Haha. Yes, that was very pedestrian of me not to follow them as closely. Escpecially after admiring their earlier effort. A major label should snap them up really. Instead they're on the same label as Reel Big Fish...

Going briefly back to the Sinch thing...the song peaked at #27 on Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks, so the song probably peaked somewhere in the mid-20s on active rock. That album had so many other gems though. "Bitmap" is my favorite song of all time not by Porcupine Tree. OK, I don't remember "Something More" whatsoever. I didn't even remember the title, only that a band called Sinch scraped the Alt chart 7 years ago. After all this high praise for that song, I'll have to track it down... ..."First" impression: not bad. Definitely a little more musically deft than the typical hard alt-rock band. It didn't wow me or anything, though. Haha. Yes, that was very pedestrian of me not to follow them as closely. :) The smiley is for using the word pedestrian in its fairly rare adjective form.

^Check out "Bitmap" for the wow factor. Whoile I think Pen would suggest other songs, that's the one that does it for me anyway.

..."First" impression: not bad. Definitely a little more musically deft than the typical hard alt-rock band. It didn't wow me or anything, though. To be honest, "Something More" is one of their more mainstream sounding songs. My absolute favorite song by them is "The Silent Acquiescence Of Millions", which is also one of my favorite songs ever. I would also recommend hearing "To Die In Fall", "433 (Hypothetical Situation)", "Tabula Rasa", "The Arctic Ocean", "Identity Theft", "The Power Of Suggestion", "Sails", "Silence Broken", and "The Last Scene". What I love about them is that they do sound like a mainstream hard rock band at the core, but they go about it in very interesting ways. Their lyrics and arrangements are far superior to the average band in their genre, and their use of electronic sounds and samples makes their music a little more intriguing. Plus it wouldn't be a Sinch discussion without mentioning their invention, the viditar, which is what makes the band, really.

How does a video instrument "make" a band? Sounds like it would be a neat live tool, but I don't see how that would influence the sound.

I just said it wouldn't be a discussion without bringing it up. It's a major part of what makes the band unique and I thought it worth mentioning. Here's a video demonstration.

I thought you were just trying to be argumentative.

Nope, the viditar looks cool though.

I'm not too fond of this band and the title unfortunately reminds me of "All for You" by Sister Hazel.

I'm actually starting to like this song. I still don't think it's good, but I might admit that I enjoy listening to it to a minimal extent.
