Still not making sense. That doesnt take into count the vast difference between the markets. Both are massive, but the number of artists based out of the US charting on both charts is more than those from the UK so the domestic figures you have hypothetically put into place seem inaccurate. The US is not immune to international acts as they are in the charts. They are just not as prevalent as the UK. You can't use reverse logic because the US is different from the UK in population, geography, topography, and anything else. Not better, just different. I am a huge fan of the UK and the charts there because I think it is more accurate but I believe that works heavily in Jordin's favor for this situation. Top 20 is still good for her, but I dont think it was harder to achieve that. Exactly. If by the reverse logic there was more of an international presence in the US Top 40, international success here would be considered less 'special' (i.e. Leona getting her number one with Bleeding Love). Oh lord, I only meant to compliment Jordin. She is doing better over here than over there therefore we love her more than you do, so there

The slow poke rise of "Battlefield" isn't really an ideal situation for her or the record label because they don't know if they should move on to the next single and all together scrap "Battlefield" or if they should continue to let it climb slowly with no hype or guarantee that it will eventually go top ten.

Battlefield will be fine, it gained over 60 spins today. it's picking back up. they aren't going to "scrap" Battlefield. they will wait for it to peak, and then release the next single.

I think her label should wait until like August to release the next single.

I think her label should wait until like August to release the next single. Most likely, we should get an adds date for the second single around mid-august.

I'd be shocked if they released a single in august. I'm thinking late September or even early October

i am guessing they would wait till September for the 2nd single since Jordin's tour with the JB's will be over then and she would have more time to promote the 2nd single plus shoot the video.

Yeah, give an adds date in mid-august for like an early September release. Alsoo.... #28 US iTunes :) (#18 without MJ crowdage)

It depends on when Battlefield dies. If it peaks fairly soon (which I know no one wants to admit is a possibility, but....) then I would say she needs a new single in August. If it has decent longevity it needs to go for adds in September-ish.

Tattoo took a while to peak didn't it? Hopefully this song has legs like Halo. She has promo lined up for the album so that should hopefully help the single too.

This could be further confirmation on S.O.S. as the next single. Ryan Seacrest Tweeted: Idol fans somethin for ya... jordin sparks (sos let the music play) off her new album. ^ and he gave this link www.ryanseacrest.com/blog/whats-hap...the-music-play/it's from his website, and it's saying that she's released a new single... hmmm.... ???

Tattoo and OSAAT were both slow risers.
This isn't over until it's over. It's still getting decent updates and moving up, so her label isn't going to move on until it's dropping on iTunes and losing spins.

The album is about to drop and "Battlefield" still hasn't cracked 4000 plays a week. I think "SOS" is a great great song, i just wish it would help her out. I really felt like her 1st album was average at best and they had a hard time trying to fit her in. But they came back swinging on this album with her best material to date, but i wish they would've taken this approach with her first cd.
I hope "Battlefield" can pull a "Halo" and then "SOS" just explodes.
I kind of wonder why a ballad was chosen as a 1st single? "SOS" would've made the much better first single, then "Battlefield" would've worked better as a 2nd single.

Jordin is kind of known for ballads/mid-tempo-ish songs (Be careful calling it a ballad-I did once and people jumped down my throat ). I can see why they released something that she is known for rather than something she isn't. It would be like Lady Gaga releasing a slow power ballad for her first single of her new cd That being said, they are probably banking on the song exploding later so even if the cd doesn't debut well it may have a lot of longevity.

#24 on iTunes (#18 excluding MJ)! It looks like battlefield will see a sales increase this week.
Also, Perez Hilton, The Insider, Ryan Seacrest, B. Scott, The Examiner and AceShowbiz are reporting that SOS is the next single. I know it's still not confirmed but with all of these various sites mentioning it as a single as well as the album adds sayng "Featuring singles Battlefield and SOS", I'm thinking there's a pretty good chance that it's the next single.
Battlefield still has a lot of life left in it, so I don't think that the next single will be released until the fall (probably late september IMO).

Also, Jordin WAS inside the Top 10 as of yesterday, but BEP I Gotta Feeling just pushed her out, so she'll probably be at #11 this week, unless she can climb back in :)

Battlefield up to #17 on iTunes without the Michael songs :) That's pretty good, because the promotion for this hasn't kicked in yet.
