Doesn't sound like her to me. They have more of a Christina style, and seem deeper in tone to Kelly.

Thanks, wanted to be sure I wasn't crazy wondering how that could really be her. Kelly's voice is usually distinctive but she can change things up so many ways it's hard sometimes to be sure it's not her.

So sad about the guy dying. I wonder if Kelly will say anything about it.

Best video so far of That I would be good/Use somebody, you can REALLY see her expressions when she sings, and she looks just beautiful.

It's too bad she doesn't use video screens for the show. I would have liked to see her expressions and my seats weren't even that far away. Maybe her other venues were more intimate-sized but it was odd to not have big screen projectors in an arena like Boston. She does have amazing energy however and that projects well. Loved the re-arranged piano intros to "Cry" and "Already Gone."

The use of video screens seems to vary by the venue, she had them on most of the summer fair tour stops and has had them a few places in the fall tour, I believe.

Front & center video of All I Ever Wanted to open Tuesday's show in Boston - really gives a sense of how this song just blasts off to kick off the show. It really will be a shame if we never get to this song as a single.

I LOVED the opening! The motionless standing in silence was great, reminiscent of the MD tour opening (which I also loved). AIEW really is a great track, I think it's PERFECT 5th single material, IICHY is just too good to not be the fourth single.

More awesome videos from the same person, this one is Cry, her vocals were so clear, powerful, beautiful and effortless, it's breathtaking.

AIEW is outta IICHY's league IMO. Love the live performance, still pissed she cuts out the first verse. Tear up the photographs...

I was sick and bored today (though what is to follow is still lame haha), and I decided to read through the CHR/POP threads for SUBG, BTHE and BOY during the Breakaway era. It made me play that CD on repeat. I still hold that AIEW is my favorite album of hers, but I can see why people would say Breakaway is her best. It's truly perfectly crafted. And I will always think that that album's mega-success has something to do with people thinking it's her best.
But, wow, reading through those threads...Kelly had radio quite literally in the palm of her hands. It was funny reading the SUBG thread especially with people calling her an Avril copycat and doubting the song, and then doubting BTHE, and then deciding anything she put out on radio was a guaranteed top 10 by the time BOY came along. I love where she is at musically and vocally now (seriously, I watched her debut performances of SUBG, and they're crystal clear, but her voice has got so much richer since then), but it was so much FUN to be a fan of hers back then when she was just so dominant. And she was turning people into fans, not just everywhere but on this board there were lots of "Wow...I'm actually a Kelly fan now" comments and such. Good times.
Anyway, we discussed her previous albums at length in the Already Gone thread so I apologize for distracting this thread, too, I just had fun reading through the moments where Kelly was on top.
It's getting SO difficult not to listen to the tour songs, and i have over a month to go until my show...

More awesome videos from the same person, this one is Cry, her vocals were so clear, powerful, beautiful and effortless, it's breathtaking. Wow, that was amazing. Speak of that show, yet another great review of this tour: Concert Review: Kelly Clarkson Casino Rama, Ontario - October 15, 2009 By JASON MacNEIL - Special To Sun Media Of all of the sonic garbage passing for American Idol winners and Top Ten Finalists in recent years, it's nice to know the television franchise have discovered a few diamonds in the rough, notably Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson. And while Underwood has forged ahead with a successful country career, Clarkson is branching out a bit from pop judging by a tight and at times very soulful 90-minute show Thursday evening at a sold-out Casino Rama. Dubbed the All I Ever Wanted tour after this year's album of the same name, Clarkson and her 11-piece support band were extremely polished and studio-smooth for much of the night beginning with the title track off the new record. Clad in all black, the at-times chatty, warm and friendly Clarkson worked the stage throughout, glad-handing a tightly packed horde of fans standing at the front and even signing an autograph a one point. Yet with all the radio-friendly pop singles she's produced since winning the 2002 debut season of the talent competition, Clarkson's soulful and at times bluesy range shone through, especially on a choice series of covers during the show. Fusing Alanis Morissette's That I Would Be Good with the bombastic Kings Of Leon's Use Somebody, Clarkson belted out the latter with flare which resulted in a great response from the all-ages but primarily female audience. Later, Clarkson - who routinely mentioned her favorite Canadian artists - was fantastic with a ballsy and bluesy Janis Joplin-like rendition of The Black Keys' Lies, but even this seemed to pale compared to a sultry and smoky reworked version of Patsy Cline's Walkin' After Midnight complete with some horn accompaniment. For the most part though, fans got what the paid for, and that being a string of pop-friendly numbers such as Miss Independent (featuring a snippet of Black Sabbath's Iron Man) and the dance-flavoured, chipper I Do Not Hook Up that has Clarkson hopping on the spot. "How you doing Canada?" Clarkson asked the enthusiastic followers. "It's really pretty here but it's fricking cold!" "It's cold but you're hot!" a fan quickly replied. Delving quite a bit into the new album by performing nine songs off it, Clarkson fared quite well on the perky, electro-tinged If I Can't Have You and the moody Impossible. Meanwhile some of the ballad efforts including Cry showcased her powerful set of pipes. Well paced and crafted in terms of the flow, Clarkson and company (including a lone Canadian guitarist from Moose Jaw) continued the show with the '60s girl group ditty I Want You, a short but sweet number Clarkson dubbed her "happy song." This led nicely into the bouncy, ambling Ready. The show's main highlights though from the crowd response were obviously Clarkson's hit singles, whether it was Breakaway, Walk Away, Never Again, Since U Been Gone and the finale My Life Would Suck Without You. jam.canoe.ca/Music/Artists/C/Clarkson_Kelly/ConcertReviews/2009/10/16/11426416-sun.html#

AIEW is outta IICHY's league IMO. Love the live performance, still pissed she cuts out the first verse. Tear up the photographs... I love 'All I Ever Wanted' live, but 'If I Can't Have You' is so freaking attitudy-electropop-80s cool, that I think I have become partial it because of the live performance. Check out pretty decent video/audio from last night's show (love the scream at 3:05 ): ETA: kcchica, I was wondering that same thing: Focus, where art thou ? I am also awaiting your review (no pressure) :) ! ETA: This version of last night's 'Lie's is also killer:

The funniest thing I read in that SUBG thread was someone saying with great authority that SUBG had a weak hook. I laughed to myself at the time and I still laugh at that today..heh. I saw Kelly last night at Casino Rama. OMG..she was spectacular!! She was so at ease on the stage and her voice and showmanship were the best I've seen from her. I loved every second of it.

Not to go off topic here, but I didn't realize that this sold so much! While I love the album, I didn't think it really sold that much...I know in the US it didn't, I am thinking in the UK, right? Good for her!
Anyway, glad you had a great time Focus! Did you do the pre show? If so that had to be amazing!

I think this video is the best one we have of this song. Everytime I listen to this cover I like it more and more, and you can tell she LOVES to sing it, she enjoys it a lot.

It's pretty hard to tell. I think we've only gotten one boxscore for the entire AIEW tour. And it wasn't a good one at that . I think it barely sold half of the capacity or something? Not sure about MD numbers, either.

I think the Addicted Tour was Kelly most successful tour, nearly every show was sold out. If I remember right (it been a few years) the Addicted Tour made more money then all of the touring Kelly did in 2005.
The only official numbers i remember seeing from this year came from one of the fair dates, I haven't seen any official number from the AIEW Tour.
EDIT: If you look on the KCE in the old tour forums you might find some official tour numbers.

my two video's from Casino Rama. The camera is new so I probably have the settings all wrong, and I wouldn't know how to change them if I did, but I like the audio quality. It didn't cancel out all the bass, which usually happens, and even though the bass comes through loud and clear it didn't distort, so I'm happy. "All I Ever Wanted" Neally, you might like the bootay shot near the beginning. "That I Would Be Good/Use Somebody"

The Breakaway tour (mar-may 2005) had 74,530/75,529...so that was 16 sold out/24 and grossed over $2.7 million Addicted tour (Jun-Aug 2006) est 280,000/290,000 and 23/25 sold out and grossed an est $9 million i also know that 2worlds grossed over $7 million in just beg of 2008 but have no idea how well it did in end of 08

At tonight's pre-show, Kelly sang Cold As You (Taylor Swift), The Climb, and a song called So He Says.
