No adds date found, but getting early airplay on alternative and mainstream. It's up 29 spins combined on both. It's from their new album and seems to fit the covers theme of late.

How predictable. No, not Artie Ziff creating a unofficial thread, but a band such as Rev Theory releasing a cover to fit in with the current trend. I would much prefer it if they released either "Broken Bones" or "Ten Years", if they were to go four deep.

I'm not sure they'd reach back with a new album out. But I seem to remember liking Broken Bones if I remember right. I'll have to pull out that CD and listen to those. But it seems unlikely to promote the old one.

I just sit and shake my head at how uninformed you really are Artie. The "new album" is an acoustic EP of songs from the album. So none of the songs are new expect for this which is an itunes exclusive. But again, way to do your homework. There's no reason why they couldn't go with the original versions of one of the songs (Broken Bones is one of the songs) from the album and use the EP to promote it as well. That magazine or whatever you claim to write for should fire your ass for such poor skill in having a clue what's going on.

Yep, it's an EP. And it's new. I doubt radio continues to play this, but I'll base my choice on when I hear it.

You have to admit, saying "new album" is misleading. Nobody calls an EP an album.

Is it better than Bif Naked's? I actually haven't heard it. I'll wait to see. There are a few cool covers (note: I said cool, not better than original) , I like the ones I've heard by Apocalyptica as a cello instrumental and some British chick, who's name escapes me at the moment.

You're right about not hearing it much on radio just based on their previous singles' peaks alone. Plus this just does not sound like a summer song, at least the original didn't obviously. Who knows, maybe it will have legs like Careless Whisper.

Our career is tanking ever since we stupidly changed our name; nothing else matters.

Why would you say their career is tanking?? The last two singles were the first top 20 hits on rock ever. I think if anything its the next album that will tell where this band is going.

Oh wait, they actually got some hits? Nevermind. I don't pay much attention to the Active Rock chart... I just heard Light It Up and Far From Over at a friend's house and assumed their career was dying.

I agree and EP is not an LP. But album can wrap up any piece of work bigger than a single to me. But we can keep the discussion to EP to avoid confusion.
