Lead The Way is one of my fav tracks on Glitter. Definitely a highlight!

So I mentioned yesterday that I was heading off into central London for Mariah Carey's new album playback session and from the 5 tracks I heard, only two of them I really liked, the rest thought were very average.
The 2 stand out tracks for me were:
Candy Bling - A nice slow smoothed out tune which had The Dream & Tricky Stewart's sound all over it for those of you who are familiar with their beats. However I can't see this track being a single, but a wicked album track.
I Want To Know What Love Is - This is Mariah's cover version of the 80's Classic originally recorded by Foreigner, this is easily a single and will be a world wide smash!
As for the other tracks I heard, none of them grabbed me at all, in fact some of them actually bored me if I'm honest with you. What we heard was only a few tracks that maybe on the album, but we were told the album is still in the making, so I'm looking forward to hearing more…

Stuffed my face with cucumber sandwiches and cup cakes at Mariah Carey's album playback! Liked it but not sure she has a killer single!
Though her cover of 'I want to know what love is' by the Foreigner could be a big hit! She needs a Fantasy-type smash!
They were quite dreamy and whispery. Bit like underneath the stars on Butterfly. Liked them but didn't hear a killer radio hit!
the songs sound a bit more like the Butterfly-album vibe. As for IWKWLI.possibly, It's your big old school mariah ballad. She...
still needs an uptempo hit like Honey / Fantasy / Heartbreaker. That's not there from what I heard. Obsessed doesn't quite cut it
Nice reviews, except for the second one confusing the album on which "Underneath the Stars" appeared.

Well, Candy Bling must be really something. Even in some of the mediocre to down right negative reviews from the UK, almost all of them have sited this one as a standout.

Up to #11 on iTunes! Struggling on radio though. But yet again, a lot of stuff is. "The Warning lost 1.7 million impressions today. Mariah did go up, just not much.

I guess it's kind of guarnteed that theres only going to be 12 tracks because only 6 tracks have been confirmed to be completley done.

If "Obsessed" sticks in the top twenty of the Hot 100 Airplay until the cut off date, wouldn't that make her the first artist over forty to make it that high without any featured performers on the main song since Madonna (that is, if she acknowledged her age)?
She might miss out on an achievement because of her insecurity.
