Ok so I saw her last night in one of her 12 acoustic music room series shows. First she was 100% on point vocally. Make no mistake- she still has the voice and then some. Her personality is amazing. She was even making fun of herself regarding her post baby weight that she is still trying to lose. There was no mention of the song "Shine" at all. Audience participation decided how the show would go with requests and questions. It was very cool. However two times her new CD was questioned. Once (when will it ever come out) and second time questioner asked if Tim McGraw could help her in anyway (though he is going thru the exact same thing. She said she spoke to him 4 days ago and he has his "own thing oging on with the label"). You could see some hurt, sadness and tension from her which is totally understandable. She said once anyone records and turns in their music - it is no longer theirs. It is up to the label to pretty much use it or lose it. She was able to say the label cannot stop her going out to do shows for people and that they are working on recording an entire new album since the other was done a few years ago and has now had at least 3 supposed releases dates. Overall she was great and I would love for her to comeback strong. She deserves it and it just makes more angry that the american idol reality show puppet is killing the careers of all the older female country stars. So I guess I would consider "Shine" to be overwith. I was lucky enough to hear it 4 or 5 times in mid March.

That's a shame that she's still having all of these issues with Curb. When I saw her live a few years ago (it was either a few months before or after Delicious Surprise came out - she sang a few songs from it), she talked a bit about her frustrations with the label. That time it had to do with singing songs she didn't like (specifically referring to the new tracks on her greatest hits album). It's unfortunate that these problems are persisting. She's one who, along with Terri Clark, went from having #1 hits to barely being able to crack the top 40 in a fairly short amount of time. Going at least 5 years in between studio albums (which I realize is not her fault at all) doesn't help matters much.

Does anyone know how many albums she still owes Curb before she can leave?

I've been hearing this on my local station at least once a day...guess my station is one of the few who played it.
