I understand that, seeing as she is a pop/dance artist. I admit I was surprised myself to see ANY actual musical talent behind Lady Gaga.

Jesus people shut up about Lady Gaga. Anywho, I think Fall Out Boy deserves more than they are getting credit for. I think alot of people hate on them just because everyone else is, or so they think. But secretly most people gotta like at least one Fall Out Boy song. What's not to like?
I'm seein these guys with Panic and Blink soon.

I will apologize because I used a harsher tone than I actually intended to so I'm sorry about that. But that was just my little nudge that we should discuss the song on the board. And I'm tired of hearing about Lady Gaga I guess. xD I never claimed for this to be my board, I'm only human, so maybe try to take things more lightly next time.

Sorry but I'm already tired of one poster on here driving me nuts. talk of other artists happens in threads all the time. There is lots of that and you won't find me telling others to shut up.....
On this topic, I've found this album to be alright but a little bit of a letdown from past albums.

On this topic, I've found this album to be alright but a little bit of a letdown from past albums. Like new KOL singles, I also thought I was "used" to FOB albums enough by now to be able to get into this one. I just couldn't, though. The three previous albums are all considerably better, in my opinion.

I'm weird I guess in that I've never really liked Take This To Your Grave that much and From Under The Cork Tree was only halfway decent to me. I dunno, I've liked Fall Out Boy so much more since they've become more pop and let more influences into their sound. Infinity On High is still my favorite FOB album but I think this one has several great tracks.
"Disloyal Order Of Water Buffaloes", "I Don't Care", "She's My Winona", "Headfirst Slide", "The (Shipped) Gold Standard", "What A Catch, Donnie", "W.A.M.S.", "20 Dollar Nose Bleed", and "West Coast Smoker" are all gold in my opinion. Some of them admittedly took some time to digest, but as I keep listening to the album I love it more and more.
That's not to say that there aren't weak tracks. I personally don't care that much about "27" and "Tiffany Blews", and "America's Suitehearts" wasn't that great of a single.

I'm glad "Headfirst Slide Into Cooperstown On A Bad Bet" is finally being released! It may have charted on Billboard when released as a Digital Single due to promotion for "Folie à Deux", but finally a radio release. I guess plans for "She's My Winona" have been scrapped. Shame Really, I thought that was a good single choice, but "Headfirst..." has always been my favourite.
And who knows, maybe a radio release would lead to a music video, which I have my fingers crossed for. I really feel "Folie à Deux" deserved better success than it did. I suppose #8 on Billboard is not bad, but I hoped it would do better.

I read on Pete's Twitter that they're making a video for "What a Catch, Donnie"

:O Awesome, "What A Catch, Donnie" is one of my favourites, hopefully it would go onto a full release with radio and everything, because I would like to see it do very well, and get noticed for the outstanding song it is. Patrick's Vocals continue to surprise me with every release

great single choice, and i agree FAD should have done much better than it did. and i wonder if 'what a catch' is gonna be released to pop since this song is goin alternative. but both are amazing songs.

I went back to this album just out of boredom and to give it another shot and suddenly a few songs clicked a little more. I actually really like "Tiffany Blews" but I think that it would have a much better chance to catch on at CHR. The beginning drags you in and the chorus is catchy but the big thing for me is the even more retro 80's sound, I never really paid attention to on first listens.
I think they missed the boat on singles so far. I liked I Don't Care, but it didn't really do alot(expectation wise at least). The (Shipped) Gold Standard should have been second. America's Suitehearts is by far the weakest single I've personally heard from them. It's probably too late to turn it around, I think most programmers are looking past this album already.
But whatever, they missed the boat when they should have sent Fame < Infamy as a single from Infinity on High.

The same thing happened to me when I first listened to "Folie à Deux". I gave "Tiffany Blews" a few listens but mainly focused on other songs which really stood out for me, like "Headfirst...". But then randomly it began growing on me and is now one of my most listened to songs.
I agree with "America's Suitehearts" being a weak single. I never really understood the appeal of the song as a single, as I felt there were much more stronger songs that could've been released.
I also agree with your comment on "Fame < Infamy". I recently saw the performance in the film "SexDrive" and it made me realise that this song is Great! It could've perhaps had a stronger chart performance than "I'm Like A Lawyer...", but that song just has a much stronger message which Is why I feel it was released.
Also, with "What A Catch, Donnie's" Video Release right around the corner, does anyone know if that is being sent to radio or anything?

I think this album is really good. I've enjoyed all of the singles.

I think this album is really good but haven't liked the singles, excepting I Don't Care. Shipped Gold Standard really should be a single.

Ugh, one more FOB song that did nothing on Alternative. Folie À Deux underperformed a bit and so did all the singles taken from the album. Let's see if this is the start of their comercial decline or if it's just a less sucessful album. I guess "What A Catch, Donnie" will be released as their next pop single, soon. At least, the music video for the song will premiere on August 6th.

eh I think its their decline because last album's singles didnt do nearly as well on radio as FUCT's singles. Next album's lead single is probably the last ever FOB song that will do anything at all on both this format and on pop, UNLESS they become a Hot AC band, in which case theyll exclusively have a couple successful HAC eras

It can't be a good thing if a band's success is depending on CHR/Top 40 radio airplay. Except if we are talking about Nickelback, of course.
FOB lost their alternative radio support, so I can't see them being nearly as huge as they were from 2005 to 2008.
Things aren't looking good for them, but it's a bit early to say they will disappear from radio, though. Let's wait for the next record.
