www.radioandrecords.com/Subscribers/TodaysNews/homepage.htm"Flinn Brings Pop Back To Memphis The company has flipped WMPS (The Pig) to CHR/Pop as WHBQ with the moniker "Q107.5, The No. 1 Hit Music Station." The station was Triple A until just two weeks ago, when it morphed to a Classic Hits format. PD Steve Richards remains in place. Flinn had a CHR/Pop format on that frequency three years ago, when the station was WKSL (Kiss 107.5) under then-PD Chris Taylor — who now programs crosstown Infinity Hot AC WMC-FM." For Fall 2003 the Memphis ratings had an out of market CHR-Pop station with a rating under 1.0. Flinn currently has no stations on the CHR-Pop panel.

I'm listening online. Here's a sample: Hilary Duff: "Come Clean" 50 Cent: "In Da Club" Kelly Clarkson: "Miss Independent" Maroon 5: "This Love" Jessica Simpson: "With You" Avril Lavigne: "Don't Tell Me" Eminem: "Lose Yourself" Britney Spears: "Toxic" Beyonce: "Me, Myself, And I" Jason Mraz: "The Remedy (I Won't Worry)" (it has stopped during this song) No current rap, but the two most recent very famous rap songs.

The new Knoxville CHR-Rhythmic station that calls themselves Wild is WYIL. The actual WYLD-AM and WYLD-FM call letters are in New Orleans and the WILD-AM call letters are in Boston. Don't try to guess a station's call letters solely based on them calling themselves Kiss, Hot, Wild, Star, Mix, Lite, or whatever. I don't know how many people pay attention, but radio stations are required to give a legal ID every hour near the hour. That's a way to find out the call letters if a radio station does not make it obvious at other times.

I first heard about Glahan's death from Radio-Info's Mississippi board this afternoon. Less than an hour ago, I heard that her death was indeed a murder, via WLBT's 10:00 news. Former Rock 93-9 DJ found dead :( For a number of months, Glahan was a DJ at Jackson's Rock 93-9 (WRXW). There, she was known as Rebecca Fox.
