What? I didn't base how well I believed this song would do on how the votes of that poll played out. Before the poll was even started I had a good idea of how much it would sell and I underestimated it as well. I don't trust that the results of that poll were a good measure of how the song would perform, but I do trust that they showed an accurate depiction of what peoples expectations for the song were.

Kelly Clarkson will make history on this week's Billboard Hot 100, to be posted tomorrow (Jan. 29) on Billboard.com, with the largest leap to No. 1 in the chart's 50-year history.

Her new single, "My Life Would Suck Without You," is set to rocket 97-1 after selling 280,000 digital downloads in its first week of availability. The song is also faring well at radio, jumping 58-38 on the Hot 100 Airplay chart and 27-18 on the Mainstream Top 40 list.

WOW!! I didn't see that coming. Congratulations Kelly! I am happy for her. She deserves a record like this. It will be great promo for her CD, just like it was for Britney when she held it. I am glad that Britney got to hold on to the biggest female digital sales in a week, but Kelly is close behind. I just didn't see those kinds of numbers coming. She is obviously VERY high in demand right now, which should mean a radio-embraced era.

Oh man please stop it with all the britney talks .... please dont ruin this day for us the true kelly fans, we all werent talking about the beatles when AMLT did it the first time, we are used to see kelly as the record holder =) it had been on her resume until digital download became the HUGE influence.

Kelly did it the right way. went to iTunes the day it went officially for adds to radio. this didn't 'cheat' its way to the top.

I was one of the people who doubted her. I didnt think she had a shot at all. NA did 100K, so 250K+ seemed out of reach, especially being out this early. So did many posters here, dont be saying "i knew it" ... almost no one did.
