Flashing Lights: I didn't say that all straight men don't listen to PCD, which I know you're not doing, but 30 people will come in and tell me I'm generalizing and stereotyping, because I'm not. I'm just stating that a greater majority of straight men (probably in the 90%) do not listen to PCD. I like PCD because of their hot songs and ofcourse im too HOT for Nicole. Shes freakin HOT and i just want to watch their videos mostly than boyband or rockband. For some reasons you still cant blame people that youre stereotyphing but somehow i understand your point. I'm not stereotyping anybody. If I was, I would say that all straight men don't listen to PCD. |

Ugh, I always hate sexual orientation stereotypes when it comes to music. If a song is catchy, it's likely that a lot of people of both genders and orientations are gonna like it, even if the lyrics are geared towards a certain audience. It's the music that hooks people in not the lyrics, and I don't think any particular kind of music is geared towards gay/straight or male/female. It's the lyrics that are sometimes geared towards those audiences, but again a song can appeal to everyone regardless of the lyrics.

I don't think there were any stereotypes being made. People just get way too defensive, think they are being "attacked", and start making something out of nothing, when that is hardly the case at all and shouldn't happen.

A generalization would be that straight men follow those female singers cause they think they're hot.
I hate how only in the USA are straight men ridiculed for liking dance music or female singers. I am not straight but I have straight friends who have faced it.
