If she really gave it her all, she really could have at the very least an urban hit. She just hasn't given any real effort since "Say I."

She had time to do that in demo sessions with her ex-husband. Just none took off.
This show is definitely a step in the right direction though, even if she couldn't be a judge.

Meet the New Social Media Correspondent for “The Voice”: Christina Milian [Q&A]1 day ago by Brian Anthony Hernandez NBC’s The Voice — a singing competition that became a social media powerhouse on TV earlier this year — returns for another season Feb. 5 with added star power: Grammy-nominated singer Christina Milian. She has been tapped as the show’s new social media correspondent to join host Carson Daly and celebrity judges Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton in the search for America’s next singing sensation. Milian replaces last season’s correspondent, former G4 personality Alison Haislip, and will interact with fans on Facebook, Twitter, NBC Live and NBC.com. She’ll also appear on live shows. Milian will serve as a role model on set for the contestants. Last season, The Voice trained finalists to leverage blogs, Facebook Pages and Twitter, and gave them cameras and Samsung Galaxy Tabs. “She knows how important social media is to current musicians and is very active online to engage with her fans,” a spokesperson for The Voice recently told Mashable. “She will be a great example to our artists.” Q&A With Christina MilianMilian burst into the pop scene 10 years ago with “AM to PM,” continued charting worldwide with “Dip It Low” in 2004 and has since released a third album and made several appearances on TV shows, including CSI. Mashable: How is social media important for you?Milian: I’ve always been an advocate of the Internet and staying ahead of the game by communicating with my fans. I want to know what they like or dislike, etc. It keeps your fans riding with you in the long run when you constantly provide them with content or something to talk about.Mashable: What will you bring to The Voice team?Milian: I think the coaches will feel even more comfortable with me to share a lot more. I know their fans will for sure appreciate it, especially Xtina fans! They’re tweeting me already wanting to know the inside scoop. I hope to make it fun and informative, and I would like to find more ways to give them what they want to see. Maybe YouTube videos? I love doing those!Mashable: What was your favorite part of season one?Milian: The show stays very true to music and talented vocalists. It’s great to see people get a chance at hitting it big and to be coached on how to become better artists.Mashable: What is your most memorable online moment?Milian: I would say the first time I realized there were fan clubs on the Internet for me. It started with ChristinaMilian.org. I still remember to this day a girl named Suz ran it and it had all types of info. I was shocked to find that so many people were into my music career.Mashable: So what’s next?Milian: I look forward to being the eyes and ears for the show and I hope everyone enjoys my fun demeanor. At the end of the day, I’m so blessed to do this and The Voice is happening at a great time in my life. I get a chance to integrate my music career with a show like this. My fans will be very happy with that.

Christina Milian” “I Wanted To Be Like Janet Jackson & Madonna” [EXCLUSIVE]Written by Sharde Gilliam on November 11, 2011 4:15 pm The beautiful and multi-talented, Christina Milian, has been a little under the radar lately after the news of her very public divorce from The Dream hit the media. Since then, Christina has been working hard on her new album and as the new social media correspondent on “The Voice”. With all these new projects that Ms. Milian is working on, we had to catch up with her to see just what has she been up to lately! Take a look at my exclusive interview with Christina where we chatted about her new album, dealing with her divorce in the public and moving on. How does she run in those heels? HelloBeautiful: How did you get the gig as the social media correspondent with “The Voice”?Christina Milian: I guess they were looking for someone to fill that role. They wanted someone that could relate to the celebrity coaches and the music industry. They wanted someone who could connect all the dots. Social media has had a huge affect on their fan base. With the following that I have and the fan base that I have, they felt it would be a good connection to have me come on board. They came to me and we had this great meeting and then I was there the next week! It happened that fast. It’s pretty exciting. Its fun. I have the coolest job. All I have to do is tweet and shoot interviews and be myself. I feel so blessed that I don’t have to go out of my way to do what I love. HB: What are you bringing to the table this season?Christina Milian: I like to help edit the videos and give fine tuning detail and bring the personality to it. It’s one thing to ask the basics but having been in this situation that the contestants are in, it’s easier to bring your own experience to the table. HB: What kind of advice would you give to anyone looking to follow in your footsteps whether it be singing or acting or anything that you’re doing in your career?Christina Milian: First off the biggest lesson is patience because it doesn’t happen overnight. The best thing to do is connect with a specific idol. I wanted to be like Janet Jackson and Madonna so I paid attention to their careers. Pay attention to their history and study the people you love and then study the people they studied. I think that’s the best advice. HB: Now, we have to get into the juicy stuff! How has it been living your life so publicly with the birth of your daughter and then your very public divorce?Christina Milian: You know, I’ve been doing it for so long that now, it comes with the territory. Certain things are crazy. There are things in my life that have been private and when it comes time to explain them, no one can believe it. When you live your life in front of a camera it’s not the easiest thing, but people are relying on you to help them get through the same thing. It’s actually motivating in a way. You have to accept it. People always think I call the paparazzi! I’m like “look, I live in LA they are EVERYWHERE!” I mean they pop out of bushes! So I’ve accepted it. It’s my life. It’s like having a spy on you 24/7 so it keeps you in check and in line from doing anything stupid. But I’m still human and I still make mistakes. I used to let it affect me but now I’m just like, nobody is living my life but me. At the end of the day, I have to live for me. I don’t mind. I’ve gained a lot of respect and support especially from women. They have helped be my backbone. HB: Speaking of that situation, how are things with you and Dream now? Do you still talk?Christina Milian: We have a mutual friendship and we communicate very well with each other. We both have very busy schedules but it’s working out very well. With all the drama, I just wanted us to be cool because at the end of the day all that matters is our daughter. It’s worked out well now since all the media is out of our business. I mean, we’re going to be in each other’s lives forever because of our daughter, by choice, because he doesn’t HAVE to be present, but he chooses to be. We have a great speaking relationship, and I’m grateful for that. HB: Do you think there is any truth to the rumors that some of his new songs on his mix tape are about you?Christina Milian: (Laughing) You have to discuss that with him! I mean, he’s an amazing writer and I’ll give him credit for that. I do believe that he’s taking pieces from all his relationships and making them into songs. He’s very creative in his writing and he’s speaking for a lot of men. I think when Dream writes, he writes about everything and he’s also adding what the fans what to hear: the realness. I mean, I’m not the only one in this situation that has a Mercedes car and for second everybody was like “did you hear this?!” and I started thinking that people might think these songs were about me. I called him and talked to him about it, and he basically told me that at the end of the day we’re both creative people and we dated publicly so of course they’re going to point the finger at you but we both know that these things aren’t true. But since all eyes were on us during our relationship, it’s natural for people to look at me. HB: Are you dating anyone new?Christina Milian: I’m enjoying being on my own and have been that way for about a year and some change. I’m pretty much not open to dating. I think I’m just spending time on me. I’ve been from relationship to relationship my whole life. I think the most time I’ve spent in between a relationship was like two months and then I was right back to like a three-year relationship. I have all the love I need right here from my daughter and I’m very protective over her because now when I do decide to date it will not only affect me but my daughter as well. I’m just not interested right now. It’s going to take some time. I’m not bitter I’m just enjoying my me time. HB: Okay, moving on from that and back to your music. Are there any artists that you would like to work with that you haven’t already work with before?Christina Milian: I would love to work with Chris brown, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West- we actually did a demo in the past that never came out, so I would love to work with him again. And Rihanna, I would LOVE to work with her. HB: Are you working on any new projects that we should be aware of?Christina Milian: I am working on a new album. Its just a lot of business matters I’ve been trying to clean up. I took some time off after having the baby and trying to find my new sound so now I think I’m in a good place. I’m always traveling and meeting new people, so I’m definitely in a place of moving forward in my career rather than making music just to make it. Trust me, your girl is working hard! And now the questions we always ask…Whats in your bag?My iPad. I went to the dentist today so I have this sleeping guard retainer thing. My Crooks and Castle sunglasses, Mac 3d glass lip gloss and my little red Cannon camera If you were forced to get a tattoo what would it be of and why?I have a bunch of tattoos but if I was forced I would get the quote, “live the life” because it’s my motto. I love to live. You have to be free. I have freedom on my wrist so I think that I would put that quote on me somewhere. Whats your vice and where do u go to get it?Food and shoes! But shoes definitely. I have my share of Louboutins. You can go to the actual store and get the best ones and there’s another store out here that has some great choices. Whats one urge you get but never act on it?To be aggressive with a guy and be like, “hey this is this and this is that and peace out!” But I don’t have the guts to do that because they would know who I am and it would just be all bad! (laughing) When was the last time you cried?Recently in church. I cried and I actually became a member of the church that day. It was a great message and I feel really good in my life and I feel really proud of myself because of all I’ve been going through. I’ve been going to this church for about a year and I have faith and believe in God so the message really spoke to me. I was amazed.

Celebrity Playlist: Christina Milian's Favorite SongsBy Alicia on December 6, 2011 Christina Milian came face-to-face with her biggest musical inspiration at the age of 18, when she was at MTV's Times Square studios for a meeting the same day Janet Jackson was appearing on TRL. "I walked in and it was like she was glowing," Milian told Zimbio on a quick break from taping The Voice. "I couldn't say anything, I was at a loss for words, and it was crazy because at the time I had a commercial running with my music video, and she complimented me, [saying] 'I saw your video, I see what you're doing,' and I couldn't say anything. I was speechless. And the next thing I know, I realized I wanted to cry. Happy tears, but like bursts of tears." And that's just what Milian did: "The second she walked out of the room, I was bawling. I bawled for two hours. I couldn't stop crying. Happy tears. Two hours." It goes without saying that Janet played a huge role in Christina's upbringing, and remains her favorite musical artist to this day. Find out what else is in Christina's iPod! Janet Jackson's "That's the Way Love Goes" The 1993 album Janet will always hold a place in Christina's heart, as she explained, "I just felt like at the time I was growing through her music ... .that album was so sexy, I was going through puberty so I was realizing that I was cute, guys were cute, so I'm listening to these songs. I mean, I wasn't living up to what they were saying, but I just liked the feeling there. I thought she was so hot, and I wanted to be like her." Michael Jackson's "Beat It"When asked which other albums were on her personal shortlist, Milian cited one of the most popular releases of all time: Thriller. "Of course, that's just classic. I don't even have to say anything about that one." Justin Bieber's "Baby"Okay, so Christina didn't list this as one of her personal favorites, but her daughter Violet is a big fan. Christina says this song – which, coincidentally, she co-penned with Violet's father The Dream – is on her daughter's special playlist, along with Baha Men's "Who Let the Dogs Out" and some Jackson 5. Stay tuned for our exclusive interview with Christina in which she discusses her role on The Voice, her daughter's budding sense of style, and why she's not big on karaoke bars.

She said in one of those interviews that she's halfway through the album, so maybe we'll be getting something sooner than we expect. One can only hope.

Christina Milian Opens Up About Divorcing The Dream With Niecy NashPlenty of rumors have been surrounding the break up of Christina Milian and her baby’s Dad The Dream, but both have spoken on their failed marriage. A brief encounter compared to The Dream’s Tim Westwood interview released so close together, but Christina Milian gets her point across when chatting with Niecy Nash. Niecy is getting down to the nitty gritty in her latest “Let’s Talk About Love” interview about people getting cheated on in relationships. Christina speaks up like her usual bubbly self, and shares her side of their pretty public split. Miss Milian spoke up regarding their ‘lustful’ relationship and was confident in her relationship skills when she explained that she “knows” she’s a “really good wife.” Violet’s mom goes on to say, “I know I’m a really good girlfriend. I know we’re suppose to take the blame for certain things but I gotta say I’m pretty good at all that stuff.” Christina even shares that just because you’re beautiful, doesn’t mean a man won’t cheat. Now, she doesn’t give direct details to her’s and Dream’s split– but Dream consequently shared that there were certainly no other women in the picture causing their break up. Check out Christina’s interview here.

Zimbio Exclusive Interview: Christina Milian on 'The Voice,' Celebrity Parenthood, and KaraokeBy Alicia on January 12, 2012 I had the opportunity to speak to multi-talented pop performer Christina Milian during her first couple of weeks on the set of The Voice, NBC's wildly popular singing competition that pits both contestants and their celebrity judges against one another in a dramatic battle for vocal glory. She happily discussed her new TV gig, her fashion favorites, and her daughter's preference for tutus. She's as adorable as she sounds. Zimbio: Congratulations on your new role as social media correspondent for The Voice. Can you tell me a bit about what you'll be doing?Well, this season I'm going to be the fun girl who gets to bring the entire thing together, [with] a lot of the behind the scenes footage — just the activity that's constantly going on backstage during the shooting of the show and anything that we do. It's making sure that the fans feel a part of what's going on, and being the informative girl who keeps everybody very much involved. I get to just be myself which is fun! And it's great, they chose me because I'm also a musician, and I've had hosting experience in the past, but mostly the difference is with me being a musician is I understand what's going on from every aspect. It makes a lot of sense, I'm already having fun. Who did you root for last season? You know, I didn't even get to the point where I got to see the whole season last year. I definitely watched the blind audition, and I saw part of the battle round but I didn't even really know how the show went until I got involved this season. It's kind of exciting and fresh for me being that I'm just starting with them. So yeah, I know that Adam did a great job last year, but I'm totally not picking anybody yet! It's all going to be about the talent at the end of the day. No matter what the coaches bring to the table, it's up to the artists on their team to really kick some butt. You're already an active Tweeter—I saw you tweeted from a tooth cleaning recently. Do you ever worry about sharing too much? That's so funny, we were talking about that this morning. Not so much. I really don't tweet as much as some people that I know. I think I've been very careful with it, or else I just share whatever I feel at the moment. I'm not really stuck on, like, 'I have to write every ten seconds on Twitter because I want 30,000 tweets!' No. (laughs) Do you have a favorite celebrity Twitter to follow?Ooh, there are a couple of them. I do love Rev Run, he has a great one, it's always inspirational. You know who I like? Puff. He puts some good quotes, he promotes himself sometimes, but you don't feel like he's doing that all day. He really is always updating it. So, I like the stuff he puts on there, he looks like he's having fun. You always look so put-together at red carpet events. Describe your personal style.I describe my style as "girl on the go." It transcends from daytime to nighttime, 'cause I've always got to be prepared. It's colorful, vibrant, it's affordable, sexy...but you know, some of it's not that affordable (laughs). I'll find, say, a pair of shoes and build my outfit around that pair of shoes. Chic, young, trendy with a classic vibe to it, and just comfortable, and sexy always. I've always got to have some sex appeal. I noticed you had some pretty sexy red platform pumps on recently. Those are my Sam Edelman shoes, which I love. I've kind of gone on the hunt for red shoes. I kinda want to make them my staple. But those shoes were the beginning of it, and they stand out and I love them to death. Do you remember what the first designer item you bought was?It was Louis Vuitton, and I believe...actually no someone got them for me as a gift (laughs). It was the first designer item that I ever got, but the first thing I ever bought [for myself] was probably a pair of Roberto Cavalli thigh-high boots. They were pretty hot, leather with these beautiful gray stones on it. Whose style do you admire?I love Kanye West, Rihanna... they just have this natural ability to be sexy and wear stuff that's dark. It has a slight mystery, but it's fun, it just feels free. Those are two of my favorites when it comes to fashion. There are a lot of musical artists these days who just aren't wearing pants. Would you ever leave the house in a leotard?Yeah, I definitely would try, if my mom would let me (laughs). It's so funny 'cause I'll try to wear stuff sometimes, and I'll go to approve it with her, and she's like, 'What are you thinking?' and I'll want to dispute it with her 'cause I really didn't want to know her opinion. So, that sounds like something I would actually do, but I haven't done it yet. I've worn really, really short shorts to the point where they could be leotards, but I think it's hot. If you can rock it and feel comfortable in it, go for it! After your daughter was born, did you feel pressure to get back into shape quickly?Slightly. I kind of pushed myself, thinking, 'Okay, what am I going to look like after I have the baby? What's my body going to be like?' After I had her, it's crazy, I didn't really have to try that hard. The first 24 pounds was water weight and I lost that within the first month, but then after that it was the remaining 21 pounds or something, and that I had to work hard on. Even when I thought I was only 10 pounds away and I was ready to meet with executives in Hollywood, [one of them] was like, "So, is she planning on losing the rest of the baby weight?' So it's 2 months after I had a baby, too, and I was like, 'Duh. Yeah. Hello.' So I kind of took a break from even having meetings and going to anything, [even] auditions, [and] just worked hard on eating right. I mean, it's dog-eat-dog when it comes to Hollywood, and it's not like it surprised me. I wasn't terribly hard on myself because I knew I would be okay, I'd get back into shape. Luckily I've worked out for so long in my life the muscle memory went back to where it needed to be. I'm so off and on when it comes to training. I try to keep a healthy lifestyle, when I get the time. It's kind of hard with the baby, and going to the studio and working. When I see myself getting slightly getting out of shape, I start hitting the gym and running the treadmill, or else I go to the mountains and go hiking up here in the canyons, and do some outdoor activity where I can talk to my girlfriends and get something done at the same time. Your daughter Violet is still really young, but does she pick out her own clothes?Actually, she just yesterday picked out what she was going to wear for school. We have a Mommy & Me class that we go to once a week, and she picked out this bright green tutu and I built the outfit around it. But she was in the closet and we were walking through, picking out what she was going to wear, and she was like, 'Wooah! Wooah!' at the green skirt, so I was like, 'Oh, she picked that one.' I know soon enough it's going to be an actual real opinion. Does she like music?Oh she loves music. I even have her own little playlist on my iPod that plays in my car, and she has Justin [Bieber's] song "Baby," she has "Who Let the Dogs Out"... I put a little Jackson 5 on there, but she's not crazy about that yet. And then she also likes Ne-Yo and Pitbull's song (sings "Give Me Everything"), whenever it comes on in the car she puts her hands up in the air singing, it's so cute. Do you think she might have a career in music? You know, it's crazy, she already has perfect pitch—she knows how to hit all the right notes, whether she's singing ABCs or the melody of Sesame Street or something, she sings it exactly how the melody sounds, and she loves to dance. Honestly, in her real life she's a little performer and she loves to entertain people. So it wouldn't surprise me if she did want to do that someday. I hear you're working on a new album...We're definitely working on it right now. It took a while to find my sound, but not only that, we're working out some business stuff. Moving forward, I'm really excited. I'm hoping [later in 2012] I can make some good announcements to everybody. But otherwise, in the studio, yeah I'm still doing my thing, still writing, still working on my stuff and working on other people's stuff. I just usually like to have a goal set, like saying, 'Okay. I need to put out a single by March 2012. I'm with this label, everybody, are we on the same page?' It's like going to battle, finding a freaking song. So right now, I'm definitely zoned in on finding that song. What's your favorite thing to do on a day off?I like to take Violet to the movies. I took her to the zoo the other day. If I have time off, I definitely want to do stuff with my daughter. Even house stuff, like the other day I was painting her room, going to Home Depot. Doing things to the house. Or going to my girlfriend's house and having some wine. If i know if there's maybe a half a day that's free or if my nanny is watching the baby, I go to my girlfriend's house and have a drink and chat about boys. I mean not boys, men. (laughs) What's your karaoke jam? It's funny, I really actually don't like karaoke (laughs). I don't like it because everyone's expectations of me are to go up and sing the most serious song, but I really just want to sing something dumb and fun. You know, like "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" or "Bohemian Rhapsody," or just Salt 'N' Pepa or Sir Mix a Lot. Fun stuff. People get all quiet when I get up there, and it's like, 'Come on, this is supposed to be fun. I'm not singing "Hero."'

So is she really joining the cast for The Voice? I haven't seen her in the promo clips.

I always thought she should of released the title track from her last release. I think it was called So Amazing. Say I did ok but I remember her releasing one of the lamer tracks as it's follow up and killing the little momentum it had. Actually didn't her label kind of pull the plug on the project?

'The Voice' Welcomes Christina Milian To The 'Family''I'm kind of living through them all over again,' new social media correspondent tells MTV News of the contestants. By Kara Warner (@karawarner) In addition to a brand-new crop of talent and potential future stars, NBC's hit singing competition "The Voice" has added a familiar face to its cast for season two: new social media correspondent Christina Milian. When MTV News caught up with the singer/actress recently, she explained how she got the gig and how excited she is for the show to premiere on Super Bowl Sunday. "I'm heavily involved on Twitter, have always been involved with my Internet fanbase and find that that's the best way to connect with the fans," Milian told us during a photo shoot for Hydrogen magazine. "I guess the people at NBC had their eye on me and they paid attention to it. I got a call one day and met up with everyone at NBC and the folks from 'The Voice,' and next thing you know, a week later, I'm signing a contract and the following week I'm working." Milian had nothing but praise for her "Voice" castmates and the experience working on the show thus far. "It's been fabulous. I've had fun working with the cast already," she said. "Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Cee Lo, Carson Daly — it's an awesome super team they have, and from day one, they treated me like family." The "Dip It Low" singer said she loves that the show is about music and chasing your dreams and that she's enjoyed watching the coaches take time to work with and help their contestants. "This show is about music, it's about talent, and it's about this passion and this dream of becoming a star," Milian said. "Still to this day, every day that I wake up, I have that same dream, so to be involved with the show, [it's amazing] to watch what they incorporate and how the coaches act as advisers and mentors to the artists and really truthfully help them and push them and want them to be the best so they can win. "There have been so many moments where I've thought, 'That's me on that stage! I remember that time,' " she added of enjoying watching the contestants. "Or you see their family sitting on the side of the stage crying or excited or jumping up and down, just so happy for them to even be there, I've felt that before, so I'm kind of living through them all over again."
