EXCLUSIVE: ABC Family has put in development Maid In Miami, a half-hour comedy project from Rita Rocks creators Stan Zimmerman and James Berg and Glee‘s executive music producer Adam Anders. Singer-actress Christina Milian is in negotiations to star in the project, about a young maid who is an aspiring singer. Zimmerman and Berg are writing the script and will executive produce with Anders, often dubbed Glee‘s music man. Milian has an existing relationship with ABC Family — she has starred in two holiday original movies for the channel, Snowglobe and last year’s Christmas Cupid. ABC Family has a successful track record segueing the stars of ABC Family movies to series — it recently did it with Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence, who took on their own comedy series, Melissa & Joey, after topping the 2009 ABC Family film My Fake Fiance. Berg and Zimmerman, whose credits also include Gilmore Girls and Roseanne, are with WME and 3 Arts. Millian, repped by WME and Greenlight, recently guest starred on CSI.

The mother of two has been making her rounds all weekend and we caught up with Christina to get the scoop on what her typical day is like, how she balances motherhood and music and who she's looking foward to seeing at the VMAs.

"I'm woken up by my beautiful daughter Violet, with a bunch of kisses and hugs. She's about a year and a half now and we usually spend the morning playing together, having breakfast and then I tend to have to go work out and spend the rest of the day in the studio. Maybe spend a little time with my girlfriends and come home and spend more time with Violet."

Christina Milian on How She Balances Motherhood and Music:
"I'm very fortunate I have a very supportive family but I love my daughter so much, I make it happen. If I"m at work I get the job done, I go home and I love every moment with her. If I am partying, you have to do it to a certain amount, you enjoy it, but I feel like it's a party being with her too."

Christina Milian On Who She's Looking Forward To See At The VMAs:
"Lil Wayne, Rihanna, Beyonce, and Katy Perry. I love all those people."

Rap-Up TV: Christina Milian Celebrates Independence on New Album



Christina Milian brought some sunshine to the already hot red carpet at the BMI Urban Awards in Hollywood last week. The “Dip It Low” singer chatted with Rap-Up TV about her oft-delayed fourth album, which has been through several phases since she began recording it in 2008.

“It’s in a great place and I think I found my sound for this one,” revealed the sexy starlet, who’s been through a marriage, divorce, and motherhood since the last time we spoke with her.

Her real-life experiences are reflected on the album, due on Interscope Records. “It’s an entirely new album,” she explained. “I’ve gone through a lot since then, so it’s definitely a little more honest. It’s based on just living life and there’s more to talk about now. But it’s urban, it’s pop, it’s sexy, it’s fierce, and independent. It’s awesome.”

Milian is also in talks to star in ABC Family’s half-hour comedy “Maid in Miami.” She will play a housekeeper who is an aspiring singer.

It's impressive how she's been able to hold onto a contract through all of this ahad not having had a hit single since 2006 (if we wanna call "Say I" a hit). I hope it all works out this time. Christina Milian Reveals Producers on New Album

Singer Christina Milian has gone through a lot of personal and professional changes in the last year. Her marriage with singer-producer The-Dream fell apart, and even though the couple share a daughter and are still in contact with one another, the '1977' creator will no longer produce her forthcoming album.

Originally titled 'Elope,' in 2009, Milian and Dream released the track 'Welcome to Vegas' about their quickie marriage in Sin City, but not long after going public about their love, the relationship crumbled. Milian later accused Dream of being unfaithful and contested the terms of their prenuptial agreement, stating that she was pregnant when signing the document and was therefore not in the right mental state.

The former couple has since reached an undisclosed settlement and with all that relationship drama behind her, the 29-year-old is back in the studio and has changed the entire concept of the album. "It's happening, it is really happening," Milian tells The BoomBox. "I've been working with [producers] Young Yani, The Interns, this guy named Sham, a lot of really good, local producers here in L.A. A lot of great writers like The Writer's camp and stuff, and it's exciting."

Milian has focused on acting, motherhood and other endeavors as of late, but getting behind the mic again is special for her.

"Honestly, the first day that I went in [the studio] with the attention like, 'This is for the album, no more making demos, no more making it a session about somebody else. This is for you,' I got it spot on," she reveals. "That was the first day I worked with Yani. Since then, it's been smooth sailing every day. I just love the feeling of being creative again. Sometimes you lose that when you haven't been in the studio for a while, and I will regret not being in the studio like a longer period of time than two times a month. I want to be in the studio all the time, as long as I'm inspired it keeps coming. I'm changing the title. It will no longer be any of the material for 'Elope.' I'm at a new chapter in my life, so it's untitled as of yet."

Milian has yet to pinpoint a release date for the album.

Wow so i guess no Zipper dam that was a hit and a good song for her. I hope the full version leaks some day. If any song she should keep it should be Zipper and Nevermind. :'(

I would love to see "Zipper" added on as a bonus track to the album. Or at least a reworked version of the song for those of us who stuck around through all of her ish. But I'm glad she seems to finally be focused on making an album and not just writing for others. It's about time.

One must applaud Christina’s attempts to (at least) remain visible during her extended down-time. However, with few tangible evidences of any progress being made on the production tip, Milian may run the risk of no one being interested by the time she is actually ready to promote something other than…well…existing.

Now, if ever, would be the time for Miss Milian to re-emerge (with some hot -ish, of course) and at least begin rebuilding on the potential of the now, nearly decade old ‘Dip It Low’. For, as this party confirms, we aint’ gettin’ no younger.

Exclusive: Catching Up With Christina Milian (and Baby Violet!)

We talked mommy style and more with the singer while she enjoyed playtime with her daughter at a Pampers party in New York.

Christina Milian has her hands full with her 18-month-old daughter Violet! We caught up with the singer last night (September 21) at a Pampers Cruisers’ 3-Way Fit Launch “Play-A-Palooza,” but if you blinked you might have missed her little tot as she bounced around from getting her face painted, meeting Sesame Street’s Oscar the Grouch, and generally running around with a bunch of other kids that packed the play date at New York’s Dylan’s Candy Bar.

“She’s running around everywhere, believe me she’s very active!” Christina says of her cutie, but even though the singer has a lot on her plate, juggling motherhood and a career (yes, there’s a new album in the works), she still manages to stay fly. Forget soccer mom jeans, Christina showed up to the kiddie party in curve-hugging Denim Raven jeans, with a red Forever 21 top, gold necklace and some serious Wild Pair heels.

You played out your pregnancy in front of the cameras in some cute looks. Do you have any good style tips for expecting moms?

You know I wish I would’ve known about half the stuff I find now for maternity wear. I found out that H&M has a maternity area, The Gap has a maternity area and they have really cute clothes which is really difficult to find when you’re pregnant. I kind of wore the same thing over and over again. I had one pair of jeans from Target that I wore. Speaking of Target, when I was breastfeeding I found the most amazing bra at Target that made it easier to breast feed my daughter. Unfortunately you can never find it because every woman buys it immediately, but it’s the best gift you can give an expecting mom.

What about style tips for new moms?

It’s hard because you don’t know which size to buy yet! You’re like, ‘I can’t buy these yet because I’m still huge.’ But you know just be confident in what you wear. It’s important I think for a mom who has babies to still get dressed up every day; you feel good and it pushes you forward as a mom. It’s hard and I know you’re tired, but at some point it’s great to put the makekup on again, put on the heels.

Are there any clothing brands or products you love for Violet?

I do love Johnson and Johnson and the Baby Oil Gel that she uses. I put it on her when she gets out of the bath and give her a massage and stretch her out—a little baby workout for her. It’s perfect. We do everything from GAP Kids to Target to Gucci. A little of everything. She doesn’t have a lack when it comes to fashion.

It sounds like she’s got a good mix of high and low brands.

Yep, just like her mama.

What do you think of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s baby news?

I’m so excited! I’m really excited for Beyoncé. She’s worked her butt off for so many years. This is going to be beyond anything she’s every achieved. It’s going to be amazing.

Do you want more kids? Do you want to get married again?

I do! I want to have more kids someday and I think I’ll get married again. I’m going to take my time though this time. It won’t be engaged in a month and married over night. But, who’s to say! You never know. I never thought at one time that I would’ve gotten married before and had a child, so you never know what the future will bring.

Haute Event: Christina Milian Celebrates the End of Summer at Azure Luxury Pool

Actress and singer Christina Milian celebrated the end of summer at Azure Luxury Pool at the Palazzo. The gorgeous mother of one was joined by friends and family and partied in a sequin swimsuit by Victoria’s Secret that showed off her toned tummy. 

After posing for pictures with fans, Christina jumped into the DJ booth and pumped up the crowd.

While her guests dined on Wolfgang Puck’s signature pizza and sipped frozen cocktails, Milian raved about how the Palazzo is her favorite resort in Vegas and how she loves the Azure Luxury Pool. “The Palazzo is amazing….I love my room and you cannot go wrong with the shopping here. Azure is more mature and laid back with a sexy vibe.” 

When asked who she was rooting for on “Dancing with the Stars,” Milian said her good friend Rob Kardashian, adding, “I think I’m more nervous for him than he is! I’d be nervous learning the dances but I’d consider doing the show.”

Milian is excited for Halloween this year and going trick or treating with her daughter Violet. “She’s bigger this year so she will enjoy trick or treating. She’s going to be Jasmine from ‘Aladdin’ and I’m going to be Spiderwoman or a nurse.”

With fall right around the corner, Milian said her fall must-have item is deep dark, sexy scarlet red lipstick. 

After enjoying the sunny day at Azure, Milian dined at her favorite eatery Lavo.

Christina Milian And The Dream Divorce Finalized!

Free at last! Christina Milian was eating lunch with male friend, her daughter Violet and some family yesterday when the paparazzi spotted them in Miami.

The 30 year old Jersey City, NJ native was all smiles amidst news that her divorce is finally finalized. Christina eloped with R&B superstar The Dream at Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada back in September of 2009. A few days later it was announced that Christina was pregnant with the couple's only child.

The Dream filed for Divorce just 9 days before Christina gave birth to her first and only child, Violet Nash.

The couple negotiated a divorce settlement last november but have been battling it out in court ever since. Last week a Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge finalized their bitter divorce.

Let's hope both parties are satisfied with the results and by the looks of Christina's latest shopping spree, she's extremely happy with the negotiations.

Now that she's single, do you think Christina Milian will get in to another relationship any time soon?

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – October 26, 2011 – Grammy Award nominated singer-actress Christina Milian (“It’s About Time,” “Be Cool”) has been named as the new Social Media Correspondent for the second season of NBC’s “The Voice” (Mondays, 8-10 p.m. ET), it was announced today by Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Late Night Programming, NBC.

“Christina's extensive musical background and widespread recognition make her the perfect choice for the role of Social Media Correspondent on ‘The Voice,’” said Telegdy. "Her experience as a singer will provide a comfort level to our artists when they speak to her about the ins and outs of the competition. She is a hugely valuable addition as we prepare for another spectacular season."

“The Voice” is an innovative vocal competition series modeled after Holland's top-rated vocal talent discovery show, “The Voice of Holland.” The series is hosted by Carson Daly and features the musician coaches working through the various phases of the competition with only the most talented vocalists. The show’s second season will air mid-season Mondays (8-10 p.m. ET).

NBC will use television’s biggest stage following Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday, February 5, 2012 to unveil the second-season premiere of “The Voice” (10-11 p.m. ET; time approximate). “The Voice” also will premiere in its regular day and time on the following night, Monday, February 6 (8-10 p.m. ET).

Four musician coaches of NBC’s “The Voice” – Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton – will return this season.

In addition, “The Voice” will continue to push the boundaries between broadcast and online by bringing social media conversations to the on-air show. Bridging the gap between on-air and online is new Social Media Correspondent Milian who will make regular appearances during the live broadcasts.
