After all this time, I'm surprised to see this debut on the AC chart. Delilah must've given the song a spin or two.

Interesting to see this one charting after hanging around below the chart for so long. Looking at www.mmr247.com/mmrweb/AllAccess/Details.asp?sngcde=KAMAOTR+&format=A1R we can see that it's actually in rotation on quite a few stations, and looking at www.mmr247.com/mmrweb/AllAccess/Charts.asp?format=A0m&showtopn=500&GRC=RC it gains over 100 spins from last week. I wonder if its inclusion in "50 First Dates" is helping it out, even though it's not on the soundtrack. It's already been on the soundtracks to "Meet Joe Black" (1998) and "Finding Forrester" (2000). I always wondered about this song and artist but never had the chance to look them up. Turns out this song first appeared on his solo debut, "Ka 'Ano'i" in 1990 and a longer version was on his album "Facing Future" in 1993. Sadly, he died at age 38 in 1997, of weight issues, as he weighed up to 750 pounds at times.

The song was used during the closing credits of "Finding Forrester".

He went for adds like 2 or so weeks ago. I'm surprised too that he made the AC chart... I remember seeing his name on the playlist of an AAA station and thinking WTF?
