Dropper:
From #20: Love's Divine/Seal
AT20 Extras:
Fields Of Gold/Sting
The Sign/Ace Of Base
Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology)/Marvin Gaye
You Gotta Be/Des'ree
Long Distance Dedications:
Kind & Generous/Natalie Merchant
Unwell/Matchbox Twenty
AT20 Archives:
1975: Black Water/Doobie Brothers
1982: Leader Of The Band/Dan Fogelberg
1989: My Heart Can't Tell You No/Rod Stewart
1992: What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted/Paul Young
1998: My Heart Will Go On/Celine Dion
Looks like there's only going to be two Long Distance Dedications per week from now on. When they played "Mercy Mercy Me" as a second extra in Hour 2, I got that feeling. Also, I found myself wondering why they were repeating the second verses in so many songs and I was thinking that maybe there was going to be only four AT20 Archive songs instead of the usual five (that happened the other weekend, as I recall). But when they played the fifth Archive song, I was wondering what was up, especially since they played it after the number five song instead of after number three like they usually do. But it was all because the second Long Distance Dedication was a song that was also in the countdown.
The biggest jumper on the survey is what could be the next number one song after Shania Twain (unless Train makes it after all), "You Lift Me Up" by Josh Groban. It looks poised to take the top spot of the R&R A/C chart real soon and could also do so on AT20, but I have a feeling it'll take awhile, since it's higher up on the R&R chart (owing to being played on Delilah, I imagine). Or maybe it'll pull a "Beautiful" and peter out at number two on AT20 while spending two months atop the R&R chart. As a result, "Forever And For Always" might stay up there for a long time and become the top song of 2004.
I wonder if the fact that there are now only two Long Distance Dedications has anything to do with the AT10 rumor?
