I slept on and off during the last hour, so I'm not sure if this is exactly right. I'm assuming that Sheryl Crow was still on top, but if she isn't, let me know and I'll amend the list.
LC TC SONG/ARTIST
01 01 The First Cut Is The Deepest/Sheryl Crow
02 02 White Flag/Dido
03 03 You Raise Me Up/Josh Groban
04 04 100 Years/Five For Fighting
05 05 Forever And For Always/Shania Twain
06 06 Unwell/Matchbox Twenty
07 07 Drift Away/Uncle Kracker f/Dobie Gray
08 08 Calling All Angels/Train
09 09 Ain't No Mountain High Enough/Michael McDonald
10 10 Dance With My Father/Luther Vandross
Man, do I hope that I'm wrong about songs 1 and 3 (I heard Dido at number two after waking up briefly). They cut the chart back to avoid redundancy? Yeah, guys, that's the way! The chart is the same as last week! And we haven't had a debut song since AT10 started. Oh well, at least there was a good variety of extras, and there were 22 of them! (I believe they only looped one song, "Go Your Own Way", and they played the short version of "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me", sans the a capella part at the beginning with Boy George whining about giving him time to realize his crime (releasing that song as well as a host of several other annoying songs) and that part in the middle with his voice echoing, "Cry-cry-cry-cry...")
Anyway, enough rambling on. Here are this week's Extras on AT10:
AT10 Extras:
Boogie Oogie Oogie/A Taste Of Honey
Margaritaville/Jimmy Buffett
What A Wonderful World/Louis Armstrong (what was the story attached to this one?)
Long Distance Dedications:
Here Without You/3 Doors Down
Do You Really Want To Hurt Me/Culture Club
AT10 Archives:
1998: This Kiss/Faith Hill
1977: Go Your Own Way/Fleetwood Mac
1999: Every Morning/Sugar Ray
1978: My Life/Billy Joel
1982: Open Arms/Journey
2000: I Need To Know/Marc Anthony
2001: I'm Like A Bird/Nelly Furtado
1973: Midnight Train To Georgia/Gladys Knight & The Pips
1979: Old Time Rock & Roll/Bob Seger
1976: Take It To The Limit/The Eagles
1997: How Do I Live/LeAnn Rimes
AT10 Spotlight:
I Can See Clearly Now/Jimmy Cliff
In The Still Of The Nite (I'll Remember)/Boyz II Men
It's In His Kiss (The Shoop Shoop Song)/Cher
Landslide/The Dixie Chicks
Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me/George Michael f/Elton John
You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman/Celine Dion
I'm A Believer/The Monkees
Cruisin'/Huey Lewis & Gwyneth Paltrow
I'm assuming that "What A Wonderful World" and "Old Time Rock & Roll" were played in the same segment with the number three song and that "How Do I Live" was played before the #1 song, as those are the only songs I don't remember hearing.
I do remember hearing "Take It To The Limit" before I dozed off, and I swore Casey said it was from 1975, when the song didn't chart until 1976 ("Lyin' Eyes" was the 1975 song). Also, which year did Casey say that "Old Time Rock & Roll" was from? Its original run was in 1979 but after seeing Tom Cruise dancing to the song in his boxers, the teenyboppers fell in love with the song all over again and it charted again, though not in the Top 40 - that's why I put 1979 for the year. If Casey said 1983, let me know and I'll amend my post.
