Thia does not sound all that great to me. I really she could successfully go back to the "Bye Bye", "I'm Alright", "Lesson in Leavin", type sound. She used to be more edgy.

Ugh! You would think that both Jo Dee And Martina would figure out that the self-help tunes have done neither of there careers any favors at this point.

Thia does not sound all that great to me. I really she could successfully go back to the "Bye Bye", "I'm Alright", "Lesson in Leavin", type sound. She used to be more edgy. I think the demons have destroyed her. She looks like she's about 60 now, and she probably feels that way too. Maybe her heart just isn't in it anymore. "My Give a Damn's Busted" was a welcome return to the edgy Jo Dee, but somehow it disappeared again. We got a fun bit of nonsense in "Delicious Surprise" (honey from a pickle jar, with up so floating many bells down, or something like that), assertive anthem #34,829 in "Not Going Down", and then "It's Too Late to Worry", which was solid but not particularly distinctive save for a ton of suspended chords. If this song goes nowhere (which I wouldn't doubt), then I think that she should say "I'm done" for real.

"I'm Done" was way better than this, and that did nothing. I assume this will do the same.

Jo Dee and Martina can both just go away until they have something interesting to say that we haven't heard from them a million times before. So boring and uninspired.

I feel like I'm the only person that enjoyed Biker Chick, haha.
Burn was such a solid album and Delicious Surprise had a lot of good songs, what's going on with her?

"I'm Done" was way better than this, and that did nothing. I assume this will do the same. I, unfortunately, completely agree with this. I thought "I'm Done" was great, and was the edgy song she needed to make her comeback with. Since that flopped, I don't think she'll ever really make a comeback, unfortunately. Just based on the clip, "Shine" doesn''t sound that great; just more of the same "Was That My Life"-type of stuff. That's not what she needs to return her to the top 10.

It's really great to know she's back, but there's a strange feeling about a lot of things about her comeback!
She's been trying to release her album for almost two years now, the Curb's president says it's her best record to date, and then she appears with a song like that... I don't dislike the song at all, but its connection to Martina's new single AND album make it a little less worthy.
But the song itself really speaks like Jo Dee. That's not a masterpiece as her previous songs, but it has her style, even with a less of power. At least she continues to be true to herself and doesn't get lost in the way.

The verses are much better than the chorus, having heard the whole song. However, I am still not optimistic of this cracking the Top 20.

And, actually, the whole song is a little better than I thought it would be. Not great... but not bad. But I guess that's been about par for the course for Jo Dee recently.

i agree with most of you that after hearing the full song it is much better than i expected and much less "inspirational" than i thought it would be, it's in the same vein lyric wise as "was that my life" which i enjoyed. but again as much as i want this to, i do not see this being anything huge.

I like the full song much better than I thought I would based on the clip, however I still don't think this will do all that well. Top 30 at best, and even that might be a stretch.

I think it's too fluffy to get farther than that. I've heard JDM has recorded some great songs for the new album, and I've actually heard her do "Unmistakable" and it's an amazing track.. not sure why those songs haven't been sent to radio. But I think we're about at the end of her run as an established artist on country radio. Taylor and Carrie will see to the death of JDM, I'm afraid..

I don't know how many times I have said it, but I do not understand what happened to her "edge".

Ten Pound Hammer I will let you know. I am seeing her in concert for the first time ever next weekend April 18th. I will see what she has to say about this song as well.

I liked 'I'm Done', but like alot of her songs its a bit 'wtf?'...kinda weird. I don't expect radio to play her and I was shocked when My Give A Damns Busted was simulaneously #1 on the albums and singles chart.
