Oh, pretty, shiny." I'm notoriously known for buying diamonds when I'm tipsy. I'm a completely different person when I'm drunk. All of a sudden I love rings and dresses. I've given away most of the things I buy. Does it upset you that in magazines it sometimes says you need to lose weight?Oh god, I grew up in a small town where people say left and right like you should not do that with your hair, you should lose weight, you should gain weight, you're looking sickly. It's always different. And I've been in the press and people have said I'm on drugs because I lost too much weight. It was like I was working amazingly hard! Not only on tour but doing the album and all those territory's and you automatically lose weight and put on more weight when you're on vacation. I just don't pay attention to it because I fluctuate like any normal girl. If people think that's abnormal well…cool. You've got a big lesbian following haven't you?I think I have a big lesbian and gay following in general. I have a big group of women that are on my fanbase and they call themselves the Kezbo's. They're awesome and I love them. I don't mind either way, a fan is a fan. You've never had a moment or done anything like that?Oh no, I like boys. Sometimes I wish I didn't, just because there's so many problems with relationships but that would happen with a boy or a girl. You're quite religious. Is that ever a conflict for you?
No, I am a Christian but I think that the bible is a guideline. I don't think it is set in stone. There's certain things that are set in stone, like I don't think you should kill anyone, but I think that it's a book and people will interpret it the way you will. Everybody gets something different from it. Who am I to judge? I make mistakes, regardless of what they are or how big they are in people's eyes. I find it irritating how certain people paint Christians as bad and they say that we're judgemental and we're not. Are you political at all?I'm getting into it more as I'm getting older because I feel like I've been an idiot for not being as involved as I should have been. But I'm getting in to it now and ever since I ran into Obama in DC in front of a bunch of Senators, this thing called It's the Download. It was kind of eye opening and it was like 'Wow, I want to know who's in what office and would like to be a part of that decision.' So I'm not educated enough yet but I'm getting there. What was Obama like?Really cool. With me, I can always tell if the person pays attention to just me then they're that kind of person but if a person pays attention to everyone else and actually cares and talks to my best friend, people that they don't even know that are with me, then that's cool. I do think it's rather interesting Obama's background and how he grew up and his work ethic is amazing. It's a healthy time. We need change. www.pridelife.co.uk/article/show_article/626

'Fell Apart' is very weird if it was Kelly. The song is pretty good as a pop song.

This interview shows why Kelly is so well liked; she is so easy to connect to. She talked about getting tipsy, losing/gaining weight (in a very healthy attitude), and Obama all in the same interview.

This is probably a dumb question, but will the deluxe version of the CD be available in stores, or is that sort of thing only for Amazon/iTunes? I realize this makes me sound incredibly out of touch, but the only physical CDs I buy anymore are Kelly's and I bought My December at the store before I noticed the deluxe one on iTunes. And I'm a huge Kelly fan...but I don't have the money to justify buying both!

So Kelly has always been one of my favorite artists, definitely in my Top 4, but these demos are horrible with the exception of a few. I hope her voice can make me love them cause right now I am feeling like this could be my biggest disappointment of the decade. :'(

U2 takes a week on David Letterman's `Late Show'
NEW YORK – Make room, Paul Shaffer. U2 will be on David Letterman's "Late Show" for a full week to promote their upcoming album. The band will be Letterman's musical guest each night from March 2 to 6. It's the first time a musical guest has been given a solid week on the CBS show. U2's new album, "No Line on the Horizon," is to be released that week. The band played its first single, "Get on Your Boots," to kick off the Grammy Awards on Sunday. The band last appeared on the "Late Show" in October 2001.
This is very relevant for us because they will be Kelly's biggest threat on the second week of their release, which would be Kelly's debut week. I would love for her to be #1 in sales to further solidify her return.

I wonder if there's some kind of business relationship between whoever U2's record label is and CBS.

thanks Focus for the info on the covers/demos thing.
And thanks to Will for putting all that stuff in one post, much easier!
Where were the songs available for purchase by the way?
Anyway, to the person that asked about the deluxe version being available to buy in stores, I should think it will be....it is available for preorder at WalMart, and Best Buy.....so I would think they would have physical copies in the stores.
And believe me, I hear ya about the double spending!!

Mainstream Top 40 this morning:
8 T.I. Live Your Life f/Rih... Grand Hustle/Atlantic 2008 5892 7057 -1165 9 KELLY CLARKSON My Life Would Suck W... RCA/RMG 2009 5833 5108 725
On the surface, this seems like a modest update with the rate of spin gain for MLWS slowing quite a bit. But MLWS actually gained 230 spins on LYL and is now only 59 spins away from moving into the #8 spot. So, barring anything really unusual happening, MLWS should move into the #8 spot tomorrow. Based on yesterday's update, it seemed like it wouldn't reach #8 until Saturday, so today's update is really good regarding chart movement.
The other good news for Kelly is that 'You Found Me' in #10 has not gained on MLWS in the past 24 hours. 'Right Round' is the next hottest song behind MLWS. It has now moved into #15, but its spin growth also has slowed. There is still a huge log-jam between the songs in #1 to #7, but we should finally start to see movement at the top soon. There are only 152 spins separating the #1 and #2 songs, and 162 spins separating #2 and #3. But there's still a big gap of 680 spins between #3 and #4, so we're not going to see a lot of movement in the middle part of the top 10 for awhile.

Thanks to KC United from KCE
Attitude Magazine - Interview UKs Biggest Gay Magazine
Since winning American Idol the pop singer from Texas has defied cynics by forging a successful career. With a new album due out, Ms C does her best to satisfy your burning curiosity…..
Kelly Clarkson is leaking all over the white sofa in this luxury but horribly bare hotel room in central London. No, it's not what you're thinking. It's a horse of quite a different colour. In short, her jeans. Her hands are blue from resting on them while the sofa is - thankfully! - fully wipe-downable. It's the nearest that [pop] rock goddess Kelly is ever going to get to trashing a hotel room.
Looking clean and tidy and sensible, she comes over as very warm and friendly, remembers me from last time, which is totally not in the contract, and particularly likes my belt. It's this sort of easy Texan charm that no doubt garnered Ms C the votes to win the very first American Idol before embarking on a career that - for a reality show winner or anyone come to that - has been a remarkable global success. She has the voice and gets the songs.
On the eve of her all-new, fantastic pop-punk single My Life Would Suck Without You and the album All I Ever Wanted, she settles down in her little blue puddle to answer your questions.
I love your new look on the single and album sleeve. Can you tell us what it's about and is it an indication of a shift in your music?
Erm, it's not an indication of a shift, I always come out with albums that are very diverse and there's usually a lot of soulful stuff, full of rock, pop - a little of this, so…. On this one, there's actually a little British punk as well. As for all the pictures, what I wanted to do was colourful, because we've never really done that before. This one's very candy, and overly done. It was kinda crazy. It's fun!
I haven't heard the new record but there seems to be something re-energised about you. Is this a happier Kelly Clarkson?
Oh no not at all! Just different, I guess. I've always been happy with all my records, and in life, but there are a lot of my songs where everybody always says, "You seem depressed". I'm like, "No, I'm not!" A lot of people like sad songs. And I'm always extreme, like I go way too feisty or I go way too sad. I guess you could say I'm extreme, but I'm always happy. So it's just different packaging, I wanted to do something different, change it up.
What's been the most satisfying thing about making this new album?
The satisfying thing would be I got to hand pick everyone that I worked with. So that was very fun. Katy Perry wrote I Do Not Hook Up and I mean it's almost like I wrote the song. Because it sounds like me. And I'm a fan of hers, so I recorded that for the record. I think that I Kissed A Girl was pretty perfect for her. I love that song, it's like one of my workout songs.
While on stage, does singing Because Of You still get to you? Or is it a standard thing for you now?
Erm no, it definitely gets to me. I'm highly emotional. I mean either way, I'll either cry about a Kodak commercial, or I'll get really mad really quickly for no reason. So no, I still get majorly into it. And it's touching, because it's one of the songs that every fan in the audience is singing, which kind of chokes me up in itself.
Do you find having a massive world success like Since U Been Gone both a blessing and a curse?
Oh I never would find it a curse. That would be totally pessimistic to think that. But no, I think that with that one and all the singles that I've has that have done really well I just feel blessed people like it. I never listen to my own music. The only time I ever hear my music is on tour so I don't really get tired of myself 'cause I hardly ever hear myself! And I'm very critical of myself, so if I listen to my songs I hear all of the things I could have and should have done differently.
I have a weird question: do you believe in paranormal things [UFO, or hauntings]?
I don't not believe in them. I can't do anything about it, so [laughs] I might as well not care about it. There's enough crap to worry about in our reality - but I don't not believe in it.
How would you describe a Kelly Clarkson fan?
Funily enough, usually they're very much like me, they're highly passionate. I love doing the meet and greets before the show because people really get into each individual song, and say why it's affected them. I'm like that with records, so it's just cool. So they're very intense, very loyal. I haven't had any scary ones. I'm not that unattainable kind of star, so people usually are like, "Oh, you're like my sister!"
Simon Cowell publicly spoke about his support for your last album. Do you still feel the artistic decisions you took were the right ones?
Oh of course! Every album I've pretty much had to put my foot down and be like, "No, let's do it this way." I'm a normal artist so there's always going to be battles back and forth. I love that album and the fans loved it when I toured it. Every album's always like a different story in a different time in your life, so this one's very different from the other three. I'm not really one for having to do better than the last one….I'm never like that. I guess because, it's almost like apples and oranges. Like, you can't really compare records because they're so different, and you're working with a different set of people, and it's like you're ever changing.
There was a lot of fuss about how much control you had on the last album. You even met with BMG chair Clive Davis to discuss it after he sat on it for four months. Did the experience and reaction to the album affect your confidence?
See that [is] just not true. I laugh because the whole time we were doing the last album like, even before it came out, we spent more time dispelling rumours than actually even getting to talk about the record. I've never really had anything like that happen in my career, so it was very funny to sit back and watch and just go - "What?!" What we laughed about, was that Breakaway was WAY more chaotic! And when it came out they called it like a hard-rock album which I like, "AC/DC and Van Halen are shooting themselves somewhere! [laughs] It's nowhere near rock!" People like to fabricate things to have a story, and I'm kind of a boring popstar, so people like to invent things. I mean this album was done the same as the previous three. I think the thing that knocks my confidence would probably be me. I'm my harshest critic.
If you could have written any song from the past 50 years, what would it be and why
Fifty years? Ah that would be Why, by Annie Lennox. I love that song! I love Bruce Springsteen's Secret Garden, I love that song but I wouldn't have wanted to write that. It'd be awkward. But Why, how it builds, it's not a normal song, like there's not a normal chorus bridge and I think she's one of the best performers ever.
I'm pretty much your biggest fan in the UK. But have you ever had a problem with a fan? And have you ever been sent any strange things?
No: but I always get proposed to, and I'm like, "Wow - you've no idea what you're getting into!" [laughs] What's funny is that I say that I like something and on my tours that's all I'll get….that. So, I'm thinking of saying I like diamonds! And just have everyone show up with….[laughs] But no, no they're pretty normal. No one's really weird or anything.
You used Madonna's Express Yourself as an American Idol audition piece. Do you want your career to be like hers? Any plans for a sex book?
I mean - ha ha, no to the sex book. We're very different, obviously. I'm a fan of hers and honestly, the reason why I sang that was because they had a list of ten songs that you had to sing, and I only knew two of them, and that was one, and they wanted to hear if I could sing something that wasn't a ballad. Obviously, she has the staying power of a god, but I'm very different. I see myself at 50 on some porch somewhere drinking sweet tea and hanging out with my dogs.
I saw you on tour with Clay Aiken several years ago. Fess up: you always knew he was a giant poof, didn't you?
[laughs] OK - the funniest part was when Clay told me when we were on tour and I honestly had no clue! I have zero Gayder. No, I've actually dated someone and then they've told me later on that they actually had experimented and I was like "Really?' I would never have guessed that. I have the worst Gayder in the world. And he caught me off guard because he is very dirty! He says dirty jokes about girls, he's got that Fraiser wit, so smart. I didn't see it coming. But I remember Clay told me one night on the bus, and I was like "What?" Not. A. Clue. But he's like definitely one of my closest friends out of the Idol crews.
You appeared on World Idol with Will Young and you two appeared to hit it off. Do you know him well? By the way, how embarrassing was World Idol all together?
Oh, Will! He and I, we did kind of hang out and that's because we were like, "What's going on?" But none of us actually exchanged numbers. World Idol was great for everyone: you get worldwide press, and I mean who wouldn't want that? And it was also cool to meet other people that has been through the same things as you.
How did you react to Steve Carell screaming your name in The 40-Year-Old Virgin? At my cinema it got the biggest laugh.
I thought that was pretty awesome, I love Steve Carell! [laughs] I was at the cinema to see another movie, and the preview [for The 40-Year-Old virgin] came on, and we came in late, and it was like a good seven to ten of my friends, and we were all sitting there, and all of a sudden we heard it. And I was looking at my friends it didn't seem like it was coming from the screen. And all of a sudden my friends were like… "Did he just say your name? In the movie?" And then we went home and looked it up, and sure enough… I don't know whether it's a good thing when someone's being tortured, they yell your name. [laughs] I don't know if that's a positive thing, but I'm going to run with it.
On Ugly Betty, the fabulous Justin said "I can't just be Jordin Sparks good, I need to be Kelly Clarkson Miss Independent good." Do you watch the show and love it?
Oh, that's funny. I've seen the show, I'm a big fan of her, America Ferrera, but I did not see that one. But that's awesome, that's funny. I mean I love Jordin too, she's really cute I admire her.
You look beautiful in the video for Behind These Hazel Eyes. A friend of mine dressed up as you in that wedding dress for a fancy dress party. What's the most ridiculous thing a fan has done in the name of Kelly Clarkson?
I get so many people with tattoos and I'm like, "Oh my god! That is for life!" I've seen people who've had me on their entire calf muscle or on their back. They've had me sign my autograph and then got the guy to tattoo the autograph on them. My thing is like, "Man, I'm not that cool, and you're going to regret that in ten years!" I've never been a fan like that. I love music, but I am more infatuated with music than I am the actual artists. I wasn't really allowed to have posters because I grew up pretty strict, so it was always inside my closet door - you'd open it up and all of a sudden Aerosmith and Aretha and all those people would be there.
My friend thinks you are her ideal girlfriend. Please tell me you're secretly a lesbian and would be interested in meeting her!
See, people are thinking way too highly of me, you have no idea how actually screwed up I am. I am not the ideal girlfriend at all. I am horrible at relationships. I am just extremely in love with what I do. I am willing to sacrifice everything for it. I remember I was dating a guy, and he was a really cool guy but I was traveling so much and I'm like, "No, I'm not going to come home just for you." So - I mean not to be mean. I like, tell people that up front. Oh, I did not dodge the question - no, I bat for the boys. I do. I sometimes wish that I didn't, but yeah unfortunately I do [laughs].
I secretly love From Justin To Kelly, which you seem to despise. You can see the camp value though, right? A tequila shot every time you break into song?
Oh it was a movie I had to do, and it was so horrible. Whoever won HAD to do it. I tried to get out of it legally, because I have no desire to be an actress. My favourite actresses are like Meryl Streep and Cate Blanchett and I always hate when I go to movies and I think you just shouldn't be an actress. It was horrible. I am a horrible actress. Whenever it's like a musical, or a video, I do fine. But urgh - it was horrible. I hated every minute of it. Everyone on the set will tell you that. I was nice, I was lovely to work with…. I just hated it. I will never be an actress. Ever. That's what I'm saying!
You aren't in the press very much stumbling out of clubs or causing trouble. The most shocking video I've seen of you is where you appear drunk with some friends at a baseball game. Have you been lucky or are you just a good girl?
It's not lucky, I just don't live in LA! Or New York, I live in Texas, and I go to hole-in-the-wall bars. So, there's no paparazzi there! I'm a fun girl… I'm not too hardcore and I'm not too clean-cut, I'm a good middle of the road. One thing too is that I tend to throw parties at my house. I have acres of land and we usually throw bonfires and that kind of thing. I don't want to look like some kind of lush in front of anyone, famous or not. I'm a pretty private person. But I mean privately with my friends and stuff I'm fun, but… As for those Britney shots up the skirt, when I wear skirts I do wear underwear. I felt horrible for those girls. I do not see any girl purposefully wanting to show her woo-hah. I am not in the brain of others, but I don't see anyone doing that on purpose. But here's my thing: what person is sitting there doing that, taking those pictures? They should be ashamed of themselves! That's sad!
Will any of you unreleased songs such as All I Know, Don't, Come Here, Anymore be released as studio versions in the future?
I get that question all the time. They probably will, when I get an acoustic album or something low key, something I do for the fans and we record it live or something. But I don't know if they'll ever make it….I wrote them at such a different point in my life.
Have you any idea how mental it gets in UK gay clubs like Popstarz and the Ghetto when Since U Been Gone comes on the stereo? Everyone is consumed with your energy and goes mental for it!
Yes. I was in LA and it was like a drag club. I can't remember the name of it because I usually don't go to that event. I didn't even actually go, we were driving past and my friend pointed it out and they were playing Since U Been Gone. And it was like havoc! I think it's awesome! I was like, "Right on!" It made me like want to jump into the car and be like "Yeahhh!" But… And one of my friends went to this thing called drag queen bingo and they had people dressed up as different idols, and I was one of them. Someone dressing up as me in drag! I felt very Bette Midler. Very cool.
