^Plus Keyshia Cole has had many other songs enter the R&B that did not got Top 10 (if we're counting features). I mean, is she given lead credit on "Last Night" and ''When You Gonna..." or is she featured? Because if you count features, her streak was broken long ago.

Ah, I forgot about Janet! This is the longest streak of this decade right? And since Janet? I think Ashanti has the longest streak this decade, with twelve consecutive singles going Top 10 (counting features): 01. Always on Time (with Ja Rule): #1 02. What's Luv? (with Fat Joe): #3 03. Foolish: #1 04. Happy: #6 05. Down 4 U (Irv Gotti Presents The Inc.): #3 06. Baby: #7 07. Mesmerize (with Ja Rule): #5 08. Into You (with Fabolous): #6 09. Rock wit U (Awww Baby): #4 10. Rain on Me: #2 11. Wonderful (with Ja Rule & R. Kelly): #3 12. Only U: #10 A note, though: after airplay-only songs were allowed to chart on the R&B and Hot 100 charts in late 1998, it has become extremely difficult to score more than 4-5 consecutive hits, because of album tracks being played along with the singles, and because buzz/heater tracks are going to debut on the chart regardless of their status. In Keyshia's case, her streak was broken when "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" debuted and peaked at #58 around Christmas time last year. In addition to Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Keyshia had a lot of featured songs that messed up the streak also...

LOL, true. I forgot about those less successful features, like Jaheim's "I've Changed", for example.

I find it strange that that song flopped as I thought it was really good. I'm not 100% sure. But if it wasn't Jeezy's song, it was either Jaheim's "I've Changed" or Trina's "I Gotta Thang For You", which officially went for adds last year. As I said before, it's virtually impossible to go rack up many consecutive Top 10s in the airplay-oriented climate of the R&B chart, especially when you count features as well.

Keyshia has the oddest runs @ Urban. Just when you think it's stalling, it goes Top 10, and then...major hit.

they did really well at the BET awards. Monica is seriously coming hard now. It's like her mentality now is "BRING IT!!!". Keyshia was good but Monica was ON POINT.
I'd still give the "run" to Keyshia for this decade, I've always always always resented Ashanti getting so much credit when literally HALF of those songs she was featured, and often not even that prominently. (And if anyone was wondering, Monica had a run of 7 top 10 R&B hits until "Street symphony" flopped, or 9 if you count those early double A-sides as two songs [Like This & Like That and Ain't Nobody]

I just re-watched the performance again today. They both did fantastic.
Keyshia deserves the run, especially if you just count her own songs. She would have it (as long as this goes top10, and her future singles do)

Features should always HELP the artist streak. I think it can work both ways. If you include her own songs, then she has it.

That's why they should be excluded when discussing her streak. But anyway it's not even a big deal.

Monica has sounded amazing on the performances that I have heard. I really hope that she will be successful with the new album.

Keyshia has the oddest runs @ Urban. Just when you think it's stalling, it goes Top 10, and then...major hit. HAHA have 2 agree with that. But it still really disappoints me that this album doesn't even have a top40 hit up till now. Hope the forthcoming "This is Us" could be a breakthrough for ADM.
