Just to be clear, I'm not criticizing Kelly. She's successful and she's happy and she's doing things her way for the right reasons. It's more a sad comment on the business that she isn't an even bigger success and selling out bigger venues just as she is. Like I said, if more people aren't going to her shows, that's their loss. I didn't think you were criticizing Kelly. I was probably venting. It seems everyone is disappointed in some way that album sales haven't reached even a million or that her tours are not in arenas, and I just don't understand why. If that's what the girl wanted, that's what she would be getting. She's not, by any means, even getting close to her maximum potential. We know now after BA what her maximum potential is--from music to image to tours, etc... And we know what she can achieve. But she doesn't want it. Every comment about poor album sales & tours & disappointment with this era is completely irrelevant, IMO. If she were working like Beyonce is, then yes, I'd feel disappoint. She isn't, so I feel content.

So according to some article posted on the KCE, Glee is going to do My Life Would Suck Without You!!! I am so happy about that. I had hoped and wished they would! Love the female lead in Glee, amazing vocalist. Just wanted to pop in and share this info in case some don't visit the KCE.

It was only a matter of time before they covered a Kelly song.

Lady Gaga's 4.1 million copies of The Fame is #10 among 2008 releases; U2, with the #1-selling 2009 release, isn't close to that yet and is the only one within a million. Granted, the holidays aren't here and these albums will sell additional copies in 2010, but still.

Here's a great video of Never Again from Knoxville. You can really hear the cool reverb and sometimes distortion that they put on her voice in parts.

much as I adore Kelly, its seems pretty blatant - just based on her persona and something she gives off - her fans and record company care WAY more about record sales and chart positions then she does lol! Even when she hit #1 in the UK w/ MLWS (her 1st), she just seemed so non challant about it lol - opposed to many other divas who need that validation to feel complete, and would never let u 4get. Someone like P!nk to me - even though she does seem pretty nice and real - just seems like she craves that 'superstardom', and would do more of the 'whatever it takes/ be cut throat" to get high sales success. Kelly comes across like shes craving more of a low key, independent sound (no corporate producers), casual persona and moderate kind of success (like AIEW had ) and be fulfilled. "Breakaway" success just didnt seem to mesh w/ what shes all about.

Kelly did a short radio interview with Billy Bush yesterday. I'm happy she took Steven Tyler's advice because it's been working.

"Breakaway" success just didnt seem to mesh w/ what shes all about. I totally disagree with that statement about Pink. Though she's really successful with her current album, I don't get that she "craves" superstardom. What I get from her is a very serious vibe, someone who simply loves music. Now if you had said Britney Spears then I'd agree, or even Lady Gaga with her crazy outfits. But Pink is not a good example to use as to someone who craves superstardom. I think Pink is to Pop what Alicia Keys is to R&B, they always find success without all the hoopla, it just works but neither seem too obsessed with success. Here it is a recession and Pink is right up there selling well, equaling the newest hot thing in pop (lady gaga) while easily surpassing prior pop queens like Kelly. Honestly, if Pink craved superstardom she'd find a way to make it on to highly rated entertainment shows like "American Idol", "So you Think you can Dance" or "Dancing with the Stars". Far as I know she's only performed once on idol and that was for "gives back". Notice Kelly always finds her way to any show possible, which tells me she is seeking superstardom (at least more then Pink) she just lacks the package to make it happen.

Has a fourth single been mentioned from Kelly or anyone official? I would LOVE IICHY and IWY, but I doubt it will happen. That would be a nearly perfect single choice for five singles from the cd.

Not that we know of. I posted a few weeks back that I thought it was odd that Kelly's never said anything about what it could be. With AG and IDNHU she hinted at them being singles months before they were officially announced. I just want to know already, I'm tired of reading about it!

For the person who asked, Madison Square Garden has 19,000 seats for basketball, 17,500 for hockey.
I believe Kelly did one concert at the Theater at MSG, which old timers like me like to call the Felt Forum.
Also, if you read the review by Dan Aquilante of the New York Post of Kelly's concert at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC -- and Aquilante finally got Kelly Clarkson about two years ago -- he wrote that Kelly's type of concert would not work in arenas.
Of course, Aquliante has been wrong before. About six years ago, he did a feature interview in the Post with British girl group Atomic Kitten, and his piece convinced me to by the album.
That CD has been in some landfill for a long time now.

Great info on the tour stuff, so thanks...especially Focus for the Addicted info.....see I saw Kelly on that tour and it was in a huge venue in Chicago.....I look at all this info from a statistics/curiosity standpoint....not a "frustrated, what is wrong w/ Kelly" standpoint. I personally love the way she wants her career to go...I think I love her all the more for it.... But I can understand other people's views and it is interesting to read them....this thread is actually civilized about it as of late, so it is enjoyable to read. And Maria......great post a few pages back my dear! Course wouldn't expect any thing else from you!
