This is going for Urban and Urban AC adds on December 2. The song is alright, but I hate the title.

"Sorry 2004"? That is a HORRIBLE title...
I haven't heard the song yet so I can't comment on it, but man oh man is that a bad title...

It's a good song, but I agree that it has an awful title.

www1.allaccess.com/sounds/rubensor.ramGood song. I can't wait for a person to create the Justin G. "Sorry" vs Ruben S. "Sorry 2004" battle! I think "What Is Sexy" is another potential hit, it's very catchy.

I think it will beat Justin Guarini's song in total spins on the day of its peak. "Sorry" only reached around #55 on CHR/Pop, if I remember correctly. Ruben will beat him on the other formats, at least.

According to RCA in today's USAToday, there have been 1.3 million pre-orders of "Soulful" already.

I heard this for the first time last night, and ironically enough, on Buffalo's CHR/Pop station WKSE Kiss 98.5 FM
It was the Champion in the Battle of the New Songs, defeating B2K's new effort, "Bada Boom" featuring Fabolous
I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the track, it's great... a blend of Luther and Tyrese, I thought
The title is strange, did they throw in the 2004 to separate it from Justin Guarini's version? (Not that anyone really knew the title of a Justin Guarini song, but for hardcore American Idol fans, they would)

Yea, maybe Clive is saying it has pre-sold that much just to hype it up and make more people go out and buy the album, thinking "Wow, THAT mean people ordered it? Then there must be something good about it, I'm gonna buy it myself"

They mean that they are shipping 1.3 million copies to outlets. In other words, stores have got 1.3 million copies to sell, not 1.3 million people actually buying the CD to take home...

yeah 1.3 million pre-orders is still good, but its all based off what the stores are expecting. alicia keys was under-ordered, she sold out in lots of places, and that's something no one wants to happen.

1.3million to the streets. I say ruben will sell about 300-400k closer to 400k the first week out based on the shipments. You need to ship out at least 3-4million to really be able to sell 1 million albums in a week.

I am actually not impressed at all with this song. I was hoping I could back Rueben becuase Clay is such a dweeb but I really have not liked his first two singles.

Just heard this on the radio tonight, and I've gotta say it sounds a lot like something by Tyrese, which is not a good thing. Ruben seems in serious danger of following Tyrese's career path. Like Tyrese, he's recognizable and has a good voice. But Tyrese has never had any material that stood out, and as a result he's never had any big hits. Hopefully, Ruben's album has more variety and stronger material than this.

a lot of ppl were knocking it when it came out b/c of the title, but i heard it from a preview of the album and new it was hot. he needs to stick to midtempo/slow jams, his voice just knocks them out of the ballpark. the uptempo joints on the album are awful in comparison.

This track is performing WELL on the Billboard Charts, currently TOP 10 on the HOT 100 and R&B/Hip-Hop charts. You go Rubuen. He's the ONLY one from AI that people will still be talking about and buying his records for years to come. Also the album has become a mainstay in the top ten of the Hot 200 and a consistent seller.

He's the ONLY one from AI that people will still be talking about and buying his records for years to come. quote] I don't see how one can say that, though. How do you know that? How do you know the winner or top contestants on American Idol 3 won't fare better than Ruben? Or how can you predict that in the long run, Kelly Clarkson won't make more albums that showcase her growth, and Ruben won't just fall off the face of the earth?

Am I the only one that hates this song with a passion?
The lyrics are cheesy,"Its like i'm on stage and I forgot the words". "its like trying to propose and I aint got the ring". The extra voices make this song a nightmare and the video is even worse.
Uhg!
I give this song an F

I just realized a few weeks ago that Ruben actually says "I'm sorry, for May, sorry, for June, sorry, for July, in case I didn't tell you, August, September, October, November til' your December I'm sorry" For the longest time I thought he was saying "I'm sorry, for the pain, sorry, for the dudes, sorry for the lies, in case I didn't tell you, August, Sept...etc"

I know, I knew that wasn't what he was saying, but I just went with it...I couldn't think of anything else, or be bothered, for that matter...
