With 1000 spins separating them, it will take awhile for MLWS to pass Womanizer and move into #9. The next thing to look for is if MLWS can move into the top 5, and I think the answer is yes unless its rate of spin gains slows down a lot. I don't want to see it drop too much for awhile. If MLWS can keep a healthy rate up for a week or two, there will be room for it in the top 5. Soon Love Story and Circus will be briefly fighting for #1, before Sober and Gives You Hell get there. Hopefully, MLWS will be right behind them at that point. If so, it has a shot at #1. But #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 is the more important thing, publicity wise. So here's to you hanging on for one more week, Kelly! |

But, yeah , this opportunity doesnt come along often with a pop artist like kelly ...( especially 2nd,3rd single would be harder to go #1)
Single Ladies had enough weeks at #1 already anyway! lol

It will probably only take a few days for this to pass Womanizer. Yes, they may be 1000 spins apart, but Womanizer is losing quite a bit of spins. I give it 3-4 days.

Yeah, she'll definitely be #9 by Saturday at the latest. The next few weeks are going to be tough though with all the strong bulleted songs ahead of her.

I don't suppose we know yet where Kelly is on the hot 100. It would be cool if she's still at number 1 but I'm fine if she's not. She's broken a record and she's still doing awesomely well out of the gate so I'm totally cool. This is going to be a good era. I can feel it.
ETA: I don't mean to imply that the MD era wasn't good for me because I loved the record but it was disappointing in terms of sales and the negative publicity and all that crap.

MLWSWY is #1 on the Hot100 I'm 99.9% sure.....2 weeks in a row is amazing for such a high rising pop song :)

That's great- I would have been okay without it but I'm happy for it because if a song is #1 for just one week, it can dismissed a bit perhaps as a "fluke"- that people downloaded it because it was the first single and maybe not because of the song itself- but two weeks straight is no fluke, the song is genuinely liked and it's not because of other factors- I know that reasoning is a bit silly but you know how some people are- they'll use anything to downplay someone's success.

The best thing about this is that two weeks ago most people would have thought that Lady Gaga or Beyonce would be in the #1 at this point...
...Then out of nowhere comes a hot song smashing and taking its rightful throne...
