I could've sworn I remembered reading somewhere that they would stop putting out albums from him.

This is not a new album. This is an unreleased album recorded in 1996. The Death Row catalog was recently sold.

5 THINGS YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT THE TUPAC HOLOGRAMTupac Shakur stole the show with his lifelike performance of “Hail Mary” and “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted” during Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s Coachella set on Sunday. The haunting hologram of the late legend was all the buzz by Monday morning, with many questions being asked and answered. Find out what Pac’s mother thought, who envisioned the idea, and how much it cost. 1. Tupac’s protective mother Afeni Shakur was “positively thrilled” after seeing her son back on stage, according to TMZ. While she was not in attendance at the festival, she did watch the live stream on YouTube. 2. Dr. Dre asked Afeni for approval to incorporate her son into his performance and she agreed. As a thank you, Dre reportedly made a donation to the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation. 3. The Tupac hologram was Dre’s idea. He called on San Diego-based company AV Concepts, who took nearly four months to create it in a studio. “We worked with Dr. Dre on this and it was Dre’s vision to bring this back to life,” Nick Smith, president of AV Concepts, told MTV News. “It was his idea from the very beginning and we worked with him and his camp to utilize the technology to make it come to life.” 4. The exact cost of bringing Pac back to life for one night is undisclosed, but is estimated in the price range of $100,000 to upwards of $400,000. 5. According to Daz Dillinger, Nate Dogg was originally supposed to appear as a hologram as well, but a last-minute decision was made not to use him. Instead photos of the late rapper flashed across the screen as Snoop performed “Ain’t No Fun.” www.rap-up.com/2012/04/16/5-things-you-didnt-know-about-the-tupac-hologram/

TUPAC HOLOGRAM MAY TOUR WITH DR. DRE AND SNOOP DOGGThe Tupac Shakur hologram may be coming to a city near you. If you didn’t get to see the haunting image in-person at Coachella this weekend, you may be in luck. There are already talks for the resurrected rapper to tour with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg in the coming months. The virtual Pac became a viral sensation after he performed “Hail Mary” and “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted” with Snoop in the desert. The 2-D image, which is technically not a hologram, was created by Digital Domain Media Group Inc. and reportedly cost between $100,000 and $400,000 to produce. After the overwhelming response, The Wall Street Journal reports that Dre and Snoop plan to continue conversations for a tour involving themselves and the lifelike Pac. One option could involve a stadium tour with other hip-hop stars on the bill, including Eminem, 50 Cent, and Wiz Khalifa, or a smaller scale outing with only Dre, Snoop, and the virtual Tupac, playing smaller venues. Dre and his team first approached the visual-effects house a year ago with the idea. “This is just the beginning,” said Ed Ulbrich, Digital Domain’s chief creative officer. “Dre has a massive vision for this.” Tupac will rise again during the West Coast icons’ headlining set at next weekend’s festival on April 22. www.rap-up.com/2012/04/17/tupac-hologram-may-tour-with-dr-dre-and-snoop-dogg/

SUGE KNIGHT I'm NOT CONVINCED 2pac is Really Dead
There is a VERY good chance Tupac Shakur is alive and well ... and hiding ... this according to the man who was with him during the supposedly fatal shooting in Vegas, Suge Knight.
Knight just appeared on 93.5 KDay in L.A. with Tattoo and Cee Cee ... and pumped some major fuel into the biggest urban legend in hip hop ... that Tupac FAKED his own death.
Knight says his theory explains why cops never found his murderer -- because there was no murder.
"Maybe the question is ... Pac's not really dead ... pac's somewhere else," Knight says.
When asked if he ever saw Tupac's body following the 1996 shooting, he adds, "Nobody seen Tupac dead. "
Knight explains, "The person who supposedly cremated Tupac ... this guy got about 3 million dollars .. personally from me ... cash ... and next thing I know I never heard from the guy or seen him again ... he retired and left."

DR. DRE DISPELS TUPAC HOLOGRAM TOUR RUMORSShortly before taking the stage on the final day of Coachella, Dr. Dre made a video to thank everyone for their love and support for his two shows in the desert. Checking in from backstage at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, Calif., the West Coast icon also shot down reports that he created the Tupac Shakur hologram for a tour with Snoop Dogg. “I want to get rid of all the rumors out there,” said Dre. “This was not done for a tour. If a tour happens, we’ll see. This was done strictly for Coachella 2012.” The Wall Street Journal previously reported that Dre and Snoop were plotting a tour involving themselves and the holographic Pac, which reportedly cost between $100,000 and $400,000 to produce. www.rap-up.com/2012/04/23/dr-dre-dispels-tupac-hologram-tour-rumors/

TUPAC BIOPIC HEADED TO THE BIG SCREENSeventeen years after his death, the legendary Tupac Shakur will be resurrected on the big screen in a new biopic. Morgan Creek Productions and Emmett Furla Films are in final negotiations to partner on the film entitled Tupac, it was announced today. Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, has signed on as executive producer. Tupac will be produced by James G. Robinson, David Robinson, and LT Hutton along with Randall Emmett and George Furla. The film, which is reportedly budgeted at $45 million, centers around the life of the hip-hop icon, who was shot and killed in Las Vegas in 1996 at the age of 25. Production is slated to begin next year in Atlanta. According to Deadline.com, producers have the rights to use Tupac’s musical catalog. While a biopic has yet to be made, Tupac was previously portrayed on film by Anthony Mackie in Notorious, the 2009 movie about the Notorious B.I.G. www.rap-up.com/2013/09/19/tupac-biopic-headed-to-the-big-screen/

Tupac Shakur Musical 'Holler If Ya Hear Me' Will Hit Broadway Early This Summer
Hip hop lovers, if you haven't been to Broadway yet, this summer would be the time to make that trip. Holler If Ya Hear Me, the musical inspired by Tupac Shakur, has officially been given an opening date. The Kenny Leon-directed production will premiere in New York City's Palace Theatre May 26 and then will officially open June 19. The non-biographical musical's description is as follows: "Holler If Ya Hear Me, the world inside Tupac Shakur's music and lyrics, blazes to life in a non-biographical story about friendship, family, revenge, change and hope. Inner city lives struggle for peace against the daily challenges they face in this entertaining and original musical. Through the poetry of one of the 20th century’s most influential and culturally prominent voices, we are given a window into realities of the streets still relevant today." Holler If Ya Hear Me was penned by Todd Kreidler and will be produced by Tupac's mother, Afeni Shakur, Eric L. Gold, Chunsoo Shin and Jessica Green. Casting has not been announced. www.vibe.com/article/tupac-shakur-musical-holler-if-ya-hear-me-will-hit-broadway-early-summer
