Beebee, It's too early to tell that Shakira would dominate Grammy Latino 2010. Shakira's a threat if her album is as good as Thalia's Primera Fila. I hope Shakira won't continue with the image and the music she is delivering to the public now. Honestly, it doesn't help her COMMERCIALLY. In my opinion, from all the female Latin pop stars that released their albums during the time frame for Grammy Latino nominations (Paulina Rubio, Nelly Furtado, Thalia, Julieta Venegas and Belinda), Thalia has the sure win for any Grammy Latino nomination as of the moment.

Thalia is back on track! She is promoting Primera Fila and Equivocada on Spain these past few days. She will fly to Mexico for some meet & greet in some record bars in su pais natal. Aqui estan los videos de Thalia promocionando en Espana..

Thank you for the videos. She is so beautiful!
I hope she gets a nomination for a Grammy. The album is completely solid and probably one of her best CDs (I would objectively say it's better than Paulina's and Shakira's, and her voice truly shines for once).

That's also my wish for her. Btw, she will be performing live on Billboard Latino 2010 to be held at Puerto Rico? this May?. Press releases tell that a big surprise is coming our way regarding her performance. (*Juan Luis Guerra and Joan Sebastian are also coming for that night. I guess one of her performance will be with one of them*) And another btw, Con La Duda f/Joan Sebastian received 4 airplays (2 from WPAT-FM New York City) today. Will it be the third single?

Thalia is in Mexico right now promoting her recent album, Primera Fila. Sony Music MX certified her album as Double Platinum + Gold amid reports that 1/F reached Triple Platinum status. Anyway, Thalia is updating her fans alrededor del mundo via her Twitter account, and I'm amazed by her voice during her rehearsals for Que Sera De Ti?.

Here are some of Thalia's performances/interviews aired in Mexican TV: Her dinner with her family (sans Laura Zapata, of course) and close celebrity friends (with her megabestfriend Itati Cantoral) Que Sera De Ti Equivocada (and she forgot the lyrics of her song, but still, beautiful as always. )

I hadn't seen the above video of "Equivocada."
"Ay, tengo tantos nervios de estar aquí." :)
I so loooove her. She's so charismatic.

Thalia's Primera Fila is a HUGE success in her hometown Mexico sans promotion, now certified 3x Platinum + Gold (more than 217,000 copies sold and more or less 23,000 copies left for 4x Platinum certification, and reigns still at #1 for 6 or 7 weeks straight) by AMPROFON. In the USA, it still stays in the Top 50 in Billboard Latin Albums (#26) and Latin Pop Albums (#4 for 26 weeks straight), a suprising feat for Thalia that she never accomplished with her previous EMI albums.
However, Que Sera De Ti received lukewarm reception from the Anglo market, it never reached the Top 10 in the Latin Pop Songs and Latin Songs category in the Billboard. On the contrary, QSDT is a HUGE success in Latin America, enjoying the #2 spot in MonitorLatino Mexico and #9 spot in TopLatino.net, a site that ranks all singles playing in the Latin American airwaves..

Well, I find QSDT a very boring song I know it is a Roberto Carlos song, but I don't think it works well for this time and age or at least with the 'unplugged' version. On the contrary, the duet with Joan Sebastian sounds good and fresh. "Equivocada" is a 'nice' ballad and Thalia sounds really good. Not my favorite Thalia ballad by any means, though. Gets a bit boring to me as well, but at least showcases her good voice. I'm glad she is having this kind of success. I have read very good reviews about her album. I seriously think she needs good MODERN producers for her next studio album. Something ala Arrasando which put her back in top of the pop game. She has the qualities to deliver, I am looking forward to her new era. Good luck with the Latin Grammys, btw!

Thank you Juank for mentioning that Con La Duda sounds a fresh and a good song. Some Thalia fans now curse Sony Music Latin, because Con La Duda (being Thalia's 3rd single off the album) is a wrong single selection, because of the genre, and Joan Sebastian (they call him viejito, and they think CLD will be a disaster).
Anyway, thank you too for mentioning the Latin Grammys, one Thalia fan who works in the music industry told forum members of Univision.com that Thalia en Primera Fila is included in the nominations, including other Sony Music Latin artists Camila (Dejarte De Amar) and Aventura (The Last). But he didn't mentioned how many nominations those artists garnered for this year's LG.

I'm going to have to sit one night and take a look at this project perhaps on YouTube if it's a available (video or just audio). I've liked Thalia since the very beginning of her career even with Amarillo Azul and stuff from those days. And why not saying it.... since some Timbiriche songs, ha, ha. Anyway, her last two albums have really disappointed me. If I have to be fair, I would have to say that the singles didn't do much for me. I have NOT heard the whole albums. In the past, I would've bought the album the first day anyway. Not anymore. I guess that happened with this last project, but I'm willing to reconsider now that I read such interesting comments. I wouldn't mind having some new Thalia songs on my iPod. ;)

You might think that I'm exaggerating, but Carlitoz, this is Thalia's album that made all the anti-fans (Paulina Rubio's fans especially), Thalia haters and non-Thalia admirers that belittle Thalia's musical capacity quiet since the first day of its release. I, too, was mesmerized by this album, that showcased Thalia's vocal power unlike she was doing (frequent lipsynching) when performing on stage. I can't also believe the successes it enjoys right now (almost 6x Platinum in whole Latin America bulk of them from the 3x Platinum+Gold certification in Mexico, #1 singles in Latin American charts, one of the Top 10 topnotchers in Billboard Latin singles charts and a mainstay for 27 weeks now at Billboard Latin albums charts, a feat that she never achieved before). Thanks to Sony Music Latin, Tommy Mottola (EP of the whole album) and Aureo Baquiero (Musical EP of the album) who re-made Thalia a household name in the Latin music industry.
I would recommend for you these songs from 1/F: -Equivocada (written by Mario Domm, Maria Bernal) -Como (written by Thalia, Leon Polar of Sin Bandera) -Cosiendome El Corazon -Cuando Te Beso (JL Guerra classic) -Ya Lo Sabia (written by Thalia, Leon Polar of Sin Bandera) -Estoy Enamorado -Ensename A Vivir (written by Reyli Barba, the one who wrote the OBB theme song of Televisa-produced telenovela Rubi)

Off-topic: Another rumor is circulating today in the WWW. Thalia will be performing at the hit US TV show "Law and Order". I've seen Wikipedia and it says that the show has been cancelled since May 2010, but it was also told that there is a spin-off from the show entitled "Law and Order:Los Angeles" and most probably, if this news item is true, Thalia will appear there. There is no official statement yet from Thalia and her team. Remember that earlier this year producer Pedro Torres announced that Thalia confirmed to be cast in the third installment of Mujeres Asesinas, but also, she didn't release an official statement regarding her confirmation on the casting of the hit Mexican TV series.

Enseñame a Vivir is the next single, Thalía already shot a video for this song , which is weird 'cause we already have the video of 1F concert...it seems to me that she'll release a studio version of this song, it might be interesting.

Are you referring to this one? Thalia has 2 SINGLES released recently, ENSENAME A VIVIR is released exclusively on Spain and Argentina (but some radio stations at Mexico and USA are also playing the song) and ESTOY ENAMORADO is released worldwide where Latin Music is known. EE is now receiving heavy rotations in Puerto Rico and it swiftly enters the BB charts a week after its release. (Equivocada waited more or less a month to enter BB charts after its release, QSDT 1 1/2 month). Did I mention in my earlier post that 1/F is confirmed sold 240,000 units in Mexico (4x Platinum)??

According to this article, there are rumors about a rerelease of 1F that would include new songs like "Colgado en tus manos" and "Cuando me Vaya de Lado" . In this new version we also would have a new version of "Equivocada" featuring Mexican group Camila.
Paul Forat (Sony Latin manager) says that she'll release studio albums in the future with brand new songs and that it's likely that she'll record a new album in English, but it would be different from other English projects of latin acts, 'cause Thalía has grown as a singer (according to him) and wants to do something more related to Sheryl Crow's and Norah Jone's type of music .

Thanks for translating! I hope she'll do an English crossover successfully unlike what she did in 2003. But first, she MUST promote 1/F and her latest single first!

Thalia En Primera Fila' Deluxe Edition To Be Released Sept. 28 August 10, 2010 - Latin By Leila Cobo Sony Music Latin is planning to release a deluxe edition of "Thalia En Primera Fila," the live recording by the Mexican pop star, on Sept. 28.
The deluxe CD/DVD edition, the label's only deluxe release between now and the end of the year, will include three new tracks on the CD and a never-released documentary in the DVD. A version for the Mexican market will, in addition, also include the full live concert. A Blue-ray version of the concert will be released throughout Latin America.
Taped before a live audience in Miami last summer, "Thalía En Primera Fila" (Thalia First Row) became a comeback success story. Although Thalía is a superstar known throughout Latin America (in part due to her long career in successful soaps), her past two albums, out on EMI Latin, had sold poorly, particularly here in the United States.
But "En Primera Fila," an acoustic recording that featured a simple version of Thalía --barefoot, jean-clad and wearing little make-up -- was enthusiastically supported by Sony, her new label, and became a surprising success. This pared down Thalia struck a chord, and the CD, DVD and special CD/DVD edition for Walmart have together sold close to 90,000 copies in the United States alone since the late 2009 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Throughout Latin America, the project in its different formats has shipped 450,000 copies, according to Sony.
"It's really our great story of the year," says Paula Kaminsky, VP of marketing for Sony Music U.S. Latin. "And it shows that a good artist always has a chance with the right project."
Thalía's sales were particularly strong in her native Mexico, where "En Primera Fila" has been on the top 5 of the Amprofon charts since March. There, the album has gone quadruple platinum, shipping 240,000 copies, according to Amprofon.
Thalía also benefited from a campaign from Dutch clothing company C&A, for whom Thalia is a spokesperson for the Mexican market. The singer is featured prominently in C&A's website, and the company's fall campaign will feature the single "Enséñame a Vivir."
Stateside, Thalía's music was also part of an AT&T campaign during the World Cup. www.billboard.biz/bbbiz/content_display/genre/e3i4b7c0879c181d50b7780f6fc1470c47f?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

greaves.tv/amprofon3/Top100.pdfAMPROFON is Mexican version of BILLBOARD. GOLD certification = 30,000 copies PLATINUM certification = 60,000 copies DIAMOND certification = 300,000 copies Without exaggeration, Thalia holds the MOST NUMBER OF COPIES OF ALBUMS SOLD in 2010, she's certified 4X PLATINUM (240,000 copies sold ONLY in Mexico). And one of the top honchos of Sony Music Latin, Paul Forat, told that her PRIMERA FILA is the top bestseller of all their contract artists for this year. And in the DELUXE VERSION, Thalia collaborated with Henry Santos of Aventura for a new song to be included in the album to be released on the 28th of September.

You're always welcome. The previous post is all about PHYSICAL SALES, DIGITAL SALES are not yet included. I doubt that THALIA EN PRIMERA FILA will reach DIAMOND certification in MEXICO because the deluxe version is coming out a month from now, but if heavens permit, this is the first Thalia album that would be certified as DIAMOND in her lengthy musical career. So far, she is also the second longest "resident" of the Billboard Latin Pop Albums (this week @ #5; 37 weeks. Marisela is the longest with 20 Exitos Inmortales; 73 weeks).
The GRAMMYS always likes live albums, following the sweep done by Shakira in the first-ever Latin Grammys through her MTV UNPLUGGED, and also by ALEJANDRO SANZ. She is a really a strong contender for ALBUM OF THE YEAR and RECORD OF THE YEAR, but she might have a strong head-on fight with Aventura (The Last), Camila (Dejarte De Amar), Alejandro Fernandez (Dos Mundos). I hope she bags AT LEAST ONE GRAMMY LATINO. I doubt it that Thalia won't have a GRAMMY LATINO for this album.
( The announcement of the nominees for the 11th ANNUAL LATIN GRAMMYS would be on the 8th of September. The awarding ceremonies would be held on November 11, 2010 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. This would be transmitted live by Univision. )

It depends on how the sales are tabulated for determining whether it goes diamond. In the US, a re-release's sales are added to the original release to determine total sales. Now that you've given me some background, it appears the reason they're doing a re-release is to help her get her first diamond album.

I hope that AMPROFON will just add up the deluxe version sales to the original one. I have trauma in BB whether they'll add the sales, or divide it again, just like what they did in 1/F's first release, where it supposed to be Thalia's second #1 album in the Latin Albums chart but failed to do so (BB changed it to #3) because of 2 different versions: the original version and the Walmart version.
In my opinion, the album does not need any re-release/deluxe version to help augment her sales. Her presence alone in TV, radio and record bar tours is badly needed for the promotion of the album. I'll cite the example where she went to Mexico last April, album sales zoomed up from 2x Platinum + Gold to 3x Platinum in a breeze. This is only the BAD thing for Thalia, she is resting on her laurels so easily when she reached the peak of her "revived" musical career. Well, I hope my viewpoint will change, come September, if she fulfill her promise of a concert tour.

I really wish I could give you an answer for how sales are calculated in Mexico for certifications. In the US, it would count for the reason that most of the material comes from the original release; adding two songs doesn't change the overall content from the original release and because it's not enough new content, it's not sufficient enough to classify it as a new album. It'd be considered a new album only if the majority of the songs are new. That said, I truly do believe the reason they're rereleasing it is because it will add sales to the original.
And I just want to add how vocally phenomenal "Cuando Te Beso" is. Iliterally had chills. The track is more than enough to prove what a great singer and vocalist she is. That track has got to have earned her her long overdue Grammy.

THREE GREAT NEWS TODAY!!!! FIRST, On its 40th week, THALIA en PRIMERA FILA is now certified 4X PLATINUM + GOLD (270,000+ copies sold, less than 30,000 copies more for the DIAMOND certification) in her hometown Mexico!!! Source: [a href=" www2.esmas.com/ritmoson/noticias/200750/tiene-thalia-album-mas-vendido-del-ano-mexico"] www2.esmas.com/ritmoson/noticias/200750/tiene-thalia-album-mas-vendido-del-ano-mexico[/a] SECOND, THALIA tallied her 12th song that reached the Top 10 of Latin Pop Songs category on the Billboard, ESTOY ENAMORADO, WITHOUT ANY MAJOR PROMOTION COMING FROM HER. Thank the heavens for Sony Music Latin, they are the ones who should be applauded to. AND LAST IS A RUMOR.... FOR NOW. (* and hoping it is true*) If your following Thalia on Twitter ( twitter.com/thalia), she mentioned yesterday on her tweet that her biggest dream will be happening today on the recording studios. One Thalia forum in the Net broke the news, and when I read it, yes, it's a BIG, as in really BIG SURPRISE from her. And FROM THIS MOMENT on, you'll surely love Thalia FOREVER AND FOR ALWAYS.

Unfortunately that article about the Shania duet is as fake as Mariah's breast, but I'm excited about this exciting project she mentioned anyway.
BTW, her Twitter is SO boring ! It's a collection of lame sentences she took from the cheapest and worst self-help books ever made by the man kind.
