Ashanti is #14 on the Hot 100. Ashanti is also #11 on the R&B Charts.

I can't believe how some of you would have thought that Murder Inc. would have let her fail with her lead single after Ja hit big. This had hit potential all over it--so what if it didn't go to the Top 10 at record speeds, as long as it gets there--that's really all that matters. And since it's already up from 23- 14 this week, it'll most likely do just that next week.

I was just going to come in here and say that this is a hit. Haha. Anyway...I'm proud of Ashanti! And I'm glad as hell! Hopefully, the single can hold strong for a little longer, until it goes for adds on Pop on January 11th. Then, Pop will jump all over it and - VOILA! - Ashanti will own that #1 spot. Wishful thinking! Don't be hatin' just because I got dreams!

They played this at the club I went to last night. It was one of only 4 or 5 Urban songs I heard while I was there. It was a mostly Latino club that I was at.
That's pretty incredible, I mean I only heard them play 4 or 5 Urban songs while I was there, (Snoop Drop It Like It's Hot, Game/50 How We Do ..and that mixed into "Only U", then they played some uptempo R.Kelly song I'd never heard and then Disco Inferno before going back to Latino)
The set kicked off with Drop It Like It's Hot, it was a bit after midnight, and that got people rushing to the dancefloor. I would have liked if they continued the urban set and let it go longer. That set was the hilight of the music lol. Maybe they started it up again after we left but we left at around 1.
But it's pretty incredible that "Only U" was one of the select few urban songs they did play. Kinda tells you something about the song (well to me, anyway). DJ's think it's hot and worthy enough to include in the show.
That song is f**kIN HOT! The beat is just crazy, that's got to be one of the hottest beats of 2004. I've always liked 7's work but he did it again!

Yeah, that is pretty remarkable for a slow song by a female R&B singer at a club at that. People are catching on to Aurelis' hynotic, urban beat. Usually, when DJ' s give a track it steady club play, the song is a hit.

It made the Top 10. Murder can stop payments now. LOL! Well it is Christmas week....I'm actually betting that the song will be one of the largest gainers after the Christmas is over.

it's still going strong at Rhythmic and is picking up at Pop tho--- small bullets can't be trusted right now b/c of the season. this song isn't over. good thing b/c the album doesn't have much better to offer.

Ok, well this peaked at the same position as the third single from her first album and that was only two years ago. I'd be worried if I were her.

AShanti's audience is WAAAY up at Urban. And Baby peaked at #15 not #14. I'm taking a wait and see approach to Ashanti. Everyone hates her though all for various reasons.

The remix to this song is AWESOME! It has a reggae type beat to it.

The bullet for this song is very modest. This song MAY be a grower, or it may flop by the standards she set for herself with her other singles. But its definately not blowing up at all right now, especially the way the other lead singles from veteran artists have been doing recently. I guess the video can probably help it a little bit but i believe she will probably, barely make top 10 at Rhythmic and/or urban BUT she will have to come stronger for the 2nd single or she is done. Ha!
