You must try really hard to actually flop harder than "Candyman," but this suceeded. where did candyman peaked?

Well, most artists really can't promote all thorughout their era's because it does become costly. Most do it at the beginning, which PCD did alot of, and then for the rest of the era just do 1 or 2 appearances. PCD usually is one of the bes when it comes to promo but at this point I don't think promo would even help HH. That's likely true. Although I'm thinking it would have helped at least if both their album and tour sold a lot more. That would have guaranteed them enough money in the bank, some of which would go into an extra bit of promotion for their latest single (though not as big like early in the era) but still, enough for people to care or take notice. Of course, with the way their label handled things this era, that's quite a bit of money that went to waste.

LOL. our station plays this song always. I hope this will do better than Jai ho In Canada, so far it seems like "Jai Ho" is doing a lot better than "Hush Hush". But here, it's too early to tell since only a few CHR stations have the track on their playlists (and no word from Mediabase whether it has gone for adds in that format). Only 3 or 4 stations in Hot AC have added the track to their playlist, including mine, and Mediabase has taken notice of that. LOL

I heard this on 92 PRO-FM. The first time I heard it, I was like "I wonder what song will be sampled in this one?" (It came on after Right Round). And sure enough, there it was attempting to steal some of Gloria Gaynor's light. Unfortunately, it just doesn't work for this song. I'm not a fan of it, and haven't been a fan of this era in general (I Hate This Part was just OK).

If this doesn't pick up in any charts, I really think it's the end for PCD.

If this doesn't pick up in any charts, I really think it's the end for PCD. ::)Yeah because 'When I Grow Up" and "I Hate This Part" did just as bad. They could do a third album...even with this flopping... although, it IS the end if Nicole decides to do another solo try...

all i'm hoping is that they all learn from this terrible run and come out better than ever for the next album (if there is one). and it wasn't a complete loss, WIGU & IHTP did very well and JH! did well worldwide.

I luved PCD during " don't cha " era when they came back l liked "WIGU" and " I hate this part " but something was totally off this era like seriously I think Nicole trying going solo rubbed off on this era they didn't have that long stand like the PCD era had. Hush Hush ; Hush Hush was a bad choice and to put the remix out shows that the label has given up on them. Bottle Pop was the best choice but put a horrible video out for that and didn't promote it. Why would they put a great video for a horrible single like hush hush not bottle pop they got it backwards. Better luck next time they got one of the best labels though interscope has them toured out. If Nicole is going solo again I don't know if the group will return their not getting any younger.

I'm not sure if it's already been mentioned in this thread but this song has also been unofficially promoted as "Hush Hush (I Will Survive)" as opposed to just "Hush Hush" or worse, "Hush Hush: Hush Hush".
To be honest, I actually prefer "Hush Hush (I Will Survive)" as the title used to set apart the remix from the original. Not only does it acknowledge the song featured in the remix, but I would assume many people would know what "I Will Survive" is and that it's an upbeat song.
My guess here is that there's a drawback to this, being that if this song does not become a hit, then Gloria Gaynor would not want to have a timeless hit song of hers attached to a flop single, by any means, even if it's just the title.
Overall, the song crediting is just messed up. Billboard has been listing Nicole as a featured artist while Mediabase does not, but they did add to the title as a means of distinguishing the remix from the original. The music video channels simply go with the original title and the Pussycat Dolls even when playing the remix. Not sure what the label has done, but from what I last read, they removed Nicole's name amidst speculation that she was leaving the group - of course, they were obviously saving face there.

Everytime I hear this song or watch the video, there's some lyrics in the end that keep me thinking it's Nicole sending a message to the rest of the Dolls, not to mention the tone at which she sings it:
"THERE IS NO OTHER WAY, I GET THE FINAL SAY!"
I don't know - sometimes it makes me want to cringe or whatever...but one could easily think that this song sort of sums up what Nicole thinks of the other members, if they have an opinion about something, she'll just shut them down.
And this is what she seems to be doing with this song. Yes, it deals with a woman coming to terms with a break-up that quickly turns into a newfound independence and female empowerment, yet one can't help but think that this also represents Nicole's relationship with the rest of the Dolls, within the group, of course. Why else would she get to perform this version on tour, and then this goes on to become released for radio airplay? That lyric along with the bit of "I Will Survive" is almost like putting a nail in their coffin, so to speak. Forgive me if I'm reading a little too much into this...LOL

haha the whole "i will survive" think is kind of ironic because they are pretty much dead right now. well, i guess a little optimism never hurt anyone hahaha.

haha the whole "i will survive" think is kind of ironic because they are pretty much dead right now. well, i guess a little optimism never hurt anyone hahaha. Interesting you mention that, because it seems to me the whole thing makes Nicole come across as self-indulgent, like she's rubbing it in the faces of the other Dolls and somehow eventually getting the last laugh. I don't mean to paint her as the bad person in all this, I just have the impression that a lot of PCD fans have been provoked enough and that she's been unexpectedly asking for it. Granted, I can respect that she has her plans worked out beyond just being one of the Dolls - not only does she want to get her solo album off the ground, apparently she's been reading scripts and interested for a role in a biopic about boxer Manny Pacquiao (given her Filipino roots), but at times, it comes across like she's not professional and just bragging all the time. Perhaps if this was under different circumstances (better album sales, less infighting, more group chemistry), this wouldn't spark as much attention and it would easily go away.

LOL What is it about Nicole that makes her unlikeable? LMAO...
I did see her and the OTHER Pussycat Dolls live when they opened for Britney in Boston and they were great. They did not perform this song or Bottle Pop as Jai Ho was the single during March.
I actually really love this song, the ballad version (which is the original HUSH HUSH< I think.) and the dance mix (done by Dave Aude_I think..) the one without the I WILL SURVIVE mash-up but it's a dance mix still is the one I also LOVE LOVE LOVE!
I don't care where it charts or goes as long as we have that awesome video to enjoy as a single!

The video is just alright - I'm right down the middle, so the single's bearable enough to me for as long as it's around.
I'm not exactly saying that I don't like Nicole (I refuse to use the word "hate" to avoid coming off harsh). Given the circumstances however, I guess, her likeability factor is not quite what it used to be. Maybe it's just me, but when I end up reading too much into a song and relate it to anything regardless, this is what ends up happening. And yes, I question what makes her unlikeable. LOL

U mean likeable? I'm not sure either way. She is the Pussycat Dolls. I don't think they could go on with out her but on the same token I don't think she can make it as a solo artist. There are too many female solo artists out there already and there really is no room for her. LOL. She is better off sticking with the Dolls and cranking out a new album soon. No Greatest Hits yet, it's not time. Hush Hush could be a very slow riser. Anything is possible. Look at Who Knew by Pink and Lady Gaga's Just Dance run's!

Despite everything I've said, I am hoping at least this song can do well. Because no summer would be complete without the Pussycat Dolls having a decent-sized hit (and I mean that in a good way). That being said, the field of contenders this year is large for them to accomplish that, so they definitely have their work cut out. But it certainly wouldn't hurt if they can get something out of this, all things considered with everything that's happened with this era. If they can do that, we could see them put out "Painted Windows" not only to mark the re-release but also a proper way to turn the page.

OMG I would love for Painted Windows to be the next single with a proper release and just IMAGINE what the music video could be like.
Is there any good PCD MEGAMIXES from Don't Cha to this DD era?

i'm sick of this slow rise crap. gain fast or drop! i'm tired of this happening with every pcd song. this is valuable time being wasted that could go towards painted windows as the summer single.
