1988: I Get Weak/Belinda Carlisle
1990: All My Life/Linda Ronstadt f/Aaron Neville
1999: Written In The Stars/Elton John w/LeAnn Rimes
It was a rather pleasant surprise to hear a song that is otherwise ignored by A/C radio (the Elton/LeAnn song). Otherwise, the list of non-countdown songs is stuff you hear on an A/C station at least once a day. Of course, they all are good songs, so that's cool; it's just that if these AT10 rumors are true, then the whole show will be commonplace A/C music. With songs 11-20, at least we get to hear a song or two that'll be completely forgotten by A/C radio in years, if not just months, to come. Of course, there has been no official confirmation (that I know of) that the show will be cut back. It was supposedly going to happen the week of February 14 - guess what - it didn't. Now, there are unfounded rumors that the show will be cut back to ten songs on March 20. A little over a week from now, we'll find out if that's another cry of "wolf", and then we'll know not to believe anymore such rumors. Still, I brace myself each week before the show starts so I won't be too disappointed
Anyway, now I'll let Ev come on in to present the next three "bubbling under" hits...
