"Old White Lincoln" is the next single to be taken from The Gaslight Anthem's second album "The '59 Sound". It is the follow-up to the breakthrough hit "The '59 Sound" that peaked at #35 on Billboard Hot Modern Rock Tracks.
Goes for adds to Alternative/Modern Rock radio on April 14th.

Breakthrough hit? lol
I'll check this song out, I never heard 59 on the radio so I randomly looked it up one day and loved it. A shame it didn't do better, also a shame that I caught on so late.

I don't really think I'll be checking this out. That 59 sound...well sounded kinda terrible to me.
I just don't like their sound is all. Lol.

"The '59 Sound" is awesome. I'd love to check out the album at some point. Will have to keep an ear out for this one.

You do realize the song's been on the chart for 24 weeks and counting, right? Would your band not kill for 24 weeks on the chart, even with a peak of only #37?

I actually got into this one before I got into "The '59 Sound". Great single choice.

Yes, but when I think of a "Breakthrough Hit" I think of a song that's gonna make an artist a mainstay for years to come. You're free to have your own interpretation though.

They already made a video for this last year, so this was kind of expected. They also made a video for "Great Expectations" recently. I like both better than "The '59 Sound," which I've only had the pleasure of hearing once on the radio. That could potentially change now that I have an HD radio up and running. Unless the station in question has already moved on...

I think there are many standards for what you can call a "breakthrough hit".

^Yep, and what starts as a breakthrough hit doesn't necessarily end up that way either.

I think I may have to keep an eye out for this very underrated band because this is now the second song from them that I think is absolutely great. The '59 Sound if I'm not mistaken barely scraped the Top 50, so I can't see this doing much better even though I think personally it deserve to at least go Top 20.

This song's pretty alright. As Nick mentioned it was kind of expected.
I don't know that they're really "underrated" though although I guess it depends on your circle. They're pretty well respected by plenty of fans and critics.
