Gina Thompson, The singer who brought us, "The Things You Do", "You Bring The Sunshine", & "Ya Di Ya" is back with her 3rd studio album, 2nd to be released, on February 24, 2009!
Make sure you check it out her unique and gifted voice, which should be a pleasant surprise and relief for the dying R&B genre!

And her new material is nothing to write home about. People need to wrap their head around the concept that going indie does not mean you have to record "budgeted" material.

And her new material is nothing to write home about. People need to wrap their head around the concept that going indie does not mean you have to record "budgeted" material. Exactly! I'm looking at the Web site of Koch Records, and I see a truckload of current and former A-list artists on their roster; many of whom have gone gold at least once (some of them as members of Koch), some of whom have gone platinum, and a few who managed to go 2X. They may be an independent record company, but from where I'm sittin', they certainly don't seem to be the kind of indie company that treats their artists as if money is always tight over there. To be quite blunt, I must say that the majors are far stingier today than the indies, and have been for the better part of the entire decade. By the way, if you look at their Koch Entertainment site, you may notice that they have bought pretty much the entire catalog of Death Row Records.
