Hmm, but why do you have to defense someone you don't know personally? I'm missing that part. Unless she's paying you, I don't see no reason. Every artist gets some criticisms, its a given.
I have seen many fans of Mariah, including you, who go into other artists' threads and voice their opinion without being jump on so why jump on someone who does it in this thread. Does it make any sense? No.
You guys can not face criticisms that's all. Will is not even negative about this posts and I have not seen him saying anything insulting about Mariah or any of the fans. (Even he has said if you don't like his posts, ignore them, try it, it will save you a lot of time, you know?) I noticed in your post, Recordman, how you used "past tense" for what you used to think of him, honestly, your tongue is that caught up in Mariah's ass that you can't let the guy just voices his opinion without bias being so apparent in your case.

Why should anyone need to be paid to be constructive or positive about something or someone?
You're insinuating that unless there's something to gain, being positive means you're kissing @ss. If that's the case it's a pretty sad way to live. It's so cynical.

People need to let Will post his opinions, and choose to ignore his posts if they disagree or don't like the content. It's a choice - not a compulsory task - to debate with him. Pulse is not a Mariah fan board and nothing Will says has violated any board rules. If there was actually any objectionable content from him, I'm sure people would not have wasted time before contacting the moderators. All this is now distracting from the purpose of this thread, which is to discuss Mariah - and excessive off-topic posts actually *do* violate a board rule.

I can't wait to hear other titles! News is so GLACIAL with this project! My boss loves the original I Want To Know... and thinks Mariah will do it justice. He is not a fan of Mariah in the least usually.

We need a tracklist!!! A lot of new releases in the last year from mainstream artists (Beyone, BEP, Jordan Sparks, Britney) have had 2 versions - Standard and Deluxe - released at the same time instead of doing a re-release down the road a la TEOM. I wonder if we are going to get the same kind of thing with this album other than that double disc with the remixes + video. If Mariah recorded a lot of songs for this album it would be nice to include some of them with something like this... the Sasha Fierce deluxe had 6 additional new songs on it.
In the meantime until some newsworthy info leaks... what would you consider Mariah's most challenging song in terms of vocals is on each studio release?

Another UK Review!
Salmon sandwiches (with the crusts cut off), fairy cakes and big glasses of chilled wine... Mariah Carey sure puts on a fine spread!
Company went to the very first, so-exclusive-you-have-to-hand-in-your-mobile-upon-entry, listening of the diva's new music at the rather posh Artesian Bar in the Langham Hotel, London last night. We got to hear the first six tracks from the studio - including Obsessed, the first single currently being played on every radio station. And we have good news! it sounds like her new album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel will see her go back to the classic style we fell in love with back in the 90s. And then a Hero comes along...The full album isn't out in the shops until 14th September, but in the meantime we can tell you about Candy Bling, a super soulful, breathy song with some high-power vocals in between, Obsessed - rumoured to be about Eminem, you'll probably know this one already, Hate You - a soulful RnB classic and many more Mariah-esque tracks. Last but not least a cover of the Foreigner song I Want To Know What Love Is created a hush over the music bods. For a few minutes at least.

He's free to do that of course, but it's rather maddening, and clearly not necessary. What I choose to post is no more unnecessary than what every other poster in this thread chooses to. Actually, it is when someone specifically involves a member of Pulse (which really has nothing to do with Mariah) into discussion that I respond (such as now :o). If anything I'm one of the few members who are trying to keep this thread on topic. Also, the idea that I'd have to "pay someone off" (so to speak) to publicly defend/back up my views is ludicrous. Why? Because I don't care if anyone shares my views in the first place. How about everyone tries and keeps this thread about Mariah and less about me. "I was like, why are you so obsessed with me?" |

Will, I wouldn't even bother trying to reason with anyone. Just keep on posting as normal.
Anyway, "Obsessed" should definitely see a slight gain in sales this week. The original version has held steady right outside of the Top 10 for most of the week and the remix has moved up to #135.

If anything I'm one of the few members who are trying to keep this thread on topic. But, Will, if someone A involves another someone B into discussion, the latter will already respond in their own defense. Having you to respond as well will only add another unecessary post and keep the thread even more off topic. Wouldn't it be better for the thread and all of us to let people discuss their own off-topic issues without playing moderator and only post about Mariah related topics? That's what's really trying to keep this thread on topic, in my humble opinion. ;) |
