Some of you may have the right to call me crazy considering the song has some dubbed profanity, but many around me feel this is perfect easy listening that would fit great on AC radio.
Could, by any chance, "I Don't Want You Back" touch this chart by suprise? Actually, I've began to feel if not for the profanity, which AC listeners don't really like to hear, this is a sound they'd enjoy.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

No way. The AC audience is just not that open to this type of music. If it were to make the chart, it would certainly be a travesty to the AC format. I can't see any sane AC PD putting this song on the air.

Songs with lyrics like this shouldn't be on AC radio ;)
Seriously, no way will this get AC play.

The statement in your second sentence pretty much answers the question posed in your first sentence. That is, "No way".

Yes, the answer to the question is obvious.

Wow, it sure sounds unanimous.
I thought it was worthy bringing this up for analysis considering there are moments more Urban or CHR/Rhythmic tracks do chart the Top 30. Take "Dilemma" for instancd, which dented at #27 I believe.
Perhaps that same DJ who added "You Don't Know My Name" just might pick Eamon up too! LOL!

Dilemma did not make the AC chart, did it!!!! :o :o :o I recall "Dilemma" did indeed chart. Not in a huge way, but still noteworthy it actually peaked at #27. Unlike "I Don't Want You Back", Nelly is able to refrain from profanity in that particular single, yet to me nothing was appealing to AC about that song to me at least. And knowing "Dilemma" did go somewhere, THAT'S what justified me in bringing up this topic, if somehow AC listeners didn't notice where the chorus kick-off "F It" or the few uses of the S word are dubbed and Eamon actually charts the Top 30. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

"Dilemma" never made the AC chart, or even new and active for that matter.
And there's no way "F:Dk It" will make the AC chart either.

Let me get this straight: songs with profanity belong on CHR and rhythmic stations, which has a lot of young people listening, but it's not OK for it to be heard on adult radio? What's the logic in that? For the record, I don't think "F--- It" belongs AC, but it was just a thought.

What's the logic in that? Young people tolerate profanity because they use it frequently; mature adults do not.

Eamon has about as much of a chance on AC as he does on Smooth Jazz.

Perhaps that same DJ who added "You Don't Know My Name" just might pick Eamon up too! LOL! That's not even comparable. Is it because they're doing black influenced music? I think that's ridiculous. Alicia's sounds like any other 70's or 80's soul song that an AC station would play. If they can play Jeffrey Osborne or Anita Baker or any of those artists, Alicia wouldn't do any harm to an AC station.

I'm not saying Adult Contemporary should play Eamon, but golden eagle boy has a point in that some AC listeners go to movies and hear the bad words Eamon says. In the way of whether adults or kids listen to and watch the inappropiate stuff, movies and music are opposites. It's much easier for a 10 year old to download Eamon than to get into an equally inappopriate movie by himself (unless he or she is shown the inappropriate movie in school).
