I read where a new CHR in Little Rock is taking a Jack-like approach by playing music from the 80s and 90s, along with the current stuff. For instance, you might hear a Bon Jovi song next to EMF next to Pitbull. While I don't want to knock something that I hadn't experienced, I'm not sure this will work. It would, however, make for some very interesting radio. I'll see if I can find a playlist later on to post.

Wouldn't this technically be just another "Jack" station" as opposed to a CHR? Or are you saying it's a CHR whose recurrent/gold pool has 80s and 90s hits mixed in?

It probably could be another Jack station, but I would go more towards the latter. Perhaps, you could even call it a gold-based CHR station. Here's a sample from the last few hours from KHTE:

This is not a CHR station, there's nothing current in that playlist. The songs from current artists in there, (Black-eyed peas, All american Rejects) are all old. Instead of playing "Gives you Hell" they're playing Dirty little secret, instead of "I gotta feeling" they're playing "Let's get it started". That's usually a sign of a Hot AC station, which is what this looks like to me.
