Bad move if this goes through. Too soon and the wrong choice. It took Halo so long to finally take off, why risk cannibalizing it now? And I agree that given that IIWAB & Halo didn't fly up the CHR/Pop chart, they should go with an uptempo, not this.

She needs something hot for the summer. If they could remix Ego with Kanye, why can't she remix Radio or Sweet Dreams with Ne-Yo or someone like that. That would be HUGE for her. People would still buy the album with or without the remix on it.

Sweet Dreams is the only Pop smash left of the album.

Maybe they aren't gonna release a Sasha Fierce track to CHR/Pop? They are sticking to the plan?

Bad choice. She's going to totally kill her momentum with this single choice. "Sweet Dreams" would smash.

Why dont we take a few deep breaths? lol I would say the label's plans has worked out well thus far. I mean all of the releases have been fairly successful. I think the only people disappointed about the climb of Halo is the Pulse chart watchers. The song is doing what singles are supposed to do and thats to drive album sales. Broken Hearted Girl will be no different. But an artist like Beyoncé has the capability of pulling in 100-150 million in audience with timely solo single releases. The double single is driving album sales, but a multiformat single release would serve the same purpose. It's not like the double single is pulling in more sales than an "Irreplaceable" would.
Spot on. The entire purpose of her being a MULTI FORMAT artist is that her singles get played on more than one format, thereby exposing it to different audiences and increasing album sales in the process. If she wasn't a multi-format artist (say Riri who has trouble with the urban format sometimes) then the whole double singles idea would work because you know urban would not play your music unless you release a song catered to them. For the first set it was a good idea but now it just seems beyond unnecessary.

Yeah for a *first* single I could understand double singles...but obviously, it didn't work so well for Halo and Diva and I have a feeling BHG and Ego will be even worse.
And her label would be downright stupid if they sent it for adds this month...it would kill both this and Halo's run.

I am actually surprised that they didn't push this out earlier.

I'm hoping and praying that this is PUSHED BACK and/or switched for another song. Though I have to say, I heard the video for this song is EPIC.
Ego, Radio and Sweet Dreams for the win.

They NEED to send out an uptempo single to Pop. Radio or Sweet Dreams would do really well.

i agree that an uptempo song should be sent out, but i honestly don't think the rest of the up-tempos are megahit material. i think sweet dreams could do pretty well but radio gets old fast IMO. so i think they kind of have to send out a ballad and this is a good choice. would've liked disappear though...

There are no uptempo's on the "I Am..." side. Thus they won't release any to CHR.

Honestly this is just annoying. I love Beyonce and want her to have more hits, but this is not one of them. SD and Radio, as stated by 2930930399 other people are smashes waiting to happen, and it seems so blatantly obvious (Then again, I thought Halo was the most obvious smash I had ever heard Beyonce record, and that SL was gonna flop on pop in the shadow of IIWAB ) I can't understand how the label would think this boring/uneventful/bland song is a better choice.

What the heck? Stop being stupid! nobody wants Broken Hearted Gril as a single... everybody wants either Radio or Sweet Dream for POP!

Labels are OBSESSED of giving their female artists "HIT BALLADS". I don't know why. This is NOT 1990s. Sappy ballads are NOT going to hit it.
After MC's "Bye Bye", Katy's "Thinking Of You", and Beyonce's "If I Were A Boy" you would think labels would just release uptempos. But no, they keep PUSHING bland ballads to the American public.

I don't get why ballad = pop and uptempo = urban. Radio needs to be sent to pop - it would be eaten up.

Is there some unwritten rule that they can't service a song featured on the Sasha Fierce disk to Pop radio? If anything after the success of Single Ladies they should be inclined to do so.

Just release Sweet Dreams to all format after Halo's done and then re-release the album. It's so damn simple

Just release RADIO to all format after Halo's done and then re-release the album. It's so damn simple I must be the only one who thinks Sweet Dreams is so overproduced that it's impossible to truly enjoy it. "Radio" though is just right.

I think Sweet Dreams is perfect for pop radio. Radio on the other hand I still think is overrated. But still either would be better than this.

Ummmm this BETTER be pushed back. Halo is not even close to peaking yet and is about to go top 10. It's going to flop anyway lol...3 ballads in a row is a huge mistake. WHy are you all saying 3 ballads in a row when she has been purposely gimmicking the album as two parts...up/mid-tempos and full out ballads If I were a boy, Single Ladies Halo, Diva Broken-hearted girl, Ego Hopefully, Someother ballad, and Beautiful Nightmare to close out. I think she will be a top 40 staple regardless of whether the song is great or promoted. She has multi-format power. That is half-the battle.
