Since I can't seem to find anyone who has " Dick Clark's US Music Survey Top 60 of 2003", I've decided to go ahead and peek at the A/C Top 100 of the year. I see two songs that charted only in New & Active on the chart. "Miss Independent" is at #100 and at #98 is John Mayer's "Why Georgia". I checked the weekly charts three times and didn't find either of these songs on the chart at any time. I thought that R&R only used songs that only made New & Active if there were less than 100 songs making the weekly chart within the year. I counted and there were more than 100 songs charting this year. And what are songs like "Escape" by Enrique Iglesias and "Original Sin" by Elton John doing on the chart? Those songs had both fallen off the chart before the end of the 2002 chart year. If they included recurrent songs, there should have been other songs on the chart that were bigger. Of course I haven't checked the top half of the chart yet, but I assume that it looks a lot more consistent than songs 51-100. Anyone know what's up with this weird year end chart?
