hahahaha. I can't believe how much I'm starting to like this song. But when it comes down to it, it has an impeccable production. The collaboration with Aleks Syntek, Noel (from Sin Bandera), and David Bisbal is obviously a strategy by Luis Fonsi to get more exposure and expand his fan base. He is still mostly known in his native Puerto Rico and USA. It's also really funny how the song pretty much sounds like a singing competition; each guy is trying to outsing the others.
My pick as the winner: Aleks Syntek, of course .

So, what is this mess for? Teleton? a donation campaign? I'm usually picky with mega collaborations because usually there is a risk of who gets the highest or largest note... and this was no exception. Besides, I am not a fan of Luis Fonsi. I liked his last hit, but before that he never convinced me with his songs, and I'm not fan of his whiny voice. Neither a big fan of Aleks. He has good songs but I'm not a fan of his nasal voice. Noel is okay, but his voice sounds MUCH better with his partner in Sin Bandera. I like David Bisbal, but in many cases he just oversings, and this was the case too IMO. Not a great song, IMO, and it sounded more like a hot mess of not very good voices.

I realize too that Aleks Syntek doesn't have a great voice. The other three are probably better singers. But I have always gravitated towards artists who can convey emotion in their voices, rather than being extraordinary vocalists. Aleks, Thalia, Ely Guerra, Chetes, Fiona Apple, Pete Yorn are all great interpreters while not necessarily great vocalists.

En mi opinion, y como has estado diciendo en su post arriba, that LuisFo is obviously widening his fanbase. And for me, I think, that he could be Juanes' counterpart,chart-performance-wise, even though they belong in different genre..

According to Billboard, this song already reached the #2 spot, together with its concurrent single No Me Doy por Vencido at #1. I think Luisfo just broke the record what mi Shaki hizo por La Tortura (24 o 26 semanas, no estoy seguro)en Billboard y posiblemente, tambien en la lista de Guinness :(

I didn't know that "no me doy por vencido" had been No. 1 for so long. That song is awful!

The song is good at first. But it's so cheesy if you repeat it all over again. I haven't heard Aqui Estoy Yo (OFFTOPIC: hey kinglouie, have you heard "Nandito Ako" by Thalia? A Tagalog song that could be translated as Estoy Aqui (Shakira) or Aqui Estoy Yo (LuisFo). It's so sentimental. Shakira must release her CD now to beat him. (Am not expecting for Thalia anymore on her music at this time..)

eew bro, Luis Fonsi acted so cocky in Los Premios Lo Nuestro while he was singing this song. What was up with his movements as he was singing. His success is going to his head and quick.
