I have a feeling this is the third single from their album. All Access added it and there is a radio edit for it. www1.allaccess.com/sounds/gunitwan.ramI love this song! It's hot all around. The instrumental is straight fire, the raps are hot, the hook is amazing. This will do big things.

"Poppin Them Thangs" is now popular on 106 and Park but released or now, "Wanna Get To Know You" is the second most popular G-Unit song on CHR-Rhythmic and Urban and is now in the CHR-Rhythmic Top 50. As YoungBloodZ would say, radio doesn't give a "damn" what the single is. I've seen radio pick a single themselves but I don't know if I've seen radio pick a single different from the one a video was made for. Despite being popular, it could be the second time in less than a year 50 Cent has been in a video that did not chart on radio, the first one being "Many Men (Wish Death)." It may be an expense they didn't plan for, but G-Unit must be rich and I would recommend making a video for "Wanna Get To Know You." A question is how many singles there will be. 50 Cent originally planned to release his second album of the year in 2003 but postponed it. If "Wanna Get To Know You" is finished four or five months from now I would not be surprised for it to be followed by the first single from 50 Cent's next album.

I agree with Rebirth. I liked it the first time I heard it on the radio

It's not all that to me, I just listened for the first time
It may grow on me, but I like Stunt 101 and Poppin' Them Thangs much better, at this point

According to MTV.com, this is confirmed to be the 3rd single off G-Unit's "Beg For Mercy" album, and "Ride Wit U" is going to be the 2nd or 3rd single off Joe's "And Then" LP. They will be shooting the videos for both tracks in Miami this weekend.
When hip-hop fans talk about their favorite rappers, the name Joe often pops up — Fat Joe, Joe Budden, etc. But don't forget about the singer Joe. The R&B crooner is making moves all around the hip-hop community these days.
"I love hip-hop," said Joe, who recorded the classic "Still Not a Player" with Big Pun in 1998. "What I listen to most of the time is hip-hop. I identify with a lot of what they talk about, their lifestyle. I connect with that."
Last year Joe made a connection with the G-Unit, and he recently hooked up with the aforementioned Fat Joe and Joe Budden along with mixtape king DJ Kay Slay.
"It's real fun. That connection was sort of made through my record company," Joe said of teaming with the G-Unit for "Ride Wit U" off of his album And Then ... and "Wanna Get to Know You" from the G-Unit's Beg for Mercy. Joe said he and 50's team are headed for Miami soon with a video crew.
"We gonna go out there and shoot 'Wanna Get to Know You' and I'm probably going to shoot my video for 'Ride Wit U' while we're down there," he said. "It's gonna be a nice little time in Miami. I don't know [the exact concept,] but we're gonna keep it real sexy with a lot of women and fly cars. It'll be a nice, beautifully shot video and we're going to keep it real 'hood at the same time."
Although Joe and G-Unit didn't record either of their collaborations in the studio together, he said he's had a chance to hang out with them and bond.
"I was in New York, they was in Atlanta I believe," he said of the recordings. "That's how it goes nowadays anyway. It's hard to get the schedules to work out. When I got their record I was like, 'Man, this is crazy.' Just to have the hottest hip-hoppers out right now on your record is an always a bonus. [When they heard] the [chorus] I did for their record, they was like, 'Ah, this is crazy, we gonna have to use this for a single.' It's been a blast."
Joe will be heard with another band of thugs soon. He sings on "Not Your Average Joe," a track off Kay Slay's upcoming second LP, The Streetsweeper Vol. 2: The Pain From the Game, which also features Fat Joe and Joe Budden.
Just like his rapper friends are candid about their experience, Joe wanted to come the same way on his latest album, And Then ... "I was like, 'I wanna talk about my life. I want people to see where I'm going.' Not a lot of R&B does it. The record company was a little skeptical. I kinda wanted to take a record and go there — make a record for the streets and that my fans could still love. I still wanted to have them classic Joe joints like 'Priceless,' but I still felt like the album had to be underground, kinda 'hood."
Joe will be teaming up with fellow crooners Ginuwine and Jagged Edge for a tour starting next month (see "Ginuwine, Jagged Edge Join Forces To Seduce The Country").
"There aren't a lot of R&B tours going on now," he said. "At this point in the R&B game there's not a lot of egos. It's a lot easier now for us to be like, 'Let's go out here and get this money.' We gotta do this. This is our lifestyle, touring is what we do. If we can do it together, it's gonna be even better.
Joe and the G-Unit will perform together on "Saturday Night Live" this weekend.

This needs about one million more in audience impressions to make the Hot 100. That means it could debut as early as the next chart.

This is very good. Perhaps there won't be a video for this. I've seen no mention of it at the Interscope office, and we're still promoting the "Popping Them Thangs" video pretty hard.

Joe said that the video is being shot in Miami soon. Ahhh...I didn't read the article. That makes since though because I saw travel arrangements to Miami being made yesterday. Hmmm....

Corey, if you don't mind me asking, what's the latest news with Eminem's upcoming album? When is it slated for release, the traditional May release date?
and are there plans for Lloyd Banks to release a solo album anytime soon?

My guess is Eminem's still in the studio. I do know that a new 50 Cent album is scheduled for June.

Ok thanks
Yea I believe Eminem is in the studio, and a few weeks ago some of the music leaked to Ebay or something, and there was some rumblings at Interscope as to how this top secret music supposedly leaked.
I wonder how it's going to be, the first time that Eminem and 50 will be directly competing with one another for sales/radio airplay. Eminem should continue to sell well over 5 million, and we'll see how 50 does, but I'd imagine at least 4 million sold for him this time around.
I wonder who's going to have the rap song of this upcoming summer, Eminem, 50 or Nelly.

I'm pretty sure Nelly's out of the race already. Urban radio probably wouldn't touch Eminem much, so I guess by default 50 will have it.
I like this song.

The video has already been shot. The only thing I know about is so far is that there is a car scene and it was indeed shot in Miami.

I do know that a new 50 Cent album is scheduled for June. If they don't release 50 Cent's first single until "Wanna Get To Know You" is done, then it may not have much time to become popular before his album comes out, but "Wanksta" and "In Da Club" didn't need much time to become popular.

Yea I believe the video was shot this past weekend in MIA
There is supposed to be a Lloyd Banks solo album in March, but I'm almost 100% certain that will be pushed back, probably to the fall or winter, because there is no time to release that, and then 50's album in June, unless you want them to compete with eachother for sales, although I doubt that would happen, both would sell well.
There's no talk, no buzz, no word of a first single, for Banks' solo album to come out in March, after all March is only 6 weeks away. I guess it's still possible, but with this new G-Unit single, and then 50's album...
50 won't need much time for a first single with the new album, if it drops towards the end of June then the first single around mid-late May would be just fine.
50's debut dropped on February 6th, and "In Da Club" was out in January.
It will spread like wildfire and be overplayed within 2 weeks anyway, so it doesn't really matter.
I guess this G-Unit and Joe track will be the 3rd and final single off "Beg for Mercy". Has it gone 2x platinum? 1x?

50 Cent could debut at #1 without a single. It doesn't matter when the first single gets released.

Sorry but this song is too ghetto for me. The only thing that I like about the song is Joe's hook. The rapping is a bunch of crap.
