Goes for adds April 27th. Name sounds like it was pulled out of a generic hard rock band name lotto. So does their music. www.myspace.com/dividethedayAnd their single sounds like the lyrics were cobbled together from every other sleaze rock single on the charts right now. So basically I'm posting about this band just to make fun of them, yep.

I really hope not. I miss when hard rock bands actually had some diversity to them. People hated nu-metal when it was around but that genre at least has more creativity behind it than the current glut of cock rockers.

I thought you said you liked cock rock. I didn't hate it when "Crazy Bitch" came out. But I didn't know it was going to usher in an era of sleaze and good ol' rock & roll.

Well, some people include some bands in cock rock that don't belong there. I like Buckcherry. I dunno, I didn't think that when Hinder got big it was going to spread like an infection. I didn't even think Hinder was going to be the success they were. Now I'm just sick of it. Even bands I love and respect are making songs to match the trend, and that pisses me off.

My friends and I joke that Sevendust, System Of A Down, and Chevelle are gonna go cock rock on their next albums to compete at hard rock radio. I'm hoping that joke has no reality in it whatsoever.

This band is pretty odd. Not because they're a Hinder-like, but because they put out an album a few years ago that was completely different. They were a post-hardcore/punk band.

Well Rev Theory changed their sound to Hinder-lite, when they were......well......generic hard rock anyway, maybe that's not such a great example.

Rev Theory is Hinder-lite in the cock rock sense, but they're Hinder-Xtreme in that they're substantially heavier.
And "Far From Over" sounds more like their Revelation Theory days, so they have only partially transformed.

If the band is reading these boards. I have good news and bad news. The good news is that I think this song is pretty catchy and think it's going to do rather well especially on Active Rock. Pertaining to the good, comes the bad news. It sounds just like half of the songs already on the chart, but as I said since it sounds similar, it should follow in the footsteps of the latter.

Or conversely, the chart is so stuffed with songs like this that one more just won't fit and so it falls apart upon entry.

^That would be awesome. This is the most boring song among the heap of shit competing on Active Rock currently. That said, the top 10 is mostly very good with the exception of "Hate My Life" being terrible and a couple of others being only ehh.
