On Billboard? It's called "Pop Songs" now, and is basically the same as the Mediabase chart but with a few different stations. The Pop 100 has been abolished.

Lady Gaga premieres her new single Oct 3 (in less than a week). Well, not really premieres, she actually performs it on SNL, so maybe we're getting a radio premiere even earlier!

I don´t think the radio premier will be so soon, maybe in a couple of weeks. her actual single is paparazzi and it is climbing fast in Mediabase. If she release a new song now that will kill paparazzi. She is performing in SNL and she will show the new single just to create a hype about it. That is what I think |

Yeah, both mediabase and allaccess, that's how people are getting updates. I used the format for the spins behind thing you used in the Obsessed thread, I hope that's ok.

Wow!! This has the potential to become even bigger than Just Dance. I just hope she won't release the Monster single anytime soon. Hell, I'm still pissed that the re-release is happening, let alone if it kills my favorite single of hers.

I don't think that releasing the new single, lets say, last week of October/first week of November would kill Paparazzi right away... Didn't LoveGame (I think) was already Top 20 (or something like that) while Poker Face was still at the top, or at least Top 5?

I understand that any other country is hungry for new Gaga since Just Dance was so massive elsewhere before the US. However, Paparazzi is just exploding and about to enter the Top10. A debut of a new single this week could make Pap (already 4th single) slow down and miss its chance of becoming a BIG hit for her. I agree she should have released this one about 2 weeks before it did. |

Yeah I think at this point they are more concerned about getting Christmas sales over making sure Paparazzi hits #1 on pop. As long as it is a big hit that is all they care about. And that is why I am not considering the song a "guaranteed" #1 like everyone else is. I think the new single racing up may hinder it a bit. I do think they could wait a little longer to release the new single though. Perhaps mid to late October? Her singles always roar up the charts so it is not like she needs to give it a long time to become a recognized hit.

I'm sure that they will wait to send the new single for adds until November. It's coming out now for Canada, Australia, etc. who need a new single, but they can wait to release it in the US. Just because they are re-releasing doesn't mean that they have to release a single 2 months before the album release, like everybody else does. This is Lady Gaga.. anything they throw at the wall will stick. :)

I think that radio loves GaGa so much right now that it doesn't matter is she sends the new track before Paparazzi's run ends. There have been plenty of examples of artists with more than one single being spun to death. Justin, Rihanna, etc have all benefited
