Last night, she also sang When It Don't Come Easy, another Patty Griffin song. In addition, someone on the Express got some of the lyrics to EAIA. :)

Yes, that's the one.
ETA: Here they are - thanks to bluroses85 at the Express.
(2nd verse I think ) The smell of you runs right through my veins Thoughts of you linger, how I betray (...) how did our story end up like this
How long til my heart breaks So much that I can (can't?) take One more day, one more hour Of waiting on something That might never happen How long til my tears stop How every salted drop Bruises the skin I stuck in (betrayal??) Empty as I am
(...) I whisper your name, b/c if I scream I might wake up you just might be, only a dream if you don't love me
How long til my heart breaks So much that I can (can't?) take One more day, one more hour Of waiting on something That's not gonna happen How long til my tears stop How every salted drop Bruises the skin I stuck in (betrayal??) Empty as I am

And the New Moon team DIDN'T choose this song because? How stupid. It sounds great lyrically.

I'm loving hearing Impossible live, I especially like what they do to it production-wise. This performance here is great.

I absolutely love the remix version of 'Never Again' and the bridge is so da*n powerful especially the final 'NEVERRRRRRRRR' at the end of the bridge (from 2:29 - 3:03 from tonight's DC show) :o: LOL, this is why it is so hard to try to sing a Kelly Clarkson song.... ETA: here is unbelievably clear audio from a video of tonight's performance of 'Lies': Live "Never Again" NEVER gets old. It has been and still is one of my favorite songs of Kelly's in concert.

Oh well...I just hope it gets released later.

Me neither, Focus, which is why I think 'Never Again' is probably my second favourite Kelly Clarkson single to date (I'm not counting 'Sober' as a single, although I can see why some would- that is my favourite song of hers, period). I think my ranking would go something like this: 1. 'Hazel Eyes' (if 'Sober' is counted, then it would be my #1) 2. 'Never Again' 3. 'Already Gone' 4. 'Life Would Suck' 5. 'Because of You' 6. 'Trouble With Love Is' (I know I am in the minority with this one) 7. 'Breakaway' 8. 'Since U Been Gone' 9. 'Low' 10. 'Walkaway' 11. 'Hook Up' 12. 'Miss Independent' 13. 'Moment Like This' 14. 'Before Your Love'

Kelly Clarkson fills Taj Arena with energy in 85-minute setBy KEVIN CLAPP Staff Writer Once the people's champion, always the people's champion. This much was clear 30 seconds into Kelly Clarkson's Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort concert Saturday night, as the opening verse of "All I Ever Wanted" had a capacity crowd on its feet. In the second week of her fall tour in support of her fourth album, "All I Ever Wanted," Clarkson wowed an all-ages crowd pressofac.mycapture.com/mycapture/enlarge.asp?image=26128557&event=861478&CategoryID=27968with a hard charging set of favorites and covers that show the singer is at the peak of her pop powers, each song punctuated by an anything-but-low roar from her adoring fans. The adulation was to be expected. Give the woman a stack of take-out menus to sing, and she still would have received a raucous standing ovation after every one. Almost two years to the day of her last appearance in Atlantic City, the Clarkson that emerged from behind a sheer white curtain was a more confident, polished performer than the one who has appeared three other times in the resort since being crowned the first "American Idol" champ. Dressed from head to toe in black, she owned the Taj Arena, backed by a crack 11-piece band that included a DJ and horn section. The additions added a welcome texture to such Clarkson standards as "Walk Away." At other times, she stripped the arrangements down to their core. A powerful "Behind These Hazel Eyes" relied on little more than her voice and two guitars. It came during the night's slowest section, when Clarkson's voice took center stage on the Black Keys' "Lies," a bluesy version of Patsy Cline's "Walking After Midnight" and "Hazel Eyes." Still, the singer and her band rarely lifted their feet from the gas, powering through 20 songs during their 85 minutes on stage. From her faithful rendition of "Because of You" to the fizzy pop of "I Want You," Clarkson was willing to stretch beyond the confines of her records, and the show was the better for it. Throughout, she took time to thank the fans so willing to give her their love. They stood on chairs, snapped pictures at will and often offered a fist-pumping exclamation point to the ends of songs. As for her opening act, Parachute set the table with a jumpy 30-minute set of pop-rock that had the crowd riled up by its end. It would be no surprise to see the all-male quintet return as headliners before long. But the group is still working its way up the ladder, a situation far different from Clarkson's climb from unknown to "American Idol" to bona fide pop superstar. It makes you wonder: If not for "Idol," would the world have discovered Kelly Clarkson? The suspicion, after nearly 90 minutes of pulse-pounding pop-rock Saturday night, is yes.

Just got my tickets for the San Jose show November 29! SO excited. It will be a long wait (especially since I'm not looking at any tour media, though I cheated a bit and listened to mp3s of her new covers), but very well worth it.

"Already Gone" has just been certified Gold in Australia which means "All I Ever Wanted" has spawned 1 platinum and 2 gold singles thus far. The album itself should be platinum there in a few weeks.

I haven't listened.....curious to know......have the vocals changed on this song live? On album version there are parts that sound very reminiscent of Idol vocals.....wondering if she sings it like that live?
Thanks, trying not to listen before my show...

I haven't posted here in forever and I was wondering if there was going to be anything about the express being down. It's not Yuku cause I was able to go to SS. I wonder what happened.

Okay, glad it's not just me, but I went to the Clayboard too which is Yuku and his site is down. I think it is some of Yuku that's screwed up. Good thing I have the Baseball playoffs and Football today to keep me busy, otherwise I would have gone crazy without my KC Express.

It doesn't even give me the little yuku guy. My page is just blank but I better stop talking about before I get in trouble here. I like Pulse and come here from time to time to read but I mostly just lurk. I was only curious about the express because I pm'd someone and I wanted to see if I got a reply.

I haven't been able to get to the Express all day. It's been giving me trouble for a while now, pages not loading, being slow, etc.
And kcchica, I don't think there's anything different about Impossible. But then again, I usually don't notice when she changes things vocally.

I haven't posted on the Express in a while. I really don't like some of the new people there. But, anyway, only 27 days until my show! So excited.

I hope Kelly performs Already Gone at the Grammys this year. Nominations will be announced 12-2, at that nominations concert thing they did last year.
I think Kelly is a lock for nominations for Pop Album, and Female Pop Vocal for sure.

^^Wow, the audio quality on those clips are amazing. Girl keeps hitting a new vocal peak. I wonder if we'll ever get to hear those pre-show acoustic tracks...
ETA: Seeing those videos inspired me to view some other live footage from that night, and check out the new (and improved) 'Walkin' After Midnight' (the higher ending and extended falsetto is pretty bloody incredible):
An up close view of the opening of the show and good video and audio of Kelly wailing on the opening song, 'All I Ever Wanted' in her Janet Jackson-like 'Rhythm Nation' overcoat :) :
A HQ look at the extended piano intro and reworked version of 'Already Gone:

Clarkson warms up to A.C. crowdBy A.D. Amorosi For The Inquirer Things should be easier for Kelly Clarkson. Although she was crowned the first American Idol winner and has sold 10 million-plus copies of her four glistening pop albums, the 27-year-old Texan with the mighty vocal chops gets way too much grief. She gets flak for singing country songs and hanging with the NASCAR crowd. In 2007, then-BMG label president Clive Davis hassled Clarkson for writing dark, personal songs for her album My December. The girl puts on weight, and gossip rags won't leave her alone. That's probably why Clarkson seemed free on the stage Saturday at Trump Taj Mahal's Mark G. Etess Arena, deconstructing some of her hits, and covering Black Keys and Patsy Cline tunes. The stage is an anything-goes zone. And she does that well. Clarkson could strip down her "Behind These Hazel Eyes" to an acoustic guitar and a bluesy warble, or wail out with just a piano's tinkle and six-string fuzz behind her on the Keys' "Lies." Clarkson and her 11-piece band could ramp up the dire plink of "Never Again" and turn it into a chilly Euro-disco dance track. It was her party, and the casino's mix of elders, hipsters, and school kids was in on the revelry. Make no mistake: It was a sleek and shiny machine Clarkson maneuvered - like the Wilson sisters from Heart on their glossiest '80s hits. Manicured cuts like the curvaceous "All I Ever Wanted," the insistent "My Life Would Suck Without You," and the halting "Miss Independent" (despite the latter's inclusion of a dirty Black Sabbath riff) were slick, driven by her band's cool calculations and Clarkson's flawless - too flawless at times - voice. It was like Grace-Kelly-in-High-Society perfect. At first, Clarkson's demeanor seemed equally icy. Yet she thawed when chatting up the audience ("It's going to be a big, rambling night!"), talking up her own fan worship for those whose tunes she would perform, and hitting on comfortably fit covers, like her slow, bluesy bounce on Cline's "Walking After Midnight" and her flitting, flirty mashup of "That I Would Be Good" (Alanis Morissette) and "Use Somebody" (Kings of Leon). Suddenly, Clarkson seemed at home. Clarkson's opening act, Parachute of Charlottesville, Va., was a cool, lusty surprise - a saxophone-driven pop-soul band whose hefty groove and smooth warm vocals (courtesy of William Anderson) came across like an unscrubbed version of the band Maroon 5. Nice job. www.philly.com/inquirer/magazine/20091012_Clarkson_warms_up_to_A_C__crowd.html
